Taken on a new years day walk. Mac waits intently for a ball to be thrown.
I get the impression this is going to be a common theme during 2012.
Norwich is home to a number of street entertainers. This one is a living statue of Charlie Chapling & he can often be seen on a fine day, putting on a performance (or lack of perfromance) outside Starbucks.
One of the other main entertainers in Norwich is the (in)famous Puppet Man. Sadly he wasn't there that day, but I have caught him on another occasion in Yarmouth:

It seems like Charlie Chaplin is a popular figure for Street entertainers as I also encountered him on the Embankment in London last year:
A dog I bumped into walking through the park. According to the lady walking her, she is a bit of a poseur. This photo seems to back that up
Another shot of Pakefield Church. This one is from the opposite side of the last & shows how close to the beach the church is.
After so much rain this summer, there were finally a few days of sun recently. I was keen to make the most of these and headed off to Southwold for an evening visit.
These beach huts were looking particualrly good in the late evening sun, or the backs of them were at least.
A front view of the huts can be seen here
After visting the Natural History Museum, I called into the Victoria & Albert Museum next door.
There was plenty to see in here including lots of fine statues. This one was stood near the entrance.
The late burst of summer we have had just recently has had quite an effect on plants in the garden.
Several flowers have made an appearence when they would normally be done for for the year by now. I spotted this colourful one just the other day.
The Swans of Thorpeness react enthusiastically to a spot of bread. They tend to lose their graceful appearence when food is about.
As well as plenty of dogs on the beach there were several surfers about too.
I caught this one in the middle of catching a wave.
A Yarmouth landmark, the Winter Gardens are a large greenhouse type building on the seafront.
Inside was a large bar & other entertainments. Sadly the gardens have been closed for a few years now & the buidling looks a bit scruffy.
A grand looking building which seemed rather quiet when I passed it.
This could be due to the fact that it was a Saturday or it could be they are just flat out broke!
In one corner of the gardens facing the sea this structure is located.
The structure is a memorial to Sailors, fishermen and others who died during the 2nd World War. It was looking most striking in the morning light.
