I met Mike Schertz ( www.dynamic-earth-photos.com/ ) while visiting Mt Ranier's Reflection Lake for this sunrise shot. You don't see very many people at this time of day and it's the best time to get the good shots. I've met quite a few good photographers at sunrise and sunset.
This was a single raw image worked in Camera Raw, then opened in Photoshop and final editing done in Color Efex Pro.
Last year wildflowers bloomed late and I missed them by visiting in early August. This year I visit in late August and just catch the tail end of the bloom. I hear they can come out from late July to mid Sept.

Early morning shot of the Viso Mozzo (mozzo means cut and in fact it is some 800 meters smaller than the Monviso, which is on the right from this perspective but not visible here). I took this one from Rocce Alte (or Losas) which is the small mountain right in front of the Rifugio Giacoletti (Valle Po).

From my latest trip to Cuba—
The best way to describe the approach that boxers take to train in Cuba is it’s full contact ballet.
I love the moments of spontaneous observed unawareness. I become invisible to the person in front of my camera when photographing boxers and dancers. Their focus on what they are doing is absolute. For me those moments are best seen and relived in the eye of the viewer in the chromatic grayscale, i.e.black and white.
I shot this with the Z8 modified for infrared by Kolarivision, 85mm f1.2 S Nikkor wide open. Capture on to 650gb Delkin Black CF card. The Image raw processed in NX Studio and Photoshop CC with the NiK collection 8 and Silver Efex 8.

The trouble with photographers is that anything can become a subject, even the core of the pear they just ate.
A peaceful scene captured along the historic Bridgewater Canal in Worsley. The low winter sun brings out the vibrant red and black tones of the moored barge, while the still water acts as a perfect mirror for the skeletal trees and the classic iron footbridge in the background.
This stretch of the canal is famous for its unique heritage, once serving as the birthplace of the transport revolution during the Industrial Revolution.

The 18 km long bridge across Storebælt (the Great Belt Bridge) links the eastern and western parts of Denmark together.
Found this guy chilling in my backyard. Image made with my Olympus OM-D e-M1.2 with the m.Zuiko 60mm f2.8 Macro lens (ISO3200 | 1/125 | f7.1 | uncropped). Processed in On1 Photo RAW 18.5 with a couple roundtrips to the Nik Collection.
