The Via Crucis, Living Stations of the Cross, is an annual Good Friday tradition at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dalton, Georgia, USA (a 5000 family, 90% Hispanic parish). They are a loving, faithful work of the people of the community, attended by thousands.
I took these pictures when I was pastor there from 2009 to 2022. I always tried to capture the crowds, the individuals, the faces, the emotions, and the pathos of the scenes, in addition to the photogenic and thematic contrasts, colors, textures, and just plain beauty of the scenes.
Over the years, you'll see the actors change and grow up, to the point where, by 2019, the kids who were babes in arms in the early years wanted to put on their own version (the last group of photos). Many of our special needs kids played a big role.
One of the actors who played Jesus went on to West Point and is now serving our country. Other young people in these photos went on to college, but came back to serve our community in various fields, including law and medicine.
Back then, I used a Nikon D40, then a Nikon D3200. These pictures have been enhanced for color and texture with Darktable software.

There is one thing the photograph must contain, the humanity of the moment.
We are making photographs to understand what our lives mean to us.
The best thing about a picture is that it never changes, even when the people in it do.
The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.
I really believe there are things nobody would see if I didn’t photograph them.

2.5 carat lot of 5 white clear uncut diamonds, 0.5 carat each, Octahedron shape from Russia, sparkling white diamonds
These are uncut diamonds, also known as rough diamonds or raw diamonds and are basically the natural form of the diamond before they're cut and faceted into a polished diamond.
They are real genuine diamonds and can be cut by any diamond cutter into a polished diamond.
Diamond weight: 0.5 carat per diamond.
Number of Stones: 5
Total Carat Weight: 2.5 carat
Size: approx. 4 mm.
Color: white
Clarity: clear
Shape: Octahedron
Country of Origin: Russia (Conflict free)
You will receive the exact diamonds shown in the photos.
This is a true photo of the raw diamond; the photo has not been retouched or modified in any way.
Since most people are so used to only seeing the polished diamonds in the market, some of you may be surprised that these stones are actually diamonds. But yes, raw diamonds actually come in a variety of different colors, shapes and sizes, and are a delight to the eye!
All the diamonds we sell are real genuine diamonds. The exact same diamonds that are usually cut into polished diamonds.
But don't take our word for it, any 'diamond tester' which can be purchased on Ebay/Amazon for as low as $13 will confirm that. You can also show the diamonds to your local jeweler, and if he has any experience dealing with rough diamonds, he'll be able to attest to that too.
You can mount these uncut diamonds in jewelry as they are, or have them sent to be cut into polished diamonds.
All of our diamonds are 100% naturally mined and haven't been cut, faceted, polished, or undergone any kind of process whatsoever. This makes them ideal for an investment, since while polished diamond prices fluctuate, rough diamonds only appreciate over the years.
Our diamonds are personally guaranteed to be conflict free. We strictly follow the Kimberly Process Procedures to stop conflict diamonds or blood diamonds from entering the market.
You would be getting a Kimberly Process Guarantee in every order.
The Diamonds we sell are in full compliance with the rules and regulations set under the resolutions passed by the United Nations.

Diamonds are the hardest substance in the world, created billions and billions of years ago. They represent love and romance, and were historically used for healing purposes.

Pictures of our quiet day at sea on our short cruise. These were taken on August 6th, 2024 on our sea day. We were moving very slowly around in circles west of San Diego - just killing time before heading to Catalina Island. Included are some screen shots from MarineTraffic. On board the Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas for a short four night cruise from Los Angeles, California. The cruise leaves Los Angeles with stops at Avalon (Santa Catalina Island) and Ensenada, Mexico (August 5th through August 9th, 2024).
With COVID-19 essentially shutting down campuses all across America and the world, there are few normal days to be had. Like most of my colleagues at the University of Michigan, I have been working from home. There is also a "stay at home" order in the state that really strongly encourages people to stay in (to flatten the curve). In the Governor's order, we do have the freedom to participate in outdoor activities - as long as we keep a social distance of 6 feet. I keep at least enough room for the Holy Spirit to drive a car between me and anyone I am with. So today, I went to campus to see and feed my squirrel friends. I have not seen them over a week and missed them a great deal. So off to campus I went. I did not get within six feet of anyone NOT a squirrel or a turkey (that is another story). I did see my squirrel friend Juli and a faculty member - but we did keep our distance! In regards to the squirrels it was a banner day and I took a lot of pictures! Besides seeing all the squirrels and feeding them (with a big old bag of peanuts), it was quite exciting. I was able to see Lefty, my favorite three pawed squirrel over by the Law Quad. I also saw, for the first time this year, a number of juveniles making their way in the world. These little ones are over by Mason Hall. I think there are three siblings - they are so cute and still climbing trees very tentatively. With fewer people out - I think they were more willing to head out and about. Be safe everyone - we will get through this. Sending love and virtual hugs from Ann Arbor, Michigan. Pictures from the University of Michigan on Friday March 27th, 2020.

We did 12,000 or so steps on Saturday, but we knew we would crush that today. I had looked at the map, and a plan had come together.
Only, I have man flu, and as the day went on my temperature went up and up and I was sweating for England. And sneezing. I was a mess. But also driven to take snaps and see thing I have only dreamed of seeing.
First of all we walked up Greenwich Street for about ten blocks, past all these grand old buildings, offices and tree lined streets, not having a village feel, but this was The Village.
We stopped off for breakfast at a café, sat at a table and pretended it wasn’t trying to rain. We both have pancakes and either bacon or sausage, and lashings of syrup. And plenty of hot joe.
Refuelled, we set off north some more, until we went one block west and in front of us, was the start of the High Line. The High Line is an old elevated freight railway, that has now been converted to a walk and wildflower garden.
But before we walked that, we had an appointment with Mr Hopper at the Whitney Gallery. And we were half an hour ahead of schedule, so we sat outside a while, just resting up. I got talking to an artist who had set up a stall to sell her work, and got onto the subject of copyright theft as she thought I had snapped her work, and I said I would not do that as I respected people’s work.
She was very pleasantly surprised, and so we had a long talk, until it was time to go into the museum.
We went to the top of the building, out to the viewing platforms to get views over the city to the huge scrapers in Uptown.
Contemporary art can be challenging, and not all floats my boat, but there were some great stuff in there. And some blank canvasses, that’s all I’m saying.
Outside again, we buy a drink and a pretzel, then climb the steps onto the High Line and find a place to sit and eat.
From a late dress rehearsal of the MAHS production of the musical "Man of La Mancha". These were taken on Tuesday night, and the show opens 48 hours later on Thursday. I missed the very beginning of the rehearsal, so I don't have any shots from the opening scene or two.

Port Erin, on the southwest coast of the Isle of Man. It boasts this picturesque harbour and a lovely sandy beach.
Taken on our recent holiday , this could almost be mistaken for a small harbour in "The Med" somewhere.
