A quiet little corner of late Autumn colour behind Hallgrímskirkja, Reykjavík, Iceland.
The church was commissioned in 1937 and completed in 1986.
This is likely the last pic from the October 2017 trip.

I don't normally take architecture pics wide open but I had taken a shallow DOF image just before this one and forgot to stop down the aperture... but the resulting softness seems to enhance the quality of the light somehow... It's also a vertical crop from a landscape framed image.
The Nether Beck is a river in the Lake District , Cumbria , England . The Nether Beck originates as an outflow from Scoat Tarn on the western flank of Red Pike and flows southeast to its mouth at Wast Water .

It's my mother's birthday today (21.07.), and since she is on Flickr, too (magritknapp), I thought I'd upload a beautiful rose for her ;-)

From Rocky Point right off the Highway 1. There's a restaurant with a great view here and this is from near the parking lot.
I was rushing to work for an early morning meeting as the sun was coming up. I only had time to grab a couple of shots on my phone camera.
Originally called Oxheywoode, Spring Wood was owned by monks from Whalley Abbey. It was described as being “one bow shot East of the Abbey” in 1553. We know that the wood contained trees such as hazel and elder, as these are mentioned in a survey from 1528 carried out by the Crown

Another shot from my drive around Amakusa island, off the western coast of Kyushu. Here, the tetorapoddo were crumbling into the sea, giving the feeling of of coming across the ruins of an alien civilization.
So peaceful. The path to Kinder Scout, from Edale in the Peak District, passes through this small woodland area.

This image has been captured at the State Rose Garden, Newtown Park, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia.
I have been to Toowoomba many many times to see the beautuful Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers and also the Japanese Gardens, but I did not know that this rose garden existed until recently. It is a must see in Toowoomba and I was told by the workers there, that the best time for the flowering roses is in October.
