Tony Cragg 'Order', 1989, Western Gateway Center, John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park, Des Moines, Iowa
Initially used as a supporter of the arms of Henry IV's John, Earl of Kendal, and moved in 1443 to Sir John Beaufort (Henry VII’s grandfather) with the transfer of the title.
Found in the Tudor Garden.
Hampton Court's original Tudor gardens were replaced by successive monarchs. This garden was recreated in the Chapel Court by Todd Longstaffe-Gowan, opening in 2009 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Henry VIII's accession to the throne.
The garden holds the eight royal beasts - representations of the animals from Henry's lineage.
The Beasts were decorated by Patrick Baty.
Hampton Court Palace began with Cardinal Thomas Wolsey (c.1473-1530) acquiring what was then a grange from the Order of St John (the Knights Hospitaller) in 1514 and redeveloping it as a palace. The new palace included the Base Court (which included 40 guest lodgings), and the inner Clock Court (which had state apartments for Henry VIII, Katherine of Aragon and the Princess Mary). The palace was used for hosting state functions such as diplomatic visits as well as entertainments.
In 1529 Hampton Court passed to Henry following Wolsey's downfall, at which point Henry built upon and developed an already substantial palace. The new complex included larger kitchens, a chapel and great hall, as well as tennis courts, a bowling alley and tiltyard. Starting less than 6 months of taking possession, Henry's works weren't complete until 1540.
Each of Henry's heirs stayed at Hampton Court (indeed Edward VI was born there), although only Elizabeth I made any changes and those were relatively minor; this was similar under the Stuarts, with the next changes to the palace happening with William and Mary.
Sir Christopher Wren (1632-1723) was comissioned to design a new palace, but the cost of demolishing the existing building was too prohibitive, instead the east and south sides were rebuilt.
The last phase of construction happened with the Hanoverians, with Sir John Vanbrugh (1664-1726) designing the Queen's apartments under George I, and William Kent (c. 1685-1748) the Queen's staircase and Cumberland Suite under George II.
The royal family left Hampton Court in 1737, after which time the palace became grace and favour apartments for a century, before being opened to the public by Queen Victoria.
In honor of the 800th Jubilee of the Order of Preachers (1216-2016), The Honorable Antonin Scalia, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, gave a lecture at the Dominican House of Studies for an evening event on Saint Thomas Aquinas and Law.
Justice Samuel Alito joined the friars for Vespers and Dinner and shared some reflections as well.
The row under the shirt is my brother's. I plan on using most of this for the Okinawa colab. Can someone comment what materials to use to take off the printing for decals and what to use for a protective coating?
When I first looked at this photo, I was leaning towards a Black & White visualization to capture the mood from the hallway at this restaurant. Later I decided on something different and used a Vignette Blur CEP filter and a Contrast filter. I wanted to capture the colors along with wall with the street signs.

The fellowships honor the late Hallie Ford, co-founder of the Ford Family Foundation, Roseburg, Oregon, who was a life-long supporter of the visual arts and believed that all people should have the opportunity to explore and realize their talents. Each Hallie Ford Fellow is awarded $25,000 in unrestricted funds to pursue their creative passion and, thereby, enrich and enliven the cultural life of Oregon.

To mark 35 years since the death of Joy Division frontman Ian curtis Incubation Arts have an exhibition of original photography at Charles Roe House by Martin O'neill taken at one the bands earliest gigs at Bowdon vale youth club. The singing was supplied my pupils from Falibroome Academy

Status: Common resident throughout Ireland.
Conservation Concern: Green-listed in Ireland. The European population has been evaluated as Secure.
Identification: Slightly larger than a Rook. Ages and sexes are similar in appearance. The head, throat and breast are black, as are the wings and tail. The rest of the body can appear either a rather cold grey or buffish gerey-brown depending on the light. Flight action when relaxed is rather weak, however is quick to pusue rators from nest site. Frequently glides and performs aerobatics on windy days.
Similar Species: No other Irish crow species has the extensive beige colouring.
Call: A variety of loud calls, including a harsh “kraa”, as well as a repeated knocking sound which acts as a “song”.
Diet: Omnivorous - including seeds, insects, carrion, young birds and eggs. In coastal areas, will take crabs and molluscs, which may be dropped from a height to crack the hard shell.
Breeding: A widespread and common breeding species in most habitats in Ireland.
Wintering: Largely sedentary within their territories, though large flocks may gather in the evenings at traditional post-breeding roost sites.
Where to See: Widespread in Ireland.
A re-recorded version 'Temptation' was included as part of the greatest hits package 'Substance' in 1987. Adhering to the albums graphical style by Peter Saville (www.petersaville.com), this mock-up of the fan favourite includes the two inner pieces to 'Substance's gatefold vinyl as peripheral objects on the sleeve.
