This year I'm using a different film format each month, starting with the smallest and working my way up through the sizes. The format for November is Polaroid SX-70, which has a slightly larger image area than last month's 6x9cm 120 format.
This was taken with a Polaroid 1000 camera (known as Polaroid Onestep in the US), it uses SX-70 film, which is once more available, having been revived by The Impossible Project a few years ago.
What a great find from the bottom of my closet! View from our Chambers Street apartment window, taken back in 2005.
I use to have an old Polaroid camera that I used only once. Took maybe 5-6 pictures before I threw it out. Now looking back, those are the best photos I've ever taken. Is there a place on earth where I can buy SX-70 film?

ND filter on pack and L/D wheel = 2 notches dark. Shot indoors using natural light (late afternoon). Temp was around 20-21 degrees. Interestingly the dark green leaves of the Hydrangea look more dark purple/black here. The petals also look more purple than they really are.

Japanese Snowbell. Acquired last summer at a local legacy sale (typically a person deceased or too old to take care of their trees). This one was planted in a hollowed lava rock. I managed to get the root mass out of the rock, trimmed up the roots as best as I could and replanted in a new bonsai pot (the third one from bottom in last photo). I didn't mess with the branches or top of the tree, that will be coming.

When they designed this camera they did not think of self-portraits - the lens has a minimum focusing distance of 3 feet. I’m told I have long arms but not that long.
ROID WEEK - DAY 1
196/365 Shadow Toast
One of my CTYW photos of a shandy was featured on the NPR blog, The Salt, today, so I toasted with a shandy and commemorated the event in a polaroid!
