Greetings from middle America.

Even the wolf is fearful ... this is the first of 17 shots taken a year ago. Here he hadn't seen me yet.

A gust of wind caresses his fur, bringing him the sound of the camera and perhaps my scent.

Seeing him with his tail between his legs and ears down made me "feel" his fear his thoughts, humanizing him. Then he continued on his journey, turning occasionally to look at me and giving me one last look with straight ears and normal tail. When I look at his photos, I wonder where his journey has led him or if it has "ended."

Back in the day if your smoking material became too small to smoke but too big to toss, you reached into your pocket for this little device. It looks like a key but when squeezed the blade would separate and it became a handy clip. It has remained on my keychain ever since. It has held up quite well over the years, possibly because it was made in the USA.

My keychain.

One and All is the motto that represents unity and inclusiveness and reflects the spirit of Cornish people. The fifteen balls (bezants/coins) on the shield is the coat of arms of the Duke of Cornwall. The bird is a chough and is a small, glossy black crow with a long, curved red bill and a symbol of Cornwall. The crown represents the Duchy of Cornwall. The miner and fisherman represent the trades of what once brought Cornwall much wealth.

This keychain holds my keys and reminds me of my Cornish roots day after day.

HMM!

The Beijing Diary

Street Performer in Temple of Heaven

In my humble opinion, the Temple of Heaven in Beijing is the least "must-see" among Beijing's must-see tourist destinations. Aside from the actual Temple of Heaven, the rest of the temples in this vast place are ordinary by Beijing's temple standards.

But what sets this place apart is the many street performers you will see there. It's a collection of different performers, from musicians, to dancers, to martial artists and some showcasing traditional chinese sports.

Like this charming old chinese playing his traditional musical instrument. After playing, he asked for a dollar from a foreigner video filming him.

"One dollar..."

The caucasian man smiled and walked away.

On Feb. 16, 1976, the Denver & Rio Grande Western assigned a six axle locomotive to work train No. 668, the Tintic Local out of Provo, Utah. Yard trackage in United State's Steel's limestone quarry at Keigley on Tintic Branch was poorly maintained. Rio Grande SD7 5300 had a tough time that day, and nearly derailed numerous times. The experiment was never repeated.

One of the vintage army planes at the Warbirds over Whiteside air show at the Whiteside Co. Airport in Rock Falls,IL. yesterday.Though smaller than previous years, the planes in attendance showed some great history from World War II aviation...

At my delivery in Chehalis Washington, backed into my dock, then grabbed my camera to take this picture. Only 100 feet from the front of my truck. Tough job, huh?

note: My camera is set to Central time zone, but obviously Washington is Pacific, so two hours different.

Here's a link to the other shots I had to pick from. I liked all of them, but had to make a decision.

Bumble Bee getting Lucky.

Sitting on a garden bench at the bottom of the garden which is in a wooded area and looking up and listening to the many birds while finding relief from the blazing sun. Bliss. :-)

...one to go.

Every morning, one of the first things that I do is put in my contact lenses.

Beh, mi sono un pò ammalata.... e così mi sono presa un pò di pausa. A volte servono queste giornate, senza lavoro, senza nulla da fare, con i pensieri liberi di vagare. Un caffè. Qualcosa in televisione. Un libro dimenticato da tempo che si desiderava tanto leggere. E le mie foto da sistemare... :)

Benritrovati a tutti!!!! Piano piano arrivo con i commenti....

Well, I was a bit sick.... so i took a little break. Sometimes we need these days, no work, nothing to do, with the thoughts free to roam. A coffee. Something on TV. A forgotten book that you wanted so much to read. And my photos to arrange ... :)

Welcome back everyone!! Slowly I catch up with you for comments ....
