Merida is posing alone, in her formal teal (light blue-green) dress with gold trim and gold sash. She is carrying a bow and arrow set. I found this doll's shoulder joints rather stiff.

Angus and Merida have been fully deboxed.

My first look at the 2 piece Brave Angus and Merida Doll Set. It was released by the Disney Store on Monday May 14, 2012 online and in stores, along with many other Brave merchandise. It's cost is $39.50 US.

The set consists of the Princess Merida, who is a fully poseable 11.5'' doll in her blue formal dress, carrying a bow and arrow, and her faithful companion Angus, a 12.5'' tall black plush horse doll. Angus is 13.5'' to the top of his ears and is 15'' long. He has white hair on his nose and hooves, and neighs for a few seconds when his nose is pressed.

First I photographed the set in the unopened box. Then with the dolls taken out of the box, but still attached to the inner cardboard backing, which slides out of the box like a tray. Finally, the dolls were fully deboxed, and posed separately and together.

Two horses together.

It was held outdoors in our church courtyard. Jason loved being outdoors with all his friends. There were three churches and Jason's Scout Troop who were active partipants in the service.

Those came to share their grief were friends and neighors of all ages, some of whom we didn't even know. Jason had made friends just riding his bike around the neighborhood.

Out and about today I came across a field with these beautiful horses in it, enjoying the sun and grazing away, whipped out my camera to capture the moment.

A different approach for this shot, not sure it works, but what the heck! A monochrome sunset. The cloud structure reflected in the water lead me to try this shot in black & white.

Kilchii and I have come so far since I adopted him. I can't believe how lucky I was to not only find a gorgeous mustang, but one with the best personality ever. He's literally like a dog. From sleeping in my lap, to licking my hands, to chasing me around and neighing to me when I call him. We've bonded so quickly and have become best friends.

I still remember how spooked and frightened he was the first day I got him and I just so badly wanted to gain his trust. The first time I ever worked with him I just sat in the round pen and walked around a bit so he could figure out what I was. Once he started getting curious I began getting closer to him. I was probably in the round pen for a couple hours before I could finally get a lead rope on him. From the moment we touched, I knew he would quickly become my friend. After the first week, every time I came to work with him, he would always come to the gate and wait to greet me.

He was still incredibly hard to train since he was scared and spooked at anything new I showed him. Desensitizing him to saddle blankets was at the top of my list. With plenty of patience and hours of working with him step-by-step he eventually started getting better. His mind set even changed. He now thinks before moving his feet, which was such a big and amazing improvement! He has surprised me so much with how hard he has tried to please me and I am so proud of how he's turned out, especially knowing I'm the only human that has ever worked with him. He knows all the ground work skills and even some riding skills. He's a pro at lunging and tracks up amazingly, he knows flexing of the neck, leg aids, driving and more.

I just love this horse so much and could never give him up. I still can't thank the Extreme Mustang Makeover and BLM enough for the opportunity to train and later adopt such an amazing horse! I'm one proud mustang owner and can't stop bragging about how lucky I am. Mustangs are one of the most fascinating & all-round great breeds I know. I've seen what they can do and I'm just blown away, especially by my Kilchii. - Lydia Smith, BLM wild horse adopter

What a wonderful testament to the connection between one of America's mustangs and a horse loving teenager! It is something we never tire of hearing about; the unique bond adopters form with their mustang when they get past the hurdle of the first touch and continue down the training trail as a team.

Another day, another sunset. I will never tire of sitting watching the sun go down.

Nainèe is an absolute DREAM to photograph (and these were just terrible snapshots from my rug). Really looking forward to doing more with her. But first, she needs proper clothes (and hair, for that matter)!

A recrop and reprocess after May showed me how it was done.

In my dream I was alone, walking along a misted wood lined mountain path , my long gown swishing along the stones. Just ahead of me sits a misty shrouded mounted figure, outlined in darkness. Steam emits into the chilly night air from his horses’ flared nostrils. It shakes its head awaiting its masters orders. The cloaked figure looks left , then look down into a tree lined valley. The distant sound of horses carries up, and a lone coach comes into view

Interior view of passengers inside the coach, being jostled by the bumpy ride.

In side the rocking carriage are two ladies and a gentleman, The way they talk, and the rich shimmer of the ladies clothing and baubles are a testament to their standing as a part of the upper crust of the area. They have left the safety of the city to attend a formal function at one of the sprawling estates that were once a common British sight

The carriage horses have just strained to come up from a small valley, the driver cracks his whip to keep them moving. He does not hear what they do, and he assumes their neighs are in answer to his whip. So he is totally unprepared when a horseman, clocked and masked, rides out from the trees and points a sword at him. He pulls to a jerking stop. “Stand and deliver” is the command he hears , The mans voice muffled from beneath his mask.

Dismounting, the rider strolls casually up to the carriage door, and invites the occupants to step out. They do so, gentleman first, An older man with the detached look of a sour judge. a bright gold chain encircling his waist, diamond cufflinks glint in the moonlight. Behind him, in the shadows of the carriage, emits the pleasing sounds of rustling dresses.

Scene 2 cut away from the Judge and focus on the carriage door

It is the Gentlemen’s wife’s, who emerges next. An dour faced older women, She moves proudly, exiting the coach with a deliberate poise , a flowing , fiery red evening gown of satin and lace encases her, shimmering with a royal elegance . Bright green fire encompasses the lady in bright contrast to the shining red gown , she is adorned with large, gleaming emeralds, a perfectly matched set that drips from her throat, ears, wrists, and fingers, The center of her waist sparkles in the form of a hanging diamond and emerald broach fastened upon a satin sash, tied in a bow at her back. The clips that hold up her long hair also glitter with a green fire. Sheathing his sword , The suave villain moves to the door, and taking her jeweled fingers in his, eagerly helps the lady disembark and leads her to stand next to her husband.

Camera cuts back to the carriage door, bathed in moonlight. An whisper of satin precedes the pretty lady that enters into view. Easy does it the masked rider says as he helps her down, his words rolling pleasantly with a kindly English accent. I shall, she answers, head held proudly.

The Camera zooms up to her , focusing on a long diamond necklace that lays glistening along her throat. Panning back it reveals the shimmering silver frock that adorns her pretty figure, the gowns long skirts come cascading out as she steps down to the ground. Her hair is up, and a set of drippy gold earrings sway freely, twinkling merrily about its forlorn wearer. Diamonds sparkle along her slender fingers.

Camera pans back as the cloaked rider courtesly leads the lady to join the others.

Act 3

Scene 1

A woebegone group of three stand in front of the masked bandit. They are bathed in light, and as the camera pans them over, it creates sparkles as the illumination plays with the ladies ornaments , the full moon highlighting their satin gowns A low whistle breaks the waiting silence, a low voice, clear in the crisp air, says with an air of uncertainness ” Nice of you to come dressed up this lovely evening, my pretty ladies.” He smiles boyishly at the dour faced women, who sternly blushes. What do you want,” the judge asks in a commanding voice. as the camera zooms in on him. With a twinkle in his eyes, the bandit answers, “Well that’s the problem you see, I need you all to hand over your valuables. I am a highway man, and I am afraid that that what highwaymen do.” His words come across in an almost embarrassed apology . The camera pans back as the Highwayman approaches the Judge, his horse waiting patiently in the background.

The figure walks up to him, and holds out his hand, fingers beckoning. At a sign of hesitation, the sword is produced and pointed at his waist. He hands over his fat wallet, a gold watch and chain. His diamond cufflinks and emerald pin are also given over.. The booty is placed in a pocket of the clock . Thank you sir, the highwayman says in an almost apologetic manner.

Scene 2

Leaving the gentlemen, the camera focuses on Highwayman Hugh as he moves to the wife.

An attentive eye is turned to her jewelry . Fingers reach out and lift the necklace from her chest, watching it burst in green flames. No she says, ordering him with a frosty tone, shaking her head, causing emeralds to sparkle as her earrings sway in the night. Clarisse, her husband mutters, give them up. Unhappily she obeys. Raising her hands to the back of her throat, her rings twinkling merrily, she undoes the clasp, letting the necklace slide into the waiting fist, creating a splendidly glittering pile. She pulls off her rings next, handing them to the masked figure, seething under his gaze. Clarisse hesitates, putting a hand to her ample bosom, the hand is gently taken lifted, her wrist is brought up to a pair of wolfish eyes drooling over her bracelet ,letting go, his fingers beckon, and she undoes it, letting it drop slithering his palm. She pulls the hair clips free, and her hair cascades down in silky brown waves, covering her flashy earrings. The rest Clarisse, quickly, a voice asks kindly as the victim momentarily wavers. Her trembling hands push back her hair and pull free her earrings. Sadly she hands the valuable emeralds over. The sword plucks at the dangling emerald broach . Clarisse brings her hands to back of her waist and unties the satin sash. The bow yields with a whisper, and is pulled free, the glittering broach hanging from the center. He takes it, slipping it into the now budging pocket. Clarisse’s naked fingers are brought up to his mouth and kissed, then he pats at them while thanking her, a sincere warmth to his voice.

Scene 3

The camera moves to the pretty lady in silver. The moon is seen behind her, framing her face casting a light through so very soft hair.

Would you please raise your hands my lady, he remorsefully asks.

She smiles innocently at him, in a mocking manner she asks sweetly, Why, Is there something you desire sir The camera shoots to the Highwayman, who moves forward, his sward drawn, and he brings it up, lifting her necklace from her throat. Yes, he whispers genially, this for starters Now please raise your hands. The look he is giving the area where her diamonds lay upon her throat, just above her ample bosom, is one of lustful desire.

She could feel her hair prickle along her neck as he did this, and reluctantly she obeys. As her arms lift above her head, her gowns long flowing sleeves slip back, revealing the pair of bracelets encircling each of her slender wrists. One is full of flickering diamonds, the other is solid glittering gold.

The camera cuts to the Highwayman, His eyes smiling innocently at her, through the eye slits of his Zorro like mask, as he takes quick inventory. He steps back, a hand thoughtfully placed upon his chin. As though finally deciding what to do, Hugh speaks.

Your jewels, then, miss, he asks her with a daunting voice. Her mouth pursed in a whimper, she sadly lowers her hands , reaches behind and unclasps her necklace, It explodes into dazzling light as she lays it upon the outstretched palm. She undoes the pretty clips in her hair, while he watches as her hair silkily falls along her face. She tugs her earrings free and adds them to the pile. She slides the bracelets off each wrist, then looking sadly at her shimmering rings, she slips them off her fingers, one by one, adding them to the pile. finished, she steps back and watches miserably as her pile of jewelry glistens in his palm.

Sir, she says brightly, certainly you do not wish to leave me without anything but my dress to wear this evening. She grimaces as He chuckles and turns away from her.

The camera zooms up upon her pile of jewelry in his palm, a glittering piece is picked up and studied by his eyes.

He turns and places the piece in the hand of the lady. The highwayman says in a comforting voice, his tongue playing along each syllable of his rich British accent “ Here my lady, Take this and wear it at you party. He kisses her hand, folding her fingers over the glittering piece of jewelry a gold ring with a green emerald Maybe I’ll see you there, he whispers. She looks at him inquisitorially.

The horse comes back into view, his head moving up and down, snorting. The highwayman, sheathing his sword, leaves the group and walks backwards to the horse. “I thank you my good gentleman and fine ladies, your contribution this evening is greatly appreciated.” The Judge and his wife look at him with scorn, a pretty lady smiles a sad little smile The figure on foot remounts, and rides off

Scavenge Challenge #3 : Horses

112 in 2012 #45 : Fluffy, Furry, or Hairy

They gallop and trot, whinny and neigh, capturing our imagination — and our hearts. Indeed, horses are said to have done more to change human history than any other domestic animal, once upon a time carrying explorers to new frontiers and mighty armies to great conquests. Though their glory days may be in the past, these hoofed creatures continue to enthrall us.

As it is said, "History was written on the back of the horse."

In Northern Areas of Pakistan, the legacy of horse continues when each year Polo being played at the highest ground in the world; Shandur. Where polo is still being played in its original form along with the Bushkazi in upper NWFP province.

In the plains of Punjab there is a game called Tent Pegging being played using the skillful art of riding and hitting the target with pin point accuracy... It is also considered to be a sign of power and pride.

The tradition continues as polo, tent pegging, and bushkazi florish as time is passing by. My point here is why we promote western sports like cricket, football when we have rich sports of ourself like Bandar Killa, Peetho Garam, Tent Pegging, Polo, Bushkazi. I never saw these matches at national level over the television.

Its time to think and reflect.
