My first experience of living with housemates. it wasn't all bad, I guess. At least, better than the second time!
LNER K4 2-6-0 ‘The Great Marquess’ Number 61994 being manouved by a Class 08 Shunter out of the engine shed at Grosmont Station on the North York Moors Railway. Taken on the 12th June 2015
I found this series of numbers (representing the twelve days of Christmas) on a decorated wall at Pembroke Mall in Virginia Beach. Each number was on a painted door.

Pavilion. 1911 by HA Garrett, Borough Surveyor, based on 1897 designs by Edward Richards, architect to the Haldon estate; contractor RE Narracott of Stoke Gabriel. Conversion to shopping precinct 1986-7. Built on reclaimed land on a concrete raft reinforced with expanded steel frame with brick infill, clad externally with Doulton's patent carrera-ware with a cream and green glazed finish; copper roof; fine Art Nouveau ironwork. PLAN: On a north/south axis. Nave with barrel roof and clerestory windows, top-lit by a central dome. Flat-roofed flanking aisles and end blocks for roof promenades incorporate octagonal corner turrets with railings and domed roofs on cast-iron columns; central bow on west side overlooking Princess Gardens. Interior originally comprised hall with a stage, orchestra pit and balcony; tea garden on roof. EXTERIOR: Nave with pedimented, gabled ends with large Diocletian windows onto ashphalted roof terraces with balustrades; cast-iron steps with floral balustrades on east and west sides. Corner turrets with pretty railings and bell-shaped copper domes on cast-iron columns. North end entrance block with terrace over, flanked by turrets with pointed copper domes crowned with statues of Mercury. Statue of Britannia on nave dome. Segmental-headed doorway with glazed canopy on cast-iron brackets. Sides articulated with pilasters; round-headed windows, some arranged in pairs and triplets with Art Nouveau glass. East side repaired in the 1980s conversion following demolition of adjoining theatre. INTERIOR: Original plasterwork to barrel vault, arranged in panels. Borough arms over east entrance flanked by good figures of health and happiness. 1980s stair to mezzanine. An exuberant seaside building with an interesting construction and exceptional ironwork. The RCHSR's Steam locomotive number 1. Lukee is seen at the main station at the start of the day.
In the background is the main Mildura (Yelta) Railway line.
Built by Kerr Stuart in England in 1901 to the "Skylark" design and what followed was an amazing life for the locomotive.
It was first sent to India but was back in the U.K by 1903 for rebuilding. It then was sent to Tasmania and went to work on the British Zeehan Silver Mining Company's line that ran to the Silver Spray Mine and ran there until 1913.
It was then stored until 1921 when it went to South Australia and worked on the narrow gauge line in Cobdogla.
By 1924 its time at South Australian had come to an end and it would head to its long term home in Red Cliffs in Victoria.
A pumping station for irrigation lay on the Murray River here, it required coal and later briquettes to help generate the power needed to run the large pumps.
As the river was some 3 1/2 miles from the Red Cliffs main township which included the Victorian Railways' line where coal/briquettes would be delivered, a narrow gauge line of two foot gauge was built.
Lukee would run on this line as the main source of motive power until 1953 when it would become the standby locomotive having been replaced by Malcolm Moore Diesels.
The line would only remain in operation until 1954 when it was replaced by road haulage.
The locals of the area appreciated the history Lukee had in the area and so it was purchased and preserved in Red Cliffs as a static display in two separate locations from 1955 until 1983.
Then the loco was restored to steam over the next 4 years.
The plan had been to build a railway somewhere in Red Cliffs for it to operate on however by 1987 there was no resolution to where that would be so Lukee would be stored in working order until 1995.
It was then when the current site begun to be developed into what it is today. The loco would be steamed and diplayed here for two years until 1997 when the railway was offcially opened.
The railway is located in the South West Reserve in Red Cliffs at the former junction where the former Victorian Railways branch line to Morkalla had left the mainline.
1.5k's of the old line's formation was purchased and this forms the main running line today once the trains leave the Reserve.
Over the years the railway was rebuilt along the old right of way and Lukee has spent over 25 years operating trains in Red Cliffs once again.
