A new batch of Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force troops arrived in Juba on November 21, 2016 to join U.N. peacekeeping activities under a more robust mandate in line with Japan’s new security law.
The first batch of 130 forces arrived with the rest of the 350-strong force expected later.
Japanese media are reporting that 60 of the troops are in charge of security while another unit is responsible for engineering work.
The Japanese government last year approved the new law expanding the role of the Japanese military serving in peacekeeping missions beyond engineering and logistical work, authorizing them to rescue humanitarian workers when under attack.

100% superwash British Bluefaced Leicester wool 4ply yarn in eight of the ten new batches for this update.
A quick attempt at a portrait to produce a neg to use at the carbon transfer printing workshop. Didn't get it done in time (developer turned out to have gone off, had to make a new batch and didn't have time to wait for it to cool) so I souped this after I got home. I looked a bit less sour in the other one, but the focus was unfortunately off. Oh well.
Well, these turned out much better - looking wise! This time I made Apple Bran Spice Muffins, with a touch of romance in the air.
The new batch of Ranzani Egg cup holders! Now the Potjie pots come with a white inlay. Don't they look gorgeous? Fave the colour you like the most! :)
From my own pattern. Making a bunch of these to include with Christmas gifts this year. Love turning scraps into fun and useful things.

This china oil clay have been used by many professional sculptor in China and Hong Kong for years. Price is very cheap about usd$2-3 for a brick. This clay can be handles like clay when warm, and hard when cool. The shortcoming is they might look like the same, but actually they are made by different factories with different formula. Every time a new batch might not act like the same.
Our sculptor KIM is a pro of using this clay.

Went to Belle Isle Marsh looking for butterflies last weekend. Although the marsh is awash in wildflowers at the moment, I found only two - a rather lethargic cabbage white and sleepy monarch (first that I've seen this year). But all may not be lost - I found a few caterpillars chomping away on the milkweed, so hopefully we have new batch of butterflies soon.
Anyway. As part of my series on milkweed, let me present to you the beautiful monarch caterpillar. Note the three 'true' legs at the front (mouth) end and the four false, or prolegs on the abdomen. Monarchs lay their eggs exclusively on milkweed, and the caterpillars absorb toxic cardenolides (molecules related to digitoxin) from the plant by eating the leaves. The bold colors of the caterpillar make it easy to spot and are thought to signal to predators that they would be better off not eating it.
My newest batch.

In 1860 Heinrich Kreische (CRY-sha) began building a brewery in the ravine below his house to make use of its spring water. By the middle of the Civil War, “Kreische’s Bluff Beer” was being produced on a commercial scale. An ingenious water system aided by gravity transferred ingredients through a nine-step brewing process. By 1879, Kreische Brewery was the third largest brewing operation in the state. When a new batch of brew was ready, Kreische hoisted a flag atop the Bluff which read “Frisch Auf!” (Freshen Up!) No doubt, this was the site of the first Texas happy hour.
