The bug season is all but gone, but I did manage to find 3 on a walk around the garden. This ladybird was walking around my railings.

I like to see if I can photograph the shot in flight...!

The fields have been harvested, ploughed and re-sown

Words cannot describe how magnificent these Incan terraces are at Pisaq. I will write more but am very tired. Peru. Day 19 of 31.

Today, we drove from Urumbamba to the Pisaq Archeological site, >3400m. Pisaq can also be spelled as Pisac. The day was brightly sunny and soon became hot. We spent a short time exploring the fantastic ruins and terraced area. It is also quite high in altitude.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P%C3%ADsac?wprov=sfla1

Then we were driven down to Pisaq Village on the valley floor, where we were shown a Silver Jewllery shop. I bought a lovely Silver pendant with Incan face in a variety of colours. Then some Empanadas for lunch and a drive to Ollantaytambo ruins. Again spectacular. It was very hot so unfortunately I had to sit in the shade instead of climbing the stepped retaining walls. Then off to the train station and all aboard the Machu Picchu Train, a narrow guage line for a 1hr 40min ride beside the rushing river into the cloud forest area of Machu Picchu town where we stay the night.

Tomorrow is the fabulous Machu Picchu ruins, where I will have to decide on being a Condor(very fit), Puma (moderate) or snake.

I think it may also be hot. Stay tuned!

They say fog is "the photographer's friend", this isn't true when you were planning to photograph Comet A3 today!

Ironically I also discovered that both my front fog lights have blown.

My FB memories were all autumn shots from previous years so I thought as it was such a pleasant autumn day I would go for a circular walk to shoot some colours. Climbed the fence, turned the corner and there they were. Turned around, back over the fence and decided on a linear walk instead, back where I came from.

A million trees were planted in Her Majesty’s name across the nation during the first planting season, October 2021 to March 2022, as part of the Queen's Green Canopy. My village planted 800, and this Red Oak is planted at one of the village entrances. It seems to have survived the very hot, dry summer and is putting on its first autumn show.

Still getting to grips......learning more (again) each day!! Thanks to the #octoberchallenge !! Day 7!

So the plan was to take some photos in Bristol today but as soon as I got there it started raining relentlessly. Luckily, my friend's cat was happy to step into the breach, I don't think she was impressed with the weather either.

Fog is the photographer's friend. The trees seem convinced that it's still summer. I'll revist them later in the month

I think I could have done this better if I'd given it more thought. Hey ho, never mind, determined not to be doing my daily photo at 2300 or later tonight.

Indoors for most of the day so just a quick walk out to catch the last of the sun.

Was going to do something creative with Maltesers today, but you can see how that worked out.

So instead, Mexican Sunflower and Chrysanthemums from the garden, in a charity shop vase, with a couple of my own textures.

October Picture a Day kicks off with some foul weather, heavy rain all day long. My phone got soaked just taking this one picture.

The statue of Richard Hooker outside Exeter Cathedral is just another look-out post for this young gull.

The last day of October and the theme for week 44..... Halloween!

It's always the same when they've been at the University Halloween party.... the hangover is brutal.

It's only Day 6 of the October challenge and already I've use Nigella seed heads twice. Must get out more.

My friend knows me really well; my last birthday card had this troll stuck on the front of it.

My October picture a day photos are likely to be fairly random this year.

Dawn today was stunning. As I continued my journey on the motorway the light got better and better.... but I couldn't stop again. ;-( This opportunistic shot is better than nothing!

I used a triple exposure high dynamic range (HDR) here as it is a pretty extreme scene to capture effectively, the sun was almost blinding... in fact you have to mind your eyes when doing these. View On Black

Losing my momentum a little with the October challenge, but I did make the effort to specifically stop to get a picture for today. That's my car parked back there.

I opened the kitchen blinds this morning to find three female pheasants pecking around on my lawn. By the time I got my camera, one had already gone next door, and the other two were thinking about it

52 Frames Week 43: Nature

The wood is chopped and in the trailer. The chaps are done for the day

Graffiti by the Loddon, as my nephew requested to see it.

This is why I don't go outside on Halloween...

The dogs got a bit wet outside, the log burner was popular though!

Hard to choose the picture of the day.... I'll go with this mountain which I have been admiring all week.

Always keen to meet and greet

Photon 19/31 October Picture a Day

Not much time today, but as the Chrysanthemums are out in the garden I went and took a couple of shots of them with the raindrops, using flash. The background looked a bit messy so I created a new one using the colour of the original.

The end of the October Challenge can only mean one thing... silly Halloween image time!

I was really out of time today for my traditional seasonal shot..... too much going on and rugby to watch too, but quite pleased how this came out considering it was made up on the spot.

The October Challenge is one of my favourite groups. Apologies if I didn't comment as much as usual, time has been short throughout. My 365 project continues so do keep looking, it's getting tougher. (Having said that I will not miss having to come up with TWO shots every day!)
