The Tinker Bell Candle Medium Figure by Ron Cohee. It depicts Tinker Bell on Captain Hook's desk. She is sitting atop the cork of a wine or liquor jug, which has a map of Neverland wrapped around it. The jug is glued to the top of a book that is lying down. Next to the book is an inkwell with a quill pen, and a candle. The figure has a circular base that is made to look like wood.
Tinker Bell is a beautifully painted 4 inch figure who is glued to a cork with a magnet on the bottom. It matches a magnet inside of the jug. The cork can be spun around 360. The map is made of canvas, and is partially plasticized to make it stiffer. The ends of the map are rolled up, with one end pinned to the jug and the other end pinned to the base of the figure. The printing of Neverland is upside down, but is readable and is based on the map of Neverland created by Disney for the 1953 animated film Peter Pan. The inkwell is a separate piece that has a hinged cap, with three holes inside through which to put the quill. The quill is a 12'' long white imitation feather. The candle also a separate piece. It has an LED that puts out flickering yellow light for about 30 seconds before automatically going out. The candle can be tapped to light up again. Both the inkwell and candle have two small magnets in the bottom, that match magnets in the base of the figure.
The figure weighs a hefty 8.75 pounds. The base is 12 inches in diameter, and the figure is 15 inches high when fully assembled. It costs $125. The base is fully lined with felt on the bottom, and the figure is very stable. It is the most impressive figure based on the original Peter Pan movie that I have ever seen.
I visited Disneyland on Thanksgiving November 27, 2014. I got two recently released medium figures from the World of Disney store. They are both by Disney artist Ron Cohee, are made of resin, and are part of the Art of Disney Theme Parks collection. They are called "Flora, Fauna and Merryweather" and "Tinker Bell Candle".

She was a beauty--a gold 45 goddess for sure! A Gold 45 Goddess exalts the archetypal form of Athena--the Greek Goddess of wisdom, warfare, strategy, heroic endeavour, handicrafts and reason. A Gold 45 Goddess guards the beauty of dx4/dt=ic and embodies 45SURF's motto "Virtus, Honoris, et Actio Pro Veritas, Amor, et Bellus, (Strength, Honor, and Action for Truth, Love, and Beauty," and she stands ready to inspire and guide you along your epic, heroic journey into art and mythology. It is Athena who descends to call Telemachus to Adventure in the first book of Homer's Odyssey--to man up, find news of his true father Odysseus, and rid his home of the false suitors, and too, it is Athena who descends in the first book of Homer's Iliad, to calm the Rage of Achilles who is about to draw his sword so as to slay his commander who just seized Achilles' prize, thusly robbing Achilles of his Honor--the higher prize Achilles fought for. And now Athena descends once again, assuming the form of a Gold 45 Goddess, to inspire you along your epic journey of heroic endeavour.

(Wikipedia: Schanigarten is the Austro-Bavarian term for tables and chairs set up on the sidewalk in front of eating and drinking places. Unlike normal beer gardens (Gastgärten), the customers actually sit on public property. Originally, Schanigärten (pl.) referred only to Viennese coffee houses, but now the expression is used in other parts of Austria and for other types of establishments like restaurants and taverns)

The Café Landtmann in Vienna is a typical Viennese coffee house in the Ringstrasse style. It is located in the first District at the University Ring 4, corner Löwelstraße 22, and is known throughout the city.
Location
The cafe is located on the ground floor of the Palais Lieben-Auspitz called Mietwohnhauses (apartment building), in the immediate vicinity of the Burgtheater, the University of Vienna and the party headquarters of the Social Democrats and close to the Vienna City Hall with the City Hall Park, the Federal Chancellery and three ministries. The café is therefore frequented by, among other actors, politicians, civil servants and journalists and is the venue for press conferences.
History
The coffee was on 1 October 1873 of the Cafétier (café owner) Landtmann as "Vienna 's most elegant and largest café-localities" in a prominent, 1872 built corner house at the at the time also new Franzensring (so to 1919 the address of this part of Vienna's Ringstrasse) opened. The ring road was indeed opened by emperor Franz Joseph I in 1865, but still long not completed in the area of the coffee house: The city hall was under construction since 1872, but was only opened in 1883. The university main building was built 1877-1884, the Burgtheater from 1874 to 1888. The coffee was thus in his early years surrounded mainly by large construction sites.
1881 sold Landtmann his coffeehouse to the brothers Wilhelm and Rudolf Kerrl who continued it under the name Landtmann and extended it in the direction of Oppolzergasse. Rudolf soon retired from active business life, Wilhelm Kerrl led on the café alone until 1916 and then sold it, worn down by the economy of scarcity of the First World War, to Karl Anton Kraus, previously a butcher and innkeeper. He led the coffee for only five years, because in 1921 it was operated by a Hokare Ges.mbH (unlimited company) (the name stands for hotel, coffee and restoration companies). This company had to be liquidated 1925/1926.
The Café Landtmann was now bought in the fall of 1926 by Mr. and Mrs. Conrad and Angela Zauner. The new owners had it in 1929 after a design by Ernst Meller, experienced in the establishment of coffee houses, fully restored: with the preserved to this day interior which is under preservation order. Particularly striking are four wooden pillars at the entrance, which were created by Hans Scheibner and their decoration representing premiere scenes of the Burgtheater. With this elaborate interior design Landtmann consolidated its position as the most elegant café in town. In 1949, Konrad Zauner's son Erwin took the management of the café and led it on with great success.
In 1974 the company received the National Award and since then it is allowed to use the Federal coat of arms in commercial transactions. In 1976, the present owner family took the local and renovated it in 1980 again.
In the café was Robert Böck, on duty only called Mr. Robert, working for 28 years, many years as head waiter in a tuxedo, and he knew all the important guests personally. On his last working day, on 23 December 2003, many celebrities came to his departure from the cafe. Mayor Michael Häupl served Mr. Robert, who had so often served him a "little brown". To this end, he handed him the "Golden Rathausmann" "for the most famous, most discreet and most accommodating waiter of Vienna".

Details
Small stage
In the basement below the coffee was after Czeike already 1936-1938 the Cabaret 'Merry Landtmann" for the dancer Cilli Wang set up by her husband. 1953 in the basement the small stage "The Tribune" was established (since 2002: "The new stand", directed by Karl Heinz Wukow). It is one of the numerous small Viennese theaters that operate with modest public support and which offer authors, actors and directors fields of application.
Winter Garden
2007 was built a conservatory on the facade towards the castle theater, designed by Manfred Wehdorn by 1.5 million euros (Bernd Querfeld). With 87 square meters and 29 tables, the conservatory is almost as spacious as the great hall of the café; thus the capacity of the premises has been extended by a quarter.
Landtmann's Bel-Etage
2012 were opened above the café three function rooms, which are referred to as "Landtmann's Bel-Etage". One of the rooms is named after Berta Zuckerkandl, which in the house (entrance Oppolzergasse 6) from 1917 to 1938 run her famous salon, meeting place of artists, scientists and politicians.
Price of water
2013 got the coffee into media because guests who instead of ordering other beverages only want drink tap water this service no longer receive free. The scheme has been criticized partly violently. The glass of water for ordered coffee, as it corresponds to the Viennese coffee house tradition, still is served free.
Miscellaneous
In the Café Landtmann are according to indications of the owner family on average held 2.8 press conferences per day.
Since 2003, the café is every summer venue of the coffee house theater ink & coffee.
In March 2009, was opened in Tokyo in the central district of Minato-ku, in fact, in the district Kitaaoyama in the Aoyama Street, a "Café Landtmann" called local opened.
Guests
The coffee house was according to Czeike visited, among others, by the artists Attila Hörbiger, Paul Hörbiger, Oskar Kokoschka, Hans Moser, Max Reinhardt, Oskar Werner and Paula Wessely. Among the politicians he names Julius German, Robert Dannenberg and Karl Seitz, who were part of the "Red Vienna", and in the postwar period the then very popular Chancellor Julius Raab. Gustav Mahler was encountering here with Karl Goldmark, Gary Cooper and Marlene Dietrich were among the "by-trotting" guests, the authors Jura Soyfer, Felix Salten, Thomas Mann and John Boynton Priestley also frequented the Landtmann. The owners themselves mention over and above Peter Altenberg, Sigmund Freud, Emmerich Kálmán, Curd Jürgens, Otto Preminger and Romy Schneider as regulars.
Personal comment in view of recent events.....
Firstly, how are they going to enforce this new ruling as many look so convincing. Secondly, where do we go to ‘powder our noses’? Thirdly, how are they going to know that a trans woman isn’t a woman from birth? This has all been created by radical cis women, outspoken trans activists and a small minority of men, claiming to be trans, using it to their own devices! It’s not over by a long shot!
I'm no threat to anyone....... I just enjoy being me and presenting as such. x
Commentary.
In this image I am around the 900 metres (2,950 foot) mark on the south side of Ben Nevis.
Having started in Glen Nevis near the gorge, I followed the torrential burn, the Allt Coire Eoghainn.
It is a series of 30-40° cataracts and waterfalls gushing,
leaping and pounding down bare rock to the Waters of Nevis.
After a steep two-hour climb, one enters the vast amphitheatre of the corrie called Coire Eoghainn.
This makes up much of the south side of Ben Nevis and at its upper sections includes a vast boulder field of ice-shattered rock with some boulders measuring 3-4 metres across.
This shot was taken just as I entered the lip of the corrie.
In the foreground are the rock-strewn slopes of Carn Dearg, 1020 metres (3,347 feet).
The large wooded corrie on the west side (left) of Glen Nevis is Coire Dearg.
The smaller corrie (top right) is Coire Riabach.
The peak, between these two corries, dead centre, with the cairn is Mullach nan Coirean at 939 metres (3,081 feet).
Looming above this ridge are two of the peaks, across Loch Leven, that make up the Horseshoe known as Beinn a Bheithir.
Left at 1,024 metres (3,360 feet) is Sgorr Dearg.
Second left is Sgorr Donhuill at 1,001 metres (3,284 feet).
Loch Linnhe was now visible (top right) where Morvern (headland) turns right or north-west up the Sound of Mull from Loch Linnhe.
The mountains (top right) are on Mull, west of Glen More.
The small “hyphenated” island is Liath Sgeir, a rock near
the southern end of the Island of Lismore, which is just out of sight.
The haul up the slope of Ben Nevis is hard-going and relentless.
Two kilometres at 30-40° with 20-30kg. on my back.
But when you start to see the map open up in front of your eyes, in reality, it all becomes worthwhile!
Roker is a tourist resort and affluent area of Sunderland, North East England, bounded on the south by the River Wear and Monkwearmouth, on the east by the North Sea, to the west by Fulwell and on the north by Seaburn. It is administered as part of the City of Sunderland and lies within historic County Durham.
The majority of the houses in Roker are terraced or semi-detached. Further west, to the part bordering Fulwell, are cul-de-sacs with semi-detached bungalows, these being owned mainly by members of Roker's sizeable elderly population. On Roker Terrace (Roker's main street) are exclusive apartments and hotels which overlook the seafront.
In addition to Seaburn seafront, the coast at Roker seafront plays host to Sunderland International Airshow, the biggest free airshow in Europe, which takes place each year, usually over the last weekend in July.
The story of Roker began in 1587, when the Abbs family were granted land on the north side of the River Wear on the condition that they provided six soldiers to defend the mouth of the river. Fast forward to 1840, when Roker Terrace was built upon the cliff tops, along with Monkwearmouth baths and Roker Park soon after. The pier and lower promenade were built six years later. In 1898 Roker Park Stadium was built and Roker became known worldwide for being home to Sunderland A.F.C. The stadium was used for ninety-nine years until 1997. In the early 20th century Roker became a hugely popular resort for locals and tourists alike, and in 1928 it was taken over by the Borough of Sunderland, along with Fulwell and Seaburn.
In 1995 Roker Park Conservation Area was declared
St Andrew's Church (1905–07) is recognised as one of the finest churches of the first half of the twentieth century and the masterpiece of Edward Schroeder Prior.
One well-known landmark of sorts in Roker is the Bungalow Cafe, which is an old-fashioned café in a tiny bungalow on the upper promenade. Also famous is the signpost next to the café, marked: "To Beach" (pointing towards the beach), "To Village" (pointing into Roker), "To Bungalow" (pointing to the cafe), and "To Germany" (pointing out to sea).
A museum is located in the Roker Watch House which was originally opened in 1906 as the headquarters of the Roker Volunteer Life Brigade. It is open every Sunday afternoon and on Bank Holiday Mondays.
Other nearby landmarks are the statue of Bede's cross on the cliff top near Roker Park and St Peter's Church, Monkwearmouth. The cross recognises the work of the Venerable Bede, who worked in the North-East all his life at the twin monasteries of Wearmouth and Jarrow. There is bid for the twin monasteries to gain World Heritage Site status.
From 1717 the newly formed River Wear Commission began to improve the harbour entrance at the mouth of the Wear. By 1750 a pair of breakwaters had been built (which survive in truncated form as the 'Old' North and South Piers).
By the beginning of the next century each had a lighthouse at its end. (The lighthouse which stands today in Roker Cliff Park originally stood on the Old South Pier; it was deactivated in 1903 and removed eighty years later.)
With the growth of Sunderland as a port, it was decided to improve the approach to the river by creating an outer harbour, protected by a new pair of new breakwaters curving out into the North Sea from the shore on each side. The new piers were the brainchild of Henry Hay Wake, who at the age of 25 had been appointed Chief Engineer to the River Wear Commission (in succession to Thomas Meik) in 1868. The foundation stone for the New North Pier (Roker Pier) was laid on 14 September 1885. Applauded at the time as a triumph of engineering, the 1,198 ft (365 m) pier is built of granite-faced concrete blocks, which were loaded onto wagons at River Weir Works by a Goliath crane and unloaded and placed at the end of the pier by a Titan crane.
The opposite 'New South Pier' was begun at around the same time but never fully completed due to the start of the First World War; the twin lighthouse planned for its end was never built.
The lighthouse at the pier head was completed in 1903. Its distinctive stripes are of naturally coloured red and white Aberdeen granite. When built it was said to be Britain's most powerful port lighthouse. Equipped with a third-order rotating catadioptric optic (consisting of a single-panel Fresnel lens backed by a prismatic mirror), it displayed a single flash every five seconds. The lighthouse had initially (like its predecessors) been lit by gas from the town mains, but the supply to the end of the pier was found to be intermittent so the gas light was soon replaced by a Chance Brothers incandescent petroleum vapour mantle lamp. This increased the effective intensity of the light from 40,000 to 150,000 candle power, to give it a range of 15 nautical miles (28 km; 17 mi).
A fog siren was also provided, powered by compressed air from a pair of 7-horsepower gas engines located in the basement. It gave a two-second blast every twenty seconds in foggy weather from a sounder on the parapet, which was regulated by clockwork.
The light was semi-automated in 1936 when a new light system was installed by AGA. The main lamp was a 750-watt incandescent light bulb, with a gas mantle lamp (fed from the town supply) provided as a stand-by, activated by an automatic lamp changer; and a small electric motor automatically wound the clockwork which rotated the lens.
Full automation followed in 1972, when the old optic was replaced by two back-to-back arrays of six sealed beam units mounted on an AGA gearless rotating pedestal, to give the light an increased range of 23 nautical miles (43 km; 26 mi); a new fog horn was also provided at the same time. The system was supervised remotely from the Pilot House on the Old North Pier. Subsequent to its removal the 1903 optic was added to the maritime collection of Sunderland Museum and Art Gallery.
In 2007 the lighting system was again replaced with a dual-drive Pelangi PRL400 rotating pedestal and lamp.
Roker Pier Lighthouse still functions today. Both pier and lighthouse have undergone significant refurbishment in recent years. In 2012, as part of the restoration, a new flashing LED lamp array was installed, replacing the small Pelangi unit previously in use. In 2018, following a comprehensive six-year process of refurbishment, the lighthouse was opened to the public for the first time; regular guided tours now take place, with access provided by way of the tunnel which runs the length of the pier.
On the site of Sunderland AFC's former stadium is a small housing estate, its street names all being references to the football club (Clockstand Close, Goalmouth Close, Promotion Close, Midfield Drive etc.). The streets in between Roker Baths Road and Roker Avenue are all named after members of William Ewart Gladstone's cabinet (Gladstone, Hartington, Forster, Bright, Stansfield, and so on).

Melbourne based street artist Rone (Tyrone Wright) used the decaying glory of the 1933 Harry Norris designed Streamline Moderne mansion, Burnham Beeches in the Dandenong Ranges' Sherbrooke, between March the 6th and April 22nd to create an immersive hybrid art space for his latest installation exhibition; "Empire".
"Empire" combined a mixture of many different elements including art, sound, light, scent, found objects, botanic designs, objects from nature and music especially composed for the project by Nick Batterham. The Burnham Beeches project re-imagines and re-interprets the spirit of one of Victoria’s landmark mansions, seldom seen by the public and not accessed since the mid 1980s. According to Rone - Empire website; "viewers are invited to consider what remains - the unseen cultural, social, artistic and spiritual heritage which produces intangible meaning."
Rone was invited by the current owner of Burnham Beeches, restaurateur Shannon Bennett, to exhibit "Empire" during a six week interim period before renovations commence to convert the heritage listed mansion into a select six star hotel.
Rone initially imagined the mansion to be in a state of dereliction, but found instead that it was a stripped back blank canvas for him to create his own version of how he thought it should look. Therefore, almost all the decay is in fact of Rone's creation from grasses in the Games Room which 'grow' next to a rotting billiards table, to the damp patches, water staining and smoke damage on the ceilings. Nests of leaves fill some spaces, whilst tree branches and in one case an entire avenue of boughs sprout from walls and ceilings. Especially designed Art Deco wallpaper created in Rone's studio has been installed on the walls before being distressed and damaged. The rooms have been adorned with furnishings and objects that might once have graced the twelve original rooms of Burnham Beeches: bulbulous club sofas, half round Art Deco tables, tarnished silverware and their canteen, mirrored smoke stands of chrome and Bakelite, glass lamps, English dinner services, a glass drinks trolley, photos of people long forgotten in time, walnut veneer dressing tables reflecting the installation sometimes in triplicate, old wire beadsteads, luggage, shelves of books, an Underwood typewriter, a John Broadwood and Sons of London grand piano and even a Kriesler radiogramme. All these objects were then covered in a thick sheet or light sprinkling of 'dust' made of many different things including coffee grinds and talcum powder, creating a sensation for the senses. Burnham Beeches resonated with a ghostly sense of its former grandeur, with a whiff of bittersweet romance.
Throughout the twelve rooms, magnificent and beautifully haunting floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall portraits of Australian actress Lily Sullivan, star of the Foxtel re-make of Picnic at Hanging Rock, appear. Larger than life, each portrait is created in different colours, helping to create seasonal shifts as you move from room to room.
Although all the rooms are amazing for many different reasons, there are two major standouts. The Study features walls of books covered with a portrait of Lily Sullivan, and the entire room is partially submerged in a lake of black water with the occasional red oak leaf floating across its glassy surface. The Dining Room features two long tables covered in a Miss Havisham like feast of a trove of dinner table objects from silverware and glassware to empty oyster shells and vases of grasses and feathers.
The Dining Room installation I found especially confronting. In 1982, I visited Burnham Beeches when it was a smart and select hotel and had Devonshire tea in the dining room at a table alongside the full length windows overlooking the terraces below. I was shocked to see a room I remember appointed with thick carpets and tables covered in gleaming silver and white napery, strewn with dust and leaves, and adorned with Miss Havisham's feast of found dining objects.
I feel very honoured and privileged to be amongst the far too few people fortunate enough to have seen Rone's "Empire", as like the seasons, it is ephemeral, and it will already have been dismantled. Rone's idea is that, like his street art, things he creates don't last forever, and that made the project exciting. I hope that my photographs do justice to, and adequately share as much as is possible of this amazing installation with you.

The History of Snow Hill, a mural along side Snow Hill Railway Station in Birmingham, West Midlands.
The original mural was set up in St Chad's Queensway by Kenneth Budd and associates to celebrate the history of Snow Hill station, which had closed in 1972. The mural was destroyed in 2007, in 2013, Kenneth Budd's son Oliver Budd remade the mural in miniature, in Colmore Circus, near the top of Colmore Row.
Snow Hill station was revived in the mid-1980s, with a new rebuilt station opening in 1987. The mural contains two plaques which give the history of the Great Western Railway between London Paddington and Snow Hill station, as well as the history of the murals themselves.
The first plaque shows A History of the Great Western Railway. Construction of the Great Western Railway line to Snow Hill began in 1847. Isambard Kingdom Brunel was the engineer in charge and the contractors were called Peto and Betts. By 1852 the 129 mile track from Paddington to Birmingham was complete.
The first Snow Hill station was open in 1852. A special "Eve of Opening" train left London Paddington pulled by Daniel Gooch's "Lord of the Isles" which had been on show at The Great Exhibition. This was derailed at Aynho but successfully completed the journey the following day after a change of engine. Nine years later the tarck was extended to London Paddington providing a 3 hour 20 minute express service. Unheated carriages were lit by oil pot lamps and bar and disc signals were operated from trackside capstans.
In 1871 a new station was built to accommodate the great increase in traffic. A familiar sight at the turn of the century was Dash the station dog, his collection box strapped to his back. Between 1909-1914 the "old" station was replaced by Snow Hill in its final form without interruption to regular services.
Snow Hill continued as part of Western Region until 1967 when it ceased operation as a main line station, although a restricted local service to Wolverhampton lingered on until 1972
The mosaic you see here is a miniature of the original work that once dominated St Chad's Circus by Kenneth Budd and associates. The original was 300 ft long with varying heights to a maximum of 20 ft at the works centre, It took three years to create and was installed in 1969. The work was made in gold leaf and glass mosaic manufactured by Orsoni in Venice set around with a light and dark stone aggregate. The original lettering panels were carved by stonemason Michael Seymour. The new work by Kenneth's son Oliver Budd is a faithful facsimile of the original design.

....Day of the Dead. Today New Mexicans across the state celebrate Day of the Dead. Albuquerque celebrated, with 7000 people descending on the South Valley to join in or watch the Marigold Parade. This has to be one of the most spectacular parades so if ever you get the chance to celebrate the day of the dead do so! Don't be afraid to get dressed up and paint your face, you'll not be alone! Here's just a few of the hundreds of pics I took :)
Día de los Muertos is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and around the world in other cultures. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. The celebration takes place around October 31, November 1 and November 2, (here in NM November 3 this year) in connection with the Christian triduum of Hallowmas: All Hallows' Eve, All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day. Traditions connected with the holiday include building private altars called ofrendas honoring the deceased using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed and visiting graves with these as gifts. They also leave possessions of the deceased. More here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Day_of_the_Dead
“God speaks in the silence of the heart.
Listening is the beginning of prayer.”
(Mother Teresa)
This picture is the first of a triptych showing a Sikh devotee taking a deep and praying in the Immortal Nectar of the Harmandir Sahib, the Golden Temple of Amritsar, the holiest city in Sikhism located in the Indian state of Punjab.
The temple is surrounded by a large Sarovar which is a Punjabi terms used for a manmade lake.
It is known as the AmritSar, the Lake of Holy Water or the Immortal Nectar.
Like many devotees who visit this shrine this young man is bathing in the pool as the Sikhs believe that spiritual and worldly benefits are gained by immersing in the holy waters of this Sarovar.
In a future shaped by the harsh realities of the climate crisis, deserts have expanded across vast areas of the world. The scarcity of water and relentless drought have rendered the land barren, while devastating wildfires have eradicated vegetation and life. In this new world, where rain has become a rare luxury, new deserts have emerged in what were once fertile regions. Humanity had forgotten that there were once peoples who lived and thrived in the desert—the nomads of the Sahara.
By a remarkable stroke of luck, a large, forgotten library was discovered in the region formerly known as Timbuktu. This discovery became a revelation, a beacon of hope in an otherwise bleak time. The library contained invaluable manuscripts and wisdom from the past, which could unveil the secrets behind the nomads' ability to survive in harsh desert conditions. In the many caves and underground grottos around Timbuktu, ancient documents were unearthed, bringing new knowledge to light.
This photo series explores the rediscovery of this forgotten wisdom, providing a glimpse into how our ancestors navigated life's challenges in the desert. Through these images, ancient truths are brought to life once more, inspiring us to learn from the nomads of the past, as we seek new paths forward in a world grappling with climate change.
In the sands of time, where dunes now rise,
A future unfolds under sunburned skies.
Forgotten whispers of a people long gone,
Nomads who thrived in the desert's dawn.
From Timbuktu's hidden troves they emerge,
Ancient tomes with knowledge to purge.
Beneath the earth, in caves so deep,
The secrets of survival, awake from sleep.
The world once forgot these sun-scorched lands,
But hope rekindles with ink-stained hands.
From parchments brittle, wisdom flows,
As past and present in the desert grows.
Haikus:
Lost in shifting sands,
Ancient voices rise again,
Nomads’ truths untold.
Dust of ages past,
Timbuktu’s wisdom revealed,
Hope in arid lands.

When I was a little girl of about ten, my parents bought me a guitar. I had ached to have one and finally was off to my first lesson. I couldn't stand it. Somehow I felt frustrated with learning how to play rather than just playing. I quit. Twelve years later, the enthusiasm came again when I bought a guitar from a bartender in a restaurant I was working in. I would hold it and do simple strums and murmur strange sounds from deep within. I could not bring forth what I felt. Frustration would always come. A few years later, a man came into my life who listened to my humming and strumming. In his light I found the confidence to explore the vast ocean of feelings inside. He used to write me love songs and encouraged me to write songs with him. After he passed away, I picked up his guitar and under the guidance of a great Teacher found a pathway to the songs that waited for me to find them. These songs have helped me conquer grief, find forgiveness, maintain balance in all aspects of my day to day living. They have helped me to cultivate my inner self with higher ideals through aspirational poems and creative images. They are the medicine that my life journey came to share. Finally I understand Rabindranth Tagore's words with all my heart. I am One with his Vision.

Bold, sculptural, and utterly unique, the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption rises from San Francisco’s Cathedral Hill like a modernist monument to faith and form. Completed in 1971, this Roman Catholic cathedral is the mother church of the Archdiocese of San Francisco and one of the most striking pieces of religious architecture in the United States.
Designed collaboratively by architect Pietro Belluschi and the acclaimed firm of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the cathedral replaces an earlier structure destroyed by fire. Its most distinctive feature is the hyperbolic paraboloid roof—a soaring concrete shell that curves with an almost ethereal lightness despite its brutalist materiality. The vertical black glass spine that slices the facade heightens the drama, while the minimalist base and open plaza keep the focus on the structure’s graceful geometry.
The cathedral’s design speaks a powerful architectural language: futuristic yet grounded, minimal yet monumental. It has drawn comparisons to both origami and space-age design, and remains a source of both spiritual awe and architectural debate. Whether you're a devotee, an architecture buff, or a photographer chasing lines and light, this cathedral offers a truly iconic perspective.
Located in the heart of San Francisco, just above Japantown and near Pacific Heights, the Cathedral of Saint Mary is more than a place of worship—it’s a bold artistic and civic statement that continues to inspire wonder more than 50 years after its completion.
Life isn't always a bed of roses,if it was we'd all be bored sick of this beautiful and fragrant flower by now.Sometimes life is a bed of lillies, sometimes daisies, sometimes tulips and sometimes there wont be any bed and you'll have to sleep on the floor, like this man.
We just need to learn to deal with our everchanging situations to the best of our abilities and in the process also learn to appreciate the simple pleasures that life has to offer. It may not be all that you dreamed of but its still always worthwhile.Life is incomplete without its ups and downs. Lets hope and pray there are more ups in our lives than downs:)

Our middle-school students at Tam High are building a City of the Future together, using arts and electronics to make a model of what our world may be like in 100 years.
In our sixth class, students worked in teams to make public spaces for their city: underwater mines, segregated neighborhoods, surface rubbles and gated skyscrapers for the rich. This week’s creations included a new city sign, more ladders, more mine workers, and tall, skinny towers scraping the crimson sky.
They also agreed on a final name for their city: 15A, named after its sector coordinates. In their post-apocalyptic city of the future, the rich are separated from the poor, who mine the sea floor and are oppressed by a government run by machines.
I am teaching this after-school class with Geo Monley and Cynthia Gilbert, and we are happy to see our students so engaged in this project. Through this course, they are developing a range of skills, from creative expression to science and engineering (STEAM). And they are learn to create interactive art with simple electronics, in a playful and collaborative way that makes learning more fun.

Some of my Flickr friends and contacts might remember Bella as she has often featured in my 365s since we got her in December 2011.
It was with great sadness that she had to be put down last week on 24th May at the age of ten and a half.
In February she was diagnosed with an oral melanoma and to treat it I took her on weekly trips totalling around 2,500 miles for radiotherapy. It seemed to be working but a few weeks back she had an infection which was treated with antibiotics. When the infection was cleared she was left with a cough and was sneezing a lot and this was when the vet carried out some more tests at which point we found it had spread to the lungs and was no longer treatable. After that she went downhill extremely quickly.
The following day we took her out on a walk in her push-chair but she did manage a few steps by herself. Then we went to the beach we took her to on her first trip out. I wanted to buy her an ice cream but she hadn't eaten anything for several days. After coming home we sat together in the sun for a few hours until the time came to drive to the vet surgery. For her, it was another routine trip that she had become used it. I held her on my lap, told her she was the best little doggy we could ever wish for and that we loved her very much. As the injection took effect, I said it was OK for her to go and let her down on my lap gently as she fell still.
It still feels empty here without her but she was in so much discomfort in her last 48 hours that it was a huge relief in the end.
We love you Bella Boo and will miss you more than anything.

Modeling the new black & gold & "Gold 45 Revolver" Gold'N'Virtue swimsuits with the main equation to Moving Dimensions Theory on the swimsuits: dx4/dt=ic. Yes I have a Ph.D. in physics! :) You can read more about my research and Hero's Journey Physics here:
herosjourneyphysics.wordpress.com/ MDT PROOF#2: Einstein (1912 Man. on Rel.) and Minkowski wrote x4=ict. Ergo dx4/dt=ic--the foundational equation of all time and motion which is on all the shirts and swimsuits. Every photon that hits my Nikon D800e's sensor does it by surfing the fourth expanding dimension, which is moving at c relative to the three spatial dimensions, or dx4/dt=ic!
