I think I got the expression I was going for.
This is definitly something I need to work on, I never do portraits and this dark portrait was not easy.

2023 Photo 109/256: I saw this tiny doe drinking from a hillside spring as I was walking to the Blue Ridge Tunnel that runs under the mountain between Afton and Waynesboro, Va. The doe still had its winter coat and was obviously not a fawn, but she was so small that I wondered how it possibly could have made it through the winter. ©2023 John M. Hudson | jmhudson1.com
For the group Smile on Saturday! the theme is "a single leaf." I was happy about this theme since there are so many colorful leaves right now.

When we first laid eyes on our puppy (a little over a year before this image of her was taken), the color told us immediately that her name must be Sedona. So, when we had a chance to take her there, of course she had to have multiple photo shoots in the region. This is one of the images from along the Oak Creek, after enduring a long 4x4 adventure that she didn't particularly enjoy, she was pleased to relax and take in the view from a stable seated position.
Congrats on Explore!

"I'm only one call away
I'll be there to save the day
Superman got nothing on me
I'm only one call away
Call me, baby, if you need a friend
I just wanna give you love
Come on, come on, come on
Reaching out to you, so take a chance
No matter where you go
You know you're not alone
I'm only one call away
I'll be there to save the day
Superman got nothing on me
I'm only one call away
Come along with me and don't be scared
I just wanna set you free
Come on, come on, come one
You and me can make it anywhere
For now, we can stay here for a while, ay
'Cause you know, I just wanna see you smile
No matter where you go
You know you're not alone
I'm only one call away
I'll be there to save the day
Superman got nothing on me
I'm only one call away
And when you're weak I'll be strong
I'm gonna keep holding on
Now don't you worry, it won't be long, Darling
And when you feel like hope is gone
Just run into my arms
I'm only one call away
I'll be there to save the day
Superman got nothing on me
I'm only one, I'm only one call away
I'll be there to save the day
Superman got nothing on me
I'm only one call away
I'm only one call away"

But is this really surprising? Can the mathematician who looks at the world mathematically find anything else but mathematics in the universe? Should not one rather ask him whether he has not himself at some time or other looked at the world in a way that is other than mathematical? Whether, for example, he has never seen an apple tree in blossom and wondered why the process of fertilization by the interplay between bees and tree is not effected otherwise than through the roundabout way of the blossom, thus including the completely superfluous wonder of beauty, which again, of course, can only be understood by cooperation, by relying on that which is already beautiful even without us?
... Yet the man who seeks a view of the whole will have to say: In the world we find present, without doubt, objective mathematics; but we also find equally present in the world unparalleled and unexplained wonders of beauty, or, to be more accurate, there are events that appear to the apprehending mind of man in the form of beauty, so that he is bound to say that the mathematician responsible for these events has displayed an unparalleled degree of creative imagination.

Emeraude de Chivor ink: To the fleeting glance the ink appears green. But under varied light and close observation, one finds great nuance with many colors, facets, and flecks of gold present all joining together to make One (word).

With the new greens of spring rapidly emerging, I'm sure it makes perfect sense to post an autumn image! Just going through my files for an upcoming project and thought I'd share one more of this beautiful waterfall.
Have a great weekend, everyone, and thanks for looking, your comments are much appreciated!
A dreary, and rainy Monday evening.
I step in at my favorite sushi takeaway.
The bell on the door annonunces my arrival.
I look around. The place turnes awkwardly silent for a moment.
I look at the guys at the table closest to the door.
They stop eating. Stare at me.
At that moment, I recognize both.
Known to me, but not friends. At all.
Chapter one.
While visiting my daughter in Texas one of my Grandsons had a field trip to the Crocodile Encounter. My daughter and I decided to go and see what it was all about and try to catch a glimpse of my Grandson. We all had a fun time and the weather was fantastic. I even held a snake and a baby alligator! They had lots more animals then just Gators and Crocs!
Happy Fence Friday and hope you too have a laid back weekend!
