Heroes' Acre is a monument to Namibia's heroes, located on a hillside overlooking Windhoek. It was designed and built (on a no-bid contract) by a North Korean firm (that went over budget by 2X). It does not resemble anything else in Namibia, other than the national museum*, which was also built by the North Koreans. Perhaps with time, Namibia will turn this into something more befitting its heroes. [*The statue of the unknown soldier clearly resembles Sam Nujoma, Namibia's founding president, so that could be another exception.]

Taken during a 2 week adventure holiday to Namibia with Exodus Travels, October/November 2006. Image taken with a borrowed Minolta Dynax 5D camera, the first DSLR that I ever used. Originally shot in jpeg format, then recently reprocessed using DxO PhotoLab 4 to try and get the best out of them, as I hadn't really appreciated the possibilities of what I'd taken at the time.
