From Saturday 23rd, Route B13 has been retained by Arriva Kent Thameside (Arriva London) with a new batch of Enviro 200s.

With a bad weather forecast for Saturday a while back and some other plans we went out for a hike on Friday.

We both had the whole week off and did enjoy the days off with some nice days and also a few days with some rain and lower temperatures

Decided to visit the Boswachterij Gees nature reserve while the weather would still be nice. Followed some of the available trails did enjoy the time spend there.

Took as we basically always do one of our Canon Eos 3 cameras with us. Decided to load it with some Ilford XP2 Super 400 for a change

Developing was done with our Cinestill Cs41 kit at 39c and 4 minutes after some struggles with the spool. Did have some issues loading the film. So I ended up with a film with some scratches and spots, but still do like the results

This was the ninth film with the new batch of developer mixed on September 9 2020

Curious if we can reach over 25 films again and 10 months with this new batch.

The previous developer batch was used to develop 28 films (135-36 format) over an period of 10 months without any problems.

The Cinestill CS41 does stay in good working condition if kept cool, dark and oxygen free.

The Dog and Pony Show is LIVE this week, and it’s absolutely packed with amazing new releases! Every year, we get a whole new batch of horses, dogs, tack, clothing, and so much more—and this year? It’s next-level! Creators are bringing their A-game, and I am LOVING it.

But wait… let’s talk about THE highlight for me: the Chantilly Cake skin and Rigged Fluffs for the Icelandic Horse by Sugar Blog!!

Meet Rognvar!! He’s the most precious little prince who’s always zooming around the pasture, splashing in the sprinklers! He gets soaking wet, races around in the sun, and then—BAM!—he fluffs up into the cutest plushie pony you’ve ever seen! Seriously, he's a total fluffy dream come true!

Momma Mallard has obviously been injured somehow, but that does not stop her from taking care of her new batch of ducklings. Most of the ducklings hatched weeks ago, but these have been much more recently introduced to the world. (No male Mallard anywhere in sight of this family, but that's not at all unusual.)

So cute in the first few weeks.

So the last photos i posted were shot whilst sitting around waiting for it to stop raining…and of course I was after the 'typical british holiday' cliche shot, but actually, when it did stop raining, it was absolutely glorious.

The new batch (starting now with one from Durdle Door, and followed soon by some more of the surrounding coastline) show dorset on a spectacular English summers day with some fluffy cumulus clouds to set the landscapes off perfectly.

Shot mid afternoon whilst the place was full of tourists, breaking all the landscape photography rules (get up at the crack of dawn for the best light etc). But i like the challenge of shooting at times like these, and its also how the majority of people will get to see the place anyway, so it might possibly strike more of a chord than would a moody sunrise?

Tower Transit route 328: Golders Green Station - Chelsea, World's End

Westbourne Park Station (B)

WN35003-35004 have been refitted with Tower Transit-styled seats and some new lighting, with WN35001-35002 more than likely also receiving refurbishment to explain their absence from service. These should complete the PVR alongside the ordered new batch VH38112-38136 due to enter service in April for the route's contract renewal.

The bus was previously curtailed to Westbourne Park before curtailing to Notting Hill Gate.

I made a new batch of hummingbird food and went out to fill up my feeder. As I got close to my feeder, my eye caught something out of the ordinary on the hole in this tree. It was a huge spider, a Fishing Spider, and I assume she lives in the hole. It is hard to tell the size from the photo. The legs were roughly 2-2.5 inches in length. It was definitely one of the biggest spiders I've seen. Parke County, IN

***Notice the round, almost wood-like egg sack that she is sitting on. At first I thought it was part of the tree, but now after some research I realize it is her eggs. Here's a link to a similar photo: bugguide.net/node/view/13625

Here they are still in that ugly plastic wrap that's supposed to make them straight and pretty, but tomorrow I'll of course take some more shots, without the plastic :)

Fresh from its appearance at the launch for this new batch of buses, First Glasgow's latest branded fleet began to enter service on 25th March. The 77 is set to receive 12 of these E400MMCs which are slightly longer than the E400s delivered thus far. Caught in pleasing light at Thornwood Roundabout, Partick on its first day in service.

A new batch of smog will hit the Beijing-Hebei -Tianjin area from Tuesday, the environment ministry predicted yesterday – as it dismissed online rumours linking the pollution to nuclear radiation.

Frequent winds from the north brought blue skies back to Beijing throughout last week, in a welcome change from the heavy pollution that had dogged much of December.

But the smog is expected to return and cover the middle and southern parts of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei cluster as well as parts of Shandong, Shanxi and Henan provinces, according to a nationwide smog forecasting platform launched by the ministry on January 1.

DAY 6

Is it just me or is each new batch of 600bw just getting better and better???

its that time of year again, fresh new batch of pups

Sometimes it's hard for us to differentiate what's the dream and what's the memory. I't's not just simply the dé jà vu, but more like we confused ourselves due to the lost of memory between what we met in real life and what we got in dream.

Through the image retouching skill I will continue to present to you new batch under the same concept of "scenery from crossover of time & space" . You will see the images were formed by the combination of multiple scenery from different space & time, which created a new whole feel when you saw them.

No hiking this weekend had other plans and the weather is not that great at the moment.

Did spend some time this weekend on developing a few C41 films and right now busy with scanning these films

But these photos are from a few weeks ago after an other developing round with c41 film

These photos are all taken in our own backyard during the few early warm and sunny spring days this year.

Decided to use our "old lady" again. Our oldest Canon Eos camera, the Canon Eos 1

The Canon Eos 1 is the first from a long range of legendary Canon Eos cameras in the 1 series (digital and analog)

Ours is a bit worn and has some signs of use but still works without any issues

Loaded camera with some Fujifilm Superia Xtra 400 with an Expiry date of 06-2019.

Developing was done with our Cinestillfilm Cs41 kit at 39c and 4 minutes

This is the eighth film with the batch of developer mixed on September 9 2020

Since Foma is coating with a new batch of gelatin, the outcome of lith developing is completely different.

less colorful

develops much too fast with the usual amount of overexposure

reducing exposure causes more grain and pale yellow lights

An attempt with a weaker developer, mixed A + B at the usual ratio of 1+1 with a small amount of C and D has no advantage - snatchoint is about15 minutes ore more.

Two tray with a stronger second developer reduces developing time to 10 minutes.

But it is almost impossible to identify a significant color shift.

1st developer 20+20+10+10+500ml (A+B+C+D+water) 5 mins

Second day out for one of a brand new batch of E400MMCs. Wearing branding for the 75 (Milton - City - Castlemilk), a heavily-used service transformed by these 22 buses. Caught heading south in Stockwell Street, Glasgow.

Yesterday was Easter Sunday, and I've been back in NYC for a full week at this point...

I've managed to unpack my suitcases and get more-or-less caught up with the stuff that accumulated in my absence ... but today was the first day that I was able to get back outside with my camera, to resume the "streets of New York" street-photography project that I carried out during much of 2013 and 2014.

Because I have a strong desire to let the photos sit untouched for a month before I start editing them (which involves far less discipline than the late Gary Winogrand, who apparently waited a full year before he got any of his film processed!), I won't be able to inspect any of these street-photography shots until early May.

(For another perspective on waiting a long time before uploading photos, see Eric Kim's March 23, 2015 blog titled, "What I Learned Processing 164 Rolls of Film After Waiting a Year," which you can find on the Internet at erickimphotography.com/blog/2015/03/23/what-i-learned-pro... )

And that means I'll have to spread out my remaining Florida sunrise shots, and probably upload only one new one each day ... unless some other photo project comes along in the next couple of weeks...

Meanwhile, I will continue uploading the old photos from the 1950s in separate batches. I'll be starting a new batch from 1950 tomorrow, and will then have another large bunch from various places I lived in the 1940s ... before uploading some photos taken by my grandparents in the 1920s and 1930s, out in the American West.

If you have any alternative suggestions, please let me know.

Note: I chose this as my "photo of the day" for Apr 07,2015.

********************************

I spent the winter months of 2014-2015 in a warm spot on the beach in Indialantic, FL in order to escape what turned out to be a really brutal winter in the Center of the Universe, as well as most of New England. I'm now back in NYC, but I still have a backlog of Florida shots to edit and upload.

On most of the mornings I was there, I manage to get up about an hour before sunrise every morning, and be out on the beach for a morning walk just as the sun peeked up above the horizon.

On the very first morning, and every morning thereafter, I noticed that I was not the only person on the beach. There werejoggers and walkers out getting their exercise, and *lots* of fishermen casting their lines out into the surf. But down by the 5th Avenue boardwalk -- where you can park your car and get a cup of coffee/latte/whatever from the local Starbucks -- there were lots and lots of people who clearly came down here just to watch the sunrise. This was particularly true after the beginning of Daylight Savings Time, for we then "sprang forward" and celebrated the arrival of dawn about 7:30 AM, instead of 6:30-ish.

These are some of the morning scenes that I saw -- the birds, the people, the long empty beaches, and the glorious sunrise...

'Moveable Type'

A fascinating installation in the lobby of The New York Times Building. Designed by Ben Rubin and Mark Hansen, there are two walls with 560 (280 a wall) small, vacuum fluorescent screens that cull from the newspaper's database snippets of stories, articles, obituaries and the like. It is constantly changing with a tickity-tickity type sound each time a new batch comes in.

Be interesting to know what story the above line came from...

March 1, 2023, Yonkers, NY

A man was arrested today for unlawful discharging of a firearm in public. According to witnesses, at about 8 PM, a man entered the Voluptuous Vixens strip bar on Lockwood Ave brandishing a machine gun type weapon. NYPD Officer Gary Trenton said that apparently, "...all the guys just kept staring all googly-like at the bevy of performers on the stage and simply didn't see the exaggerated arm movements pointing at the guy, nor hear the panicked shouting the dancers were making towards the incoming danger. There eyes were elsewhere, I suppose." Two of the bouncers finally caught on and wrestled him to the floor but, not before a multitude of rounds were sent into the ceiling and at the bar. An interview with one of the patrons, only going by the name Slick, said, "I guess..."

Started this year with shooting some film. On the first day of 2021 we went out for a short stroll in our own neighborhood.

Decided to take only one camera with me and only a few lenses.

Took one of our Canon Eos 3 cameras. This one was still loaded with some Fuji Color Superia X-Tra 400 (Expiry date 06-2019)

Lenses I took along this time were the Canon EF 20-35mm F2.8L, Canon EF 28-70mm F2.8L USM and the trusty "old" Magic Drainpipe Canon EF 80-200 F2.8L

Didn't use the 20-35 actually very much. Perhaps I should have taken the Canon EF 17-35mm F2.8L USM for more wide-angle shots 😁

Developing was done at home with our Cinestillfilm Cs41 kit at 39c and 4 minutes

This was the fifth film with the new batch of developer mixed on September 9 2020

Curious if we can reach over 25 films again and 10 months with this new batch.

The previous developer batch was used to develop 28 films (135-36 format) over an period of 10 months without any problems.

I received a new batch of MMCB cloth gear that Mark so kindly allowed me to commission despite his heavy workload, and could now finish many figs I've been working on. First in line, Commander Bly!

I've had this guy done for about 2 months, but didn't want to post without the cloth gear; it really does complete the figure! My new helmet template opened a new line of possibility for figures, so of course I'm almost obligated to make someone as iconic as Bly (CW adaptation). Decals smoothly cover the helmet and wrap around the legs (not shown). This will be up on the site soon; only ONE of these will be sold!

I have quite a few figures that I should probably post, but all in due time, including the BF4 figures I've been showing. I did also promise an Aiden Pearce figure which is very near completion now. So as always, expect more, and comments speak louder than faves!

A new batch of ghosts and pumpkins, this time not for children, but to offer at an exhibiion the day before Halloween. Thus only the ghosts have faces.

The second week of industrial action at Queens Road has coincided with the return of schools and the majority of buses in use last week have returned home for their usual school duties. To cover the shortfall a new batch have arrived from far and wide unfortunately the majority of the new intakes are oh so boring all white long-distance coaches all with easy access for a mountain climber. Luckily one or two interesting proper buses have also arrived in Manchester and one, although itself all white, is PN03UMG a Plaxton President which makes a welcome (for me anyway) appearance on the 135 to Bury.

A few from last summer. I managed to mess up the developing of some colorfilms. Didn't keep an eye at the temperature while developing.

So ended up with some not so perfect photos from our holiday at the Veluwe. The colors are not the way it should be but still do like photos.

These photos were taken while hiking at Kootwijkerzand

We decided to take only two analog cameras with us during our stay at the Veluwe and a few of the older/classic lenses

A Canon Eos 33 and one of our Canon Eos 3 bodies with the Canon EF 17-35 F2.8L, 28-70 F2.8L and the magic drain pipe 80-200 F2.8L were used.

Loaded the Canon Eos 33 with colorfilm and the Canon Eos 3 with black and white film.

The Canon Eos 33 camera was loaded with some Fujicolor Superia X-tra 400 with an expiry date 06-2019

Developing was done with our Cinestillfilm Cs41 kit at a wrong temperature (to low) and 3.5 minutes

After returning home from the Veluwe mixed a new batch developer and blix

The last batch was made in October 2019 and used for almost a year and 28 films.

Let's see how long and how many films we can develop with this batch, this is the first film done with the new batch.

This batch is still being used at this moment and have developed 11 films so far

While up in Chingford for an essential odd working, I photographed a few other bits, too.

A few shots back in the stream, I illustrated an 'Ee' vehicle, from the 212 batch, on the 106 – a route Go Ahead recently took over from Arriva.

But both the batches of 'Ee's are mixed on both routes and here is the opposite variation: one of the new batch for the 106 seen here on the 212.

Ee28 is almost at the end of the route and is letting of the last few passengers at Chingford Green.

A moody monochrome from inside the Norman Foster designed Canary Wharf Underground station. I like the way that the viewer has no certainty as to whether the photo is looking up, down or sideways (clue : it's the latter......).

For years it seemed like the development of Canary Wharf had stood still, presumably a result of the 2008 banking crisis. When I visited the area a couple of years ago it was apparent that construction had resumed and as a result there's now a new batch of shiny new buildings to photograph.

As a result I've chosen Canary Wharf as the start point for the upcoming London Flickr Group Photowalk on Sunday 8th, May. More info here if that's sound like it would be something you're interested in taking part in : www.flickr.com/groups/londonflickrgroup/discuss/721577219...

From Wikipedia, "Canary Wharf is a London Underground station at Canary Wharf and is on the Jubilee line, between Canada Water and North Greenwich. The station is located in Travelcard Zone 2 and was opened on 17 September 1999 as part of the Jubilee Line Extension. Over 40 million people pass through the station each year, making it second busiest on the London Underground outside Central London after Stratford, and also the busiest that serves only a single line."

New batch of stickers just got in.

Today, when I wasn't baking, I was painting little faces.

My alternate of 7am, in the end, the one of just Phoenix won out, it was just more dynamic for me.

But I do love this.

An outtake.

Please be sure to check out round 2 of The Hours blog in the morning, as there will be a new batch of images, from 10 more amaaaaazing gals, awesome friends who all met here on Flickr. The coolest, right?

#2948 - 2016 Day 26: A new batch of homemade lemon marmalade; just getting ourselves in a citrussy kind of mood for next month's next jaunt to Andalucia, where oranges and lemons will be in such profusion that we will just have to drive over them - you know what I mean. Lemon marmalade in the dark of a foul January night is rather warming, don't you think.

I think I may have only posted one or two photos from this shoot, which makes me realize that I probably have entire shoots that have never seen the light of day (or anyone else's computer screen).

Using the friend of a friend benefits that come along with photographing people, I met Alexis through Iryna and we had a quick shoot back in May when I was testing out a newer batch of IP film. I've forgotten lots of things about this day, but I do remember that I did't have nearly enough time to shoot with these two because Alexis had to head out almost as soon as she got there. But as always, I made the most of the time I did have.

These images were taken at Skyland Resort in the Shenandoah National Park on March 27, 2015. When we got up the cloud still covered the mountain. The film was developed in Caffenol C-L and fixed as usual. I noticed that the negatives were kind of gray. A closer examination showed the unexposed part of the film was still gray meaning the fixer had not completed it’s work. I mixed a new batch of fixer and fixed the film and 2nd time.

Lothian Buses Gemini 3 Facelift bodied Volvo B5TL number 447 (SJ66 LPE) ‘Elian’ is seen on Shandwick Place on a service X19 to Regent Road.

Taken on Thursday the 18th of September 2025.

To the left a tram negotiates the temporary speed restriction of 5kmh which has been in place here at the points for a while now. The van seems to not have fixed the problem, and trams are still crawling along at 5kmh where I believe they’re otherwise able to do 30. Now the focus of this photo isn’t those points, but the green bus fae the west. Service X19 is still quite new, and 447 ‘Elian’ here, a new 22 nearly 9 years ago now, has recently been repainted into green and moved to Livi.

Lothian Buses Gemini 3 number 447 (SJ66 LPE) ‘Elian’ was new in January 2017. 441-465 were all new between late 2016 and early 2017 branded as ‘new 22s’ for then flagship service 22 between the Gyle and Ocean Terminal. Service 22 is now very different, and these buses have been more common on other routes for years now, recently most of them joined Lothian Country like this one here.

These were the first new buses new in this version of madder and white, known as ‘Glass Staircase’, or more commonly as ‘Fleet of the Future’ or ‘FOTF’. These buses are also unique in not being delivered with any next stop screens or announcements, although they were the first new batch with USB charging points.

The unofficial name ‘Elian’ comes from me giving some of this batch regular human names.

I do now have a web page of all the unofficial names I have given to Lothian Buses and Edinburgh Trams currently in the fleet, linked on my flickr page, it’s just on my ‘Info’ page. Feel free to have a look!

Also – if anyone is interested in making name suggestions/naming some buses, then I would be happy for anyone who wants to name 791-798 (or 791-800 if that ends up being the case). I’m happy to name them myself or with friends, but incase anyone is wanting to contribute some names then go ahead!

Service X19 was introduced in it’s current form on Sunday the 1st of December 2024 (Day U3258). It runs between the M9 Junction on Beatlie Road in Winchburgh to Regent Road in New Town/Broughton via Kirkliston, Newbridge, Corstorphine, Haymarket and Princes Street.

The route is very similar to the eastern half of McGill’s service X38.
