The number on the back of the Stewart J. Cort has meaning. She was the first 1000 footer to be constructed. Here she is on Friday, May 10 passing the Superior Light, destination the BNSF ore dock for a load of pellets. The wind was stirring up the bottom of the harbor pretty good, hence the brown color of the water.

RD8987. Although a number of extra trains were run during the Ffestiniog Railway’s ‘60 Years of Preservation’ celebrations, the normal service trains still ran as usual.
Here we see the ex Penrhyn Quarry Railway Hunslet 2-4-0ST/T LINDA and BLANCHE running into the new platform at Porthmadog Harbour Station with the empty stock of the 11.35 to Blaenau Ffestiniog; they are about to pass the platform starter signal, complete with finial.

At View Ridge Park I wrote down the sequence 1, 3, 5, 7 and asked Charlie what the next number should be. Soon he was joined by two other boys who helped in the game. We managed to get up to 275 before time ran out. One of the boys said "these are big numbers and I'm not even in Kindergarten!" We went through three sticks of sidewalk chalk! Everyone had fun!

The police can also issue fixed penalty fines for illegally displayed number plates. Offenders are liable to a MAXIMUM FINE of 1,000 and in some cases the mark may be withdrawn."
Bike number 65 Loris Baz opens a gap for Japanese rider Yukio Kagayama to
try to pass him at Club corner but his efforts would be in vain
