Momosuke Bridge - also known as the “Bridge of Peaches”. The bridge, completed in September 1922, crosses the widest part of the Kiso river and is 247 m in length and 2.7 m wide. As one of the longest wood-stiffened, wooden-decked suspension bridges in Japan it shares overhead suspension bridge design elements with suspension bridges of a simiar period found in the US and Europe.
The bridge was built to serve the development of hydro-electric infrastructure along the Kiso River by engineering entrepenur of the Meiji Period; Momosuke Fukuzawa in whose honour the bridge is named.
A pity the sky was perfectly clear with zero colour after sunset but I thought the light off the decking would make a lovely line to the sky and the mountains. Mono being the only choice :-)

A much anticipated return to Coldwater Cove was overshadowed by dreary conditions the morning we made our stop.
I was working hard to keep my disappointment in check and I decided to switch to B&W for one shot, then continued with the B&W theme later in post, capturing what was for me, the mood of the time.

TO EVERYONE, PLEASE TAKE CARE AND BE SAFE.
With the COVID-19 (coronavirus) now rampant in most countries, I am spending all my time at home and fortunately have plenty of birds coming and going during the day to visit our bird friendly garden.
This Rainbow Lorikeet (Trichoglossus moluccanus) has been captured in my backyard.
Many thanks to all my Flickr photo stream followers I have now more than one million views, thank you. Thanks for viewing my photos and for any favourites and comments, it is very much appreciated.

This is one of my favourites places to walk in Oakville. As the sun moves across the sky, the shadows come out to play.

Trying out some photoshop filters for a project that I am just getting started on. One of them is a freebie: www.google.com/nikcollection/ The other one is somewhat pricey but I think I may still splurge out: www.autofx.com/phot…/mystical-photo-effects-gen2.html

Sinuous, liquid, genie-esque Aurora Borealis over the 'Black Church' of Búðakirkja, Búðir, Snæfellesnes, Iceland.
There was a last quarter moon behind the camera somewhere with the volcano of Snæfellesjokull at lower left wreathed in cloud. Some auroral curtains hanging over it. The tail stars of Ursa Major in the top right.

The XF14/2.8 is a nice sharp landscape lens but manifests a particular issue in astro - look at the stars in the Bear and there is a deal of sagittal astigmatism evident - even without maxing the image.
I tried to make a dramatic black and white version of one of the hundreds pics I've taken in Kinderdijk last summer.

When we visited Alaska 2 summers ago one of the most memorable days was spent on Prince William Sound out of Valdez. The teal blues of the water, turquoise ice formations, blue gray mountains and clouds...in one word, stunning!

A view of Hafursfell (697m) from the eastern side, Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Iceland.
I'm not able to put a name on the prominent, sunlit formation but the ridge to the left is the glacial arête of Þrihnúkar with the jagged summit of Hafursfell to the right. Route 54 or Snæfellsnesvegur can be seen running past Samkomuh and Dalsmynni farms at the foot of the mountain. The Núpá River runs through a fold of land behind these two farms.
As with much of the Icelandic landscape, it's humbling to consider that each band in the rockface represents a separate volcanic eruption - almost like growth rings in a tree.

This image explores the rich visual textures of the UK's historic inland waterways, focusing on the iconic dry docks at Worsley. The imagery highlights the architectural contrast of the weathered, monochrome timber sheds against the vibrant, traditional livery of the narrowboats. Central to the narrative is the unique environmental character of the canal itself—its famous iron-rich, orange waters acting as a direct physical link to the subterranean coal mining history of the region. The series aims to preserve the color, craftsmanship, and quiet endurance of British industrial heritage.

Spotted this tree nestled in amongst the reeds whilst out walking. I will definitely have to return with the 70-200/2.8 when the forecast is favourable!
This wildlife photograph captures a Canada goose in a dynamic moment of movement, wings fully extended as it breaks across the water’s surface. The surrounding foliage creates a dark natural backdrop, allowing the bird’s form, feather detail, and splashes of reflected light to stand out with dramatic intensity.
The artistic concept focuses on energy, instinct, and transformation. The stillness of the shaded water contrasts with the sudden sweep of wings, creating a sense of motion suspended in time. Through light, texture, and gesture, the image presents a familiar waterside subject as something powerful, elegant, and momentarily theatrical.
