The Street of Facades is a row of monumental Nabataean tombs carved in the southern cliff face that lies past the Treasury and adjacent to the outer Siq., that when you pass the Treasury, the Siq begins to widen gradually as it reaches into an open area. On both sides, there are a number of Nabataean burial interfaces decorated with grindstones along with other decorations; and some of these interfaces were destroyed by natural factors, it is believed that these interfaces represents some of the senior officials in the city or princes.

La grotte de Lombrives, située à Ussat-les-Bains dans l'Ariège, est l'une des plus vastes d'Europe avec un réseau de 14 kms.
Abri pour les hommes de la préhistoire, les Magdaléniens, lieu de sépulture pour l’homme de l’âge de bronze, lieu sacré cathare … Lombrives est un refuge, depuis des millénaires. C’est ainsi que l’on trouve des parois ornées de multiples signatures et signes énigmatiques, certains datant du XIIème siècle. Il serait même mentionné, par une écriture, que le roi Henri IV serait venu faire une visite dans la grotte en 1578.
The Lombrives cave, located in Ussat-les-Bains in Ariège, is one of the largest in Europe with a network of 14 km.
Shelter for prehistoric men, the Magdalenians, burial place for Bronze Age man, Cathar sacred place... Lombrives has been a refuge for millennia. This is how we find walls decorated with multiple signatures and enigmatic signs, some dating from the 12th century. It is even mentioned, in writing, that King Henry IV came to visit the cave in 1578.

This is Cathedral of the Dormition at the Pechersk Lavra in Kiev. It was cold and my tripod was like holding on to liquid nitrogen.
The cathedral was built by a group of Antonite monks from Constantinople on top of a complex network of caves under the Berestov Mount overlooking the Dneiper river.

Arabian Oryx in The Zoo Of Lisbon by Daniel Arrhakis (2016)
The Zoo of Lisbon has participated in several actions to reintroduce species in their natural habitat, both in the national territory and in other geographical areas.
The Arabian Oryx (Oryx leucoryx), considered extinct in Nature in 1972, was also the target of the joint work of conservation of the species and in 1982 was released the first Arabian Orix in Oman. In 2003, the Zoological Garden sent two females of this species to Al Wabra Wildlife Preservation in Qatar, a protected area included in its natural habitat and distribution of origin.

The tea rose unfolds into a beautiful bloom in hot water and develops a mild, often slightly fruity aroma.
On the big side of long-horns is Melissodes comptoides...as you move south and to the prairies...you get tricked up with M. communis and all its color variations. Fortunately, there are ways to tell them apart. Often common and found in many open habitats...particularly if you plant some composites for them...which of course ... you are. Slice of Life Project - theme - exploring composition and creativity while focusing on rituals/routines. We try to get outside for a walk everyday....this is one of our favourite parks that is in our neighbourhood. It was a very dreary overcast day but still so beautiful!

One of the sawbilled ducks, a winter visitor from Scandinavia and Russia. About 200 migrate to the UK, so I'm specially pleased we have another drake visiting Kinnordy again. Much of the loch is frozen just now, so on the one hand it makes it easier to spot, but on the other hand, the open water is further away, hence heavy crops and sharpening.
One of the oldest communities in the Greater Hamilton Area and once a rising star in the manufacturing business. Dundas is a historic town with a beautifully preserved historic downtown that gives an excellent picture of what a small manufacturing town that made a big impact on the industrial development of Canada.

My collection of Tetley Brewery memorabilia, including three trays, assorted coasters, two glasses and two (unfortunately) empty bottles of Tetley Pale Ale.
Tetley Brewing is a Yorkshire based brewery founded in Leeds in 1822 by Joshua Tetley, hence the reason I'm wearing a Yorkshire shirt. The round tray and the two beer bottles were given to me, before I could drink, by my uncle who was a loyal Tetley drinker at his Leeds local.
I used to be able to buy Tetley Ale at the LCBO here in Ontario but they no longer carry it in stock for some reason. (The LCBO is the Liquor Control Board of Ontario, the government operated stores where you can purchase liquor, wine and beer in Ontario.) I have complained but to no avail.
Like many smaller breweries, Tetley was taken over by Danish giant Carlsberg in 1998. In 2008 Tetley sold over 185 million pints in pubs and continues to be a strong seller.
We're Here looks at All Things British today and I salute Tetley Beer! By the way, the beer is in no way related to Tetley tea, although it is nice that the name Tetley is associated with the two quintessential British drinks, tea and beer.
Some 80% of Scotland’s land mass is under agricultural production, making the industry the single biggest determinant of the landscape we see around us. Scotland’s farmers, crofters and growers produce output worth around £2.9 billion a year, and are responsible for much of Scotland’s £5 billion food and drink exports. The export target for 2017 is £7.1 billion.
Around 67,000 people are directly employed in agriculture in Scotland – this represents around 8% of the rural workforce and means that agriculture is the third largest employer in rural Scotland after the service and public sectors. It is estimated that a further 360,000 jobs (1 in 10 of all Scottish jobs) are dependent on agriculture.
The agri-food sector is now the UKs largest manufacturing sector.
Around 85% of Scotland is classified as Less Favoured Area. This is an EU classification which recognises natural and geographic disadvantage.
There are large numbers of farms in north west Scotland, but these are significantly smaller in terms of the numbers of livestock/area of crops grown than farms elsewhere. Sheep farming is the predominant type of farming in the north west and there are also many sheep farms in the south of the country. Larger cereal farms are concentrated in the east. Beef farming takes place throughout Scotland, but is particularly common in the south west. This area also has the bulk of the dairy industry.

Clicked this bed of flowers with hills in background from Wayanad. Wayanad is for sure one of the most beautiful places to be visited in Kerala. I would say one of the most authentic natural beauty can be enjoyed here. This one is in the Baanasura Sagar dam site. There is a small garden which is set up in the dam site, where we can find a bunch of flowers.

Banasura Sagar Dam, which impounds the Karamanathodu tributary of the Kabini River, is part of the Indian Banasurasagar Project consisting of a dam and a canal project started in 1979.[1] The goal of the project is to support the Kakkayam Hydro electric power project and satisfy the demand for irrigation and drinking water in a region known to have water shortages in seasonal dry periods.
The Banasura Sagar Dam is located 21 km from Kalpetta, in Wayanad District of Kerala in the Western Ghats. It is the largest earthen dam in India and the second largest in Asia and an ideal starting point for hikes into the surrounding scenic mountains.It is an important tourist attraction.
In the dam's reservoir there is a set of islands that were formed when the reservoir submerged the surrounding areas.The islands with the Banasura hills in the background provide a spectacular view.
The Scale of Decor Decisions
The homeowner has clearly rejected the tyranny of the garden gnome, opting instead for a piece that demands attention and maybe a little fear from the mail carrier. This enormous, imposing, and rather stern-looking bronze (or bronze-effect) dragon is perched upon a perfectly circular bed of grey, crushed aggregate, giving the distinct impression that it just landed from incinerating a neighboring suburb and decided this was a suitable spot to take a breather. It certainly establishes an unmistakable tone: "Welcome to my home. Also, I may be a wizard." The stark contrast between the ferocious, textured mythological beast and the utterly anodyne, beige and brown, semi-detached bungalow backdrop is the real triumph here. It's the visual equivalent of serving flaming Bananas Foster on a paper plate.
Architectural Ambivalence
The architecture itself seems to be actively trying to fade into the background, sporting large, bland windows and a color palette best described as "frequently overlooked." The house acts as the ultimate straight man to the dragon's theatrical performance. It’s as if the dragon insisted, "I need a minimalist, non-distracting canvas for my epicness," and the house dutifully replied, "Yes, my lord, how about more beige?" The entire setup suggests a homeowner with an incredibly imaginative inner life whose exterior taste only extends to the mythological. One has to admire the dedication—who needs hydrangeas when you can have a brooding, winged reptile guarding your PVC window frames?
Curb Appeal: The Dragon Clause
Regarding "curb appeal," this installation doesn't so much appeal as it issues a stern warning. While most people strive for a look that says "We have good schools and a healthy lawn," this garden screams, "We have a dragon, and possibly a horde of pilfered gold in the garage." It's a glorious act of homeowner defiance, a monumental "no, thank you" to tasteful landscaping magazines. The practicality is also impressive: imagine the conversations! "Oh, it's the third house past the turn, you can't miss it, it's the one guarded by the enormous, terrifying creature of legend." It’s low-maintenance, high-impact decor, and one can only hope that they have equally dramatic interior design choices.
The light shines through a bench end at Moor Street Station. The conductor of 2V16 the 09.46 service from Dorridge to Worcester Foregate Street looks along his train before closing the doors.
Seeing that the bench was empty and there was a clear shadow beneath it I sat in the middle to repel boarders (this spot is popular with those who sit there all day with notebook stubby pencil and a sports bag full of food) The camera was held under the bench with the flip screen facing up and me peering through the gap between the two planks forming the seat, to do this it is unpleasant but necessary to encircle the seat in a loving embrace. I did a couple of pictures but preferred this over the front 3/4 because although small in the context of the picture the conductor adds some interest at a strong focal point.

Denver, Colorado. Twenty-four hours a day the sparks from acetylene torches of steel workers in eight Denver fabricating plants are flying thick and fast that the U.S. Navy may carry the battle to the enemy in all parts of the world. Here in secluded Denver, the world's largest city not on a navigable waterway, this war production worker, who has never seen a battleship or an ocean, fashions the steel hull parts which are being assembled at Mare Island Navy Yard--1,200 miles from where he and his fellow wokers are on the job to help "keep 'em sailling."

Field of wild radish growing beside this old farm in Lisbon, NH. USA. The sun was setting and made for some beautiful lighting on the field and house.
History of the Farm.
North of Lisbon village on Rte. 302, this structure is on the site of Lisbon’s Revolutionary War fort and is built around the fort’s blockhouse which was later used as the home and tavern of Samuel Young. A granary, gunhouse, and large barn were on the property at one time, and the fields were used for musters. The tavern was later owned and enlarged by Levi Cobleigh and known as the Young-Cobleigh Tavern and had a lovely ballroom. It is now a private home. Lisbon Area Historical Society — in Lisbon, NH.

Rainbows usually follow AFTER the rain, but on this early morning, it was BEFORE the rain - I was not totally prepared composition wise, so I planted and grabbed this shot before the rainbow faded. If you look in the top right corner, I think it's the start of a 2nd rainbow.

The Temple of Heaven, literally the Altar of Heaven is a complex of religious buildings situated in the southeastern part of central Beijing. The complex was visited by the Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for annual ceremonies of prayer to Heaven for good harvest. It has been regarded as a Taoist temple, although Chinese Heaven worship, especially by the reigning monarch of the day, pre-dates Taois. - wiki

Moab, Yosemite,...Lake Jesup?!
Okay, okay...most folks don't think of central Florida as a prime landscape photography location...and usually they would be correct. But once a year millions of sunflowers bloom on the flats bordering Lake Jesup and for a couple weeks, Florida joins those illustrious locations as a top-tier shutterbug site.
I knew the sunflowers would be in bloom when I hiked out to the flats this week, but this incredible sunrise was a total surprise. It was one of those sunrises that folks were talking about around the water cooler the rest of the day. I was darned lucky to be there!

Allah Almighty has created this world as a beautiful place. And then our deeds and perceptions create a facade of their own in this globe. Ever wondered why lesser people that you meet around in this age inspires you nowadays? Everyone seems to be stuck in their own paradigm ... the care for larger greatness is decreasing gradually.
In this dearth .... I believe the flame in our own soul can lit the torch. I hope it does soon.

I shoot Nikon, not because I feel it's better than any other brand but because it was on sale when I bought my first SLR camera and Nikon was a recognizable name :-). I wanted an SLR but I also know my tendencies where if it was too much of a challenge for me to figure out how to use the camera I know I'll just put it down and forget about it. Now 3 cameras past my first Nikon D60 camera and 8 lenses later I can say that "I AM NIKON"
