The level - march - 09..........sorry for the joiner being so crap.

Every time I see the 96 stock train simulator at the Museum I get really annoyed that it's nothing like the real thing. No Connect radio beeping all the time, the distinct lack of all the notches on the TBC (deadman's handle – that red controller), a fully programmable TMS (at least so you could punch in the codes for the various announcements).

I am also quite annoyed by the fact they make the cab twice as large than it actually is! Talk about giving the wrong impression! It's not all a life of luxury at the front – if it was that big, you wouldn't have to keep adjusting the seat forwards and back just to let somebody out of the cab door behind you!

What a Thrift Store SCORE! I was going to rent an elevator operator's jacket for my film noir for $60 a day, but I bought this tonight for eight dollars! Woooo!

The jacket is for the character 'Ham Doiley, world toughest elevator operator' (Ham is short for Hammond) in "Five Bullets, Five Names". Coming soon!

A postcard posted on Saturday the 13th. June 1970.

She's a relief operator for Southern Pacific. _Railroad_ magazine, Oct. 1977. This was the era when this magazine had a lot of "girls and trains" shots, whether it's a woman in a miniskirt waiting for a train, or a woman who works for the railroad...I'm not sure what I think about that, but this is a cool picture. I wonder if that building is still there in Mesa, AZ.
