a very early get up for the sunrise and stags in Bushy Park,. The sunrise lasted all of 20 secs but I think it was worth it.
Hard to choose the picture of the day.... I'll go with this mountain which I have been admiring all week.

Not much time today, but as the Chrysanthemums are out in the garden I went and took a couple of shots of them with the raindrops, using flash. The background looked a bit messy so I created a new one using the colour of the original.
The end of the October Challenge can only mean one thing... silly Halloween image time!
I was really out of time today for my traditional seasonal shot..... too much going on and rugby to watch too, but quite pleased how this came out considering it was made up on the spot.
The October Challenge is one of my favourite groups. Apologies if I didn't comment as much as usual, time has been short throughout. My 365 project continues so do keep looking, it's getting tougher. (Having said that I will not miss having to come up with TWO shots every day!)

A busy/frustrating day meant I took no photos during daylight and the weather was foul outside anyway, so had to faff around tonight looking for something. Maybe the weather made me think of this.
Plan A today was to get up early and go to Bradgate Park, but I was too cosy in bed. Plan B then was a mid morning trip to Attenborough Nature Reserve. Saw this mum and babe as I was just ready to come home.

The normal call to food is Chicky Chicky Chicky! and they come running. Occasionally, when I have tuna in spring water for lunch, I drain off the spring water, mix with some tap water and call Fishy Fishy Fishy! Fishy Fishy Fishy! is a lot more exciting than the alternative.
Today I opened the tuna just for them (I'll have to have the tuna tomorrow whether I want it or not) as 4th October is their birthday and they are 12 today. One shot opportunity I'm afraid, and for some reason I had the wide angle on.
Happy birthday Sammy & Barney.
A scene in my neighbor's back yard photographed with the Lensbaby Double Glass2 lens. The statue faces towards the house, and I've always liked contemplating it. Grass is rare in the Las Vegas region due to the ongoing drought, so most yards have a rock cover.
My October 2 entry for the October Challenge
For one reason or another I'm late uploading for October challenge, although I have photos (hopefully) for each day.
So here is my photo for 29th October - A bedraggled Mexican Sunflower. I've neglected my STF-8 macro flash to the extent that I've almost considered selling it. However having made myself use it a few times lately, it has a reprieve.
Taking Spleencheesemonkey's advice... I travelled to "The Lighthouse" to see what food they had... only to find... a Lighthouse. I thought it was just clever marketing. The cafe was closed!

I've taken shots of 3 or 4 subjects today and wasn't happy with any of them and thought I'd be looking for inspiration late into the night. So I was pleased when I checked files from earlier to find that I actually liked this one. I don't know what it is though, some sort of dead flower head?
Experimented with a gold filter on a Hobolight softbox then processed it in Lightroom. I probably over-processed it. Used a Lensbaby double glass2 lens but will start using my macro lens also.

Say hello to Julitta again!
Ever tried to use the Tiltshift mode of a Leica Q? It's not easy, but once you make it work, it's just great.
During the #OctoberChallenge I'll try to show photographs that were shot only with the Leica Q.
Powderham Castle, Kenton....Autumn, Early morning (6.30am) capture. Phone from camera download (I'll get myself together to upload direct at some point this week!)
This spider has his web on the conservatory window between the two side bars so I had to squash up against the widows to get this angle, trying hard not to touch the web and make him run. Image rotated 90 degrees.

A break in the recent downpours meant a rush to the beach this morning to blow the cobwebs away.
2011 October Challenge Winning image.
I hadn't done my photo for today, and noticed some white backlit clouds up the field. Dash out, but they'd gone time I got there. Instead a double exposure of the red sky and a street scene.
Photo 11/10 for October picture a day.
Photo 78 for the 117 Pictures in 1017 Group - Prongs.
Also photo 19/31 for the October Picture a day Group. Mixed Veg.
I had only 30 minutes to do the 'shot of the day' for the October Challenge. Time to fall back on an old favourite!
This has been deselected as the shot of the day. I think this is more artistic.... the other is more interesting in terms of detail and if you know Dawlish.
A Virgin Express train blasts through the Kennaway Tunnel leading to Dawlish Station. Y'see! I've got the train spotting anorak to go with the photography one....0.50 second exposure, no filters... but I did remember to bring my tripod this time View On White
