I created one of these in 2012 and it worked out really well to keep me on track when I stray. Here is the one for 2013. Inspired by the "Holstee Manifesto"
seriously, I need to review my life choices. Not a single day in months, when I get home directly from work, like a regular guy; have home made dinner and watch TV lazily. I think, I need serious kind of counseling with myself ;) #NewYearResolution perhaps ;) btw beside all my issues #Chicago staying in his pretty colorful outfit ;) don you think?
aka the gut buster.
One each marinated chicken and tri-tip on a fried sope, with beans, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, tomato and lettuce. $5.99. I like my sopes a little less busy. This was very substantial.
Several of the staff at Muddy's KC placed a large format print of their new year's resolutions on the wall. Here's one.
Happy New Year!
I am know I am super late to join this party of New Year’s wishes but I hope I am welcomed any way.
I kept thinking all this time what to write in this retrospective, who has become already a custom. Three years since I started this journal. Three years of taking a photo every day.
This year has been great but also full of challenges.
I am happy to have learned a whole lot new things, to become better at my job and hopefully better as a person. I made new friends and I tried to kept the old ones as close as possible. I won the ESSL Award which kinda made my year for it helped me in a whole lot of ways and I am grateful for all of that. I was finally able to visit Scotland which was a secret dream I was having for years. The things I felt while there are hard to put in words but they were of an intensity that consumes. But what really made this year a great one was the ability to keep the loved ones close. I am happy to have seen my family and my cat, to be paid visits from old friends, to re encounter with people I haven’t seen in years and to be part of their wonderful lives whether is marriage, engagement, children or moving to another country, chasing dreams, quitting jobs, getting new jobs, secretly moving in with their boyfriends (ehem...) and so on. You’re all great and I admire your courage and determination every day.
Once again thank you so much for all the likes and comments. They make my day, everyday, and leave me grateful towards the people that are following me through this great journey.
It has been also a hard year. The things that have happened, and the tragedies we all lived this year have changed, I’m afraid, something inside of us forever. I hope this new year we find ways to cope with everything and that we learn to not let our faults and fears divide us but bring us closer and unite us towards a better future. This would be, I believe, the only way to honor the lives that were lost.
Sorry for the long read, those who are still here reading!
I am wishing you all a great new year, may you stay healthy and happy but not ignorant. Seek, wonder, discover, meet life in the face, learn to love whatever challenges it may bring, for they are a gift meant to make you learn, become a better you and make your love greater.
Take care of yourselves and may we all see each other till the end of this year, more smart, more healthy, more happy and much more in love.

For FGR: New Year Resolution
Having some mixed Hawaiian drink at Ohana's at The Polynesian Resort at Disney World. We went to Epcot to celebrate my friend's 31st birthday.
The Challenge: Take one self portrait each day for a year.
The main thing is that you are both the photographer and the subject. For the purposes of this group, any photo which you took that contains any part of your body counts. You can use tripods, timers, or whatever else you need just as long as you take a photo yourself.

Resolutions

Resolve to resolve nothing unrealistic.
You’ve never worked out
You’re 25 lb overweight
Why start on January 1st?
When it’s cold and miserable
Icy roads and a million obstacles
Internal and external
And really, your body
Just wants to survive until Spring.
Why not start when it’s nice out?
When your body’s ready for change?
Timing is everything
Find success, make resolutions
When it makes sense
Not when someone tells you to.
Painful to see people fail
When the trap was set
They had no chance
Overwhelming, the guilt and self-loathing.
I make resolutions whenever
But usually in Autumn
A reflective time, a time of change
And still tolerable outside.
When I fail I try again
Chastisement doesn’t help
It takes time
I resolve to never stop trying.

Wow, what can I say? 2011 was full of surprises. I can honestly say that at the beginning I was unsure of what I could accomplish in 365 days but I’ve surpassed all expectations that I had set for myself. The theme for 2011 was to not be afraid of experiencing new things. In result I’ve stepped on European and South American soil for the first time. Also I got to be on set on two big movie productions and I've met a lot of new wonderful people along the way. To top it off, I I currently get to work in a trade that I love.
So much has happened and I really can’t ask for much more. For once I am completely comfortable with the person that I am today. I was able to accomplish all the goals that I had set for myself and I’m really excited for what 2012 will bring.
Looking forward I just hope to continue to learn and experience as much as possible. My 5 goals for the upcoming year are;
1) Start a new workout regime (cross fit?)
2) Continue to develop more meaningful relationships with the people around me
3) Become more independent
4) Learn better ways to use photoshop and lightroom
5) Take more pictures! My upload count has dropped each year since I started my account :(
Goodbye 2011, you were wonderful. Welcome 2012!!!
Remember how last year you made that resolution to give up carbs? Volunteer at the local shelter? Put away $500 from every paycheck? Stop judging people? Right. How are those working for you?
For 2016, rather than placing unrealistic expectations on yourself — and saying “fuck...

UPDATE: revised list here.
Calling them resolutions would, by definition, doom them to failure. I've just decided after the excesses of the season that some changes are in order. Life changes. Improvements, you might say. Much needed improvements. Improvements I won't be starting till ... oh, tomorrow.
Happy New Year's Eve, folks! However you choose to mark the occassion, I hope you enjoy it, and no one gets hurt.
I love a daytime moon.
One of my New Year's resolutions is to take photos every day. I'm doing Project 365 and blogging them on my LiveJournal. Anyway, this was one of the photos I took on 1/1/07 when I went out with my camera to start keeping my resolution.

Project 365: Day 477
For the last few years I've been tracking my calories, exercises, how many minutes of exercise, step count, weight on the myfitnesspal app, iPhone and iWatch and I'm pleased to say that I keep within my food and exercise goals on a daily basis!
My New Year Resolution is going to be to continue to do so!!
Happy New Year to Everyone and wish you all a wonderful 2026

For the record, I'm just playing along with this month's theme -- these are not real resolutions as I have no intention of actually doing any of them.
