The dying city...
The town is noted for its striking position on top of a plateau of friable volcanic tuff overlooking the Tiber river valley.
It is in constant danger of destruction as the edges of the plateau collapse due to erosion, leaving the buildings to crumble as their underlying support falls away

Continuing my wander through the archives with this frame of a cold front moving over Mercury Passage.
Mercury Passage lies between Tasmania and Maria Island and was named after HMS Mercury, commanded by John Henry Cox, who charted the area in 1789.

A moment of magic. A man, a cello, a bridge covered with paintings, collages and graffitis .... and a musique with an absolute beauty. I wish I had more time to enjoy the gorgeous music that he played... and to take more pictures !

This is around the back of the cathedral. Used DxO PureRAW2 to clean it up and used Silver Efex Pro 3 as a mask to mute the colours of the stonework in Photoshop. I am learning new techniques and enjoying playing around with old images that I would not normally upload.

Glenridding Beck is a scenic mountain stream (beck is the Cumbrian term) located in the Lake District, Cumbria, England, which flows through the village of Glenridding and into Ullswater. It is a popular spot for outdoor activities, particularly hiking, gorge scrambling (ghyll scrambling), and trail running.
I can't believe places like this exist so close to Sheffield city centre. This afternoon's explore, processed using various Nik Collection plugins
Another set for my ongoing project around a group of street performers in my home town that like to play with fire. I hope I was able to capture this lady's grace in these images as her interplay with the fire was entrancing.

Moored alongside the Riva dei Sette Martiri beyond the Arsenale is where the big boys' toys can be found. Acting as my camera's lens hood is the 70m super yacht - Freedom. Currently available for charter... if you need to ask, you can't afford it!
However, there was no charge to use it in this manner although I didn't bother to ask but it nicely framed the Doge's Palace and campanile.
The San Diego bayside cityscape at twilight, as seen from Coronado. I maxed out the Clarity and Saturation sliders in Photoshop's RAW tool, then applied an adjusted Bleach Bypass effect in NIK Collection's Color Efex Pro to arrive at the final result.

A quiet little corner of late Autumn colour behind HallgrÃmskirkja, ReykjavÃk, Iceland.
The church was commissioned in 1937 and completed in 1986.
This is likely the last pic from the October 2017 trip.

I don't normally take architecture pics wide open but I had taken a shallow DOF image just before this one and forgot to stop down the aperture... but the resulting softness seems to enhance the quality of the light somehow... It's also a vertical crop from a landscape framed image.
The Nether Beck is a river in the Lake District , Cumbria , England . The Nether Beck originates as an outflow from Scoat Tarn on the western flank of Red Pike and flows southeast to its mouth at Wast Water .
