Here, Sanders MCV Evora bodied Volvo B8R type number 521 - BV21 OOD “Norfolk Discoverer” is seen on Church Street in Sheringham about to cross over the North Norfolk Railway line with the last westbound Coasthopper service CH4 journey. Both bus and driver had started the day on school contract service 204 which runs from Holt to Wells-next-the-Sea by way of Letheringsett, Langham, Binham and Wighton before turning their attention to the coast.
The last time this location was used a group of ladies appeared from around the corner to the right, but on this occasion the streets of Sheringham were almost deserted.
Just what I like, an old shop front with some original signage. I did see some pics from 10+ years ago and it was some sort of retro clothing shop. They didn't mess around with the signage though.

When I arrived in Rockport, Mass. this morning I knew I was going to sketch this scene. Little did I know that this was the ultimate artist's subject of the New England coast. This fishing shack was built in 1884 and dubbed Motif Number 1 by the painter Lester Hornby. I hope I did it justice.

The Golden Ratio informs a lot of my art and photographic composition. The Golden Ratio also informs the design of the golden revolver on all the swimsuits and lingerie, as well as the 45surf logo! Not so long ago, I came up with the Golden Ratio Principle which describes why The Golden Ratio is so beautiful.
The Golden Number Ratio Principle: Dr. E’s Golden Ratio Principle: The golden ratio exalts beauty because the number is a characteristic of the mathematically and physically most efficient manners of growth and distribution, on both evolutionary and purely physical levels. The golden ratio ensures that the proportions and structure of that which came before provide the proportions and structure of that which comes after. Robust, ordered growth is naturally associated with health and beauty, and thus we evolved to perceive the golden ratio harmonies as inherently beautiful, as we saw and felt their presence in all vital growth and life—in the salient features and proportions of humans and nature alike, from the distribution of our facial features and bones to the arrangements of petals, leaves, and sunflowers seeds. As ratios between Fibonacci Numbers offer the closest whole-number approximations to the golden ratio, and as seeds, cells, leaves, bones, and other physical entities appear in whole numbers, the Fibonacci Numbers oft appear in nature’s elements as “growth’s numbers.” From the dawn of time, humanity sought to salute their gods in art and temples exalting the same proportion by which all their vital sustenance and they themselves had been created—the golden ratio.

By the 1st century, Pompeii was one of a number of towns located around the base of Mount Vesuvius. The area had a substantial population which grew prosperous from the region's renowned agricultural fertility. Many of Pompeii's neighboring communities, most famously Herculaneum, also suffered damage or destruction during the 79 eruption. By coincidence it was the day after Vulcanalia, the festival of the Roman god of fire.The people and buildings of Pompeii were covered in up to twelve different layers of soil. Pliny the Younger provides a first-hand account of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius from his position across the Bay of Naples at Misenum, in a version which was written 25 years after the event. The experience must have been etched on his memory given the trauma of the occasion, and the loss of his uncle, Pliny the Elder, with whom he had a close relationship. His uncle lost his life while attempting to rescue stranded victims. As Admiral of the fleet, he had ordered the ships of the Imperial Navy stationed at Misenum to cross the bay to assist evacuation attempts. Volcanologists have recognised the importance of Pliny the Younger's account of the eruption by calling similar events "Plinian".

We were lucky to get to see this at all. The previous day there was a flash flood, and the canyon was only open halfway because of standing water in some areas. We had to leave early, too, because more rain was moving in. The light might not have been ideal due to the overcast skies, but it was still an incredible experience just to be in this beautiful place.

My work is a reflection of everyday life and places. I chose the medium of photography as a tool to capture the essence of the person or place. I create images to depict the subject as they are remembered in the mind. Not posed or unnatural, but as a window into the intimate world of the subject.
I grew up near St. Louis, Missouri and spent my childhood exploring the creeks, fields and woodlands near and around my hometown. My love of the outdoors is the inspiration of much of my work. Currently, I live in Ames, Iowa where I continue to find inspiration in the fields and farms that surround my community. I am supported by a family of three beautiful daughters, two dogs and loving husband of 10 years.
