Wow!!!
The day started musically, with refreshing water sound play, as the basics of Music.
Shape Hopscotch: an educative way to improve on their fine motor skills, gave a wonderful learning experience.
Wall number game for numeracy was also exciting.
To enhance their literacy skills, they sorted out phonics by sending phonic mails.
Archeologist!! Archeology!!
Yes… at White Fields Nursery, archeologists were busy digging up old remains of dinosaurs and insects.
Kids enjoyed Water play, during which they had to search for the sea animals in their own little sea.
They enjoyed the ring game and painting activities, and also had a great time learning about number 4 and counting with pom poms.
During outdoor game, kids played a "hit the target" game.
The day ended with a balloon tennis game.
A day to explore and to enjoy…

"Alpensterne is a musically diversified group performing some of Germany’s most loved folk songs with the yodeling of Jim Strehlke. Jim mastered the art of yodeling from one of Germany’s finest, Sepp Diepolder. Alpensterne likes to involve the crowd by playing “name that tune” on the 15-foot Swiss Alphorn." www.jodler.us/
You know, I was raised in a time when people weren't as far apart as they are now - at least musically. There were only a handful of radio stations in any given market - all AM - and almost all "Top 40". So the white kids listened to Motown, and the little brown kids listened to the Beatles, and I can't help but believe that both of our worlds were enlarged and enriched by that exposure. Plus, we all shared a commonality based on music.
Now - ironically in the name of "diversity", we have been divided and the parts of America that were once almost joined are drifting apart again. Division and separation is never, ever good for a nation. Or even for music. I heard the president of Motown Records accusing America of abandoning black music - but from my perspective, it was Motown that abandoned me. Dion Warwick, Stevie Wonder and Diana Ross were replaced by potty-mouthed, crotch-grabbing thugs flashing gang signs to an ultra-low bass beat...
Dude - I don't wanna hear about how tough it is being a heavily armed gangsta millionaire - I just wanna sing along and maybe even dance around the house...

"A Place in the Sun" - by Stevie Wonder
like a long lonely stream
I keep running toward a dream
movin' on, movin' on
like a branch on a tree
I keep reachin' to be free
movin' on, movin' on
cause there's a place in the sun
where there's hope for everyone
where my poor restless heart's gotta run
there's a place in the sun
and before my life is done
got to find me a place in the sun
like an old dusty road
I get weary from the load
movin' on, movin' on
like this tired troubled earth
I've been rollin' since my birth
movin' on, movin' on
there's a place in the sun
where there's hope for everyone
where my poor restless heart's gotta run
there's a place in the sun
and before my life is done
got to find me a place in the sun
you know when times are bad
and you're feelin' sad
I want you to always remember
yes, there's a place in the sun
where there's hope for everyone
where my poor restless heart's gotta run
I know there's a place in the sun

Two weeks in NOLA for the mardi gras 2017
Founded in 1993, the Krewe of Orpheus takes its name from the musically-inclined son of Zeus and Calliope. Founding members included Harry Connick, both the junior and senior.
In New Orleans, the krewe established themselves as a superkrewe with their first parade in 1994, which rolled with 700 riders. They were the first super Krewe to allow both male and female riders.
The Krewe's throws include a number of popular items including emblem beads, stuffed animals, signature beads, light-up Orpheus medallion beads, cups, three different types of doubloons, and 4-foot-long stuffed dragons.
They have a number of notable floats including the Dolly Trolley, the horse-drawn bus that was used in the opening of Hello Dolly with Barbra Streisand, the Smoking Mary which is a six unit float that looks like a steam locomotive, a Trojan horse and the Orpheus Leviathan Float, which is a three unit, 139-foot float, and the first Carnival float to use extensive fiber optic lighting.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Fats Domino wass the honorary grand marshall for 2014. His eldest son, Antoine Domino III, rode in the parade and perform his 85 year old father's music.
In addition to Fats Domino, Quentin Tarantino reigned as the krewe's celebrity monarch.

Olivia is quite musically gifted. She is caught up in playing a beautiful, romantic song on her Barbie violin.
Olivia's been here since November of 2007. Blanches are another Pullip with the kind of colorful faceup I really like. I love all the pink blushiness with her brown eyemakup, dark red lips, and olive green eyes. She's borrowing a Takara Jenny Victorian Excelina's dress. Since the bonnet that goes with it won't fit her big head, I layered some ribbon, lace, and trims to complete her look.

And so it was that later
as the miller told his tale
that her face, at first just ghostly,
turned a whiter shade of pale
She said, 'There is no reason
and the truth is plain to see.'
But I wandered through my playing cards
and would not let her be
one of sixteen vestal virgins
who were leaving for the coast
and although my eyes were open
they might have just as well've been closed...
... A Whiter... Shade of Pale

I'm off to run errands this evening (ugh). We're throwing a NYE party that is growing in guests by the minute. I must apologize for my absence on all of your streams as of late. The holidays...the blizzards...the board reports that are due soon...and now hostess duties are all tearing me away from my beloved Flickr.

After all you put me through
You'd think I'd despise you
But in the end
I wanna thank you 'cause you made that much stronger
Well I thought I knew you, thinkin' that you were true
Guess I, I couldn't trust called your bluff time is up
'Cause I've had enough
You were there by my side, always down for the ride
But your joy ride just came down in flames
'Cause your greed sold me out of shame, mhm
After all of the stealing and cheating you probably think that
I hold resentment for you
But uh uh, oh no, you're wrong
'Cause if it wasn't for all that you tried to do, I wouldn't know
Just how capable I am to pull through
So I wanna say thank you
'Cause it
Chorus:
Makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
Makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter
Never, saw it coming
All of, your backstabbing
Just so, you could cash in
On a good thing before I realized your game
I heard, you're going around
Playing, the victim now
But don't, even begin
Feeling I'm the one to blame
'Cause you dug your own grave, uh huh
After all of the fights and the lies
Yes you wanted to harm me but that won't work anymore
Uh, no more, oh no, it's over
'Cause if it wasn't for all of your torture
I wouldn't know how to be this way now, and never back down
So I wanna say thank you
Chorus:
Makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
It makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter
How could this man I thought I knew
Turn out to be unjust so cruel
Could only see the good in you
Pretended to not to see the truth
You tried to hide your lies, disguise yourself
Through living in denial
But in the end you'll see
YOU-WON'T-STOP-ME
I am a fighter and I
I ain't goin' stop
There is no turning back
I've had enough
Chorus:
Makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
It makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter
Thought I would forget, but I
I remember
Cause I remember
I remember

"I saw it written and I saw it say,
Pink moon is on it's way.
And none of you stand so tall,
Pink moon gonna get ye all.
And it’s a pink moon
Yes, a pink moon... pink, pink, pink, pink, pink moon."
But you forgive though you don't understand
You've turned your head
You've dropped by hand
All my sorrow, all my blues
All my sorrow
Shut the light, go away
Full of grace, you cover your face

I've lost weight w/o trying. And the "w/o trying" part is what makes me not like it. Yay for losing that last bit of babyweight, but I wasn't trying to, so when I realized I did in the midst of the weeks I was upset and down it just made me feel unhealthy. I'm back down to the weight when the HunHun met me. Not the clothes size b/c there's pudge from the babies though. You can see it in this picture, b/c i'm pulling my hoodie forward, and i'm wearing leggings.
Anyway, I'm back to eating more even though my appetite has changed.
I spoke up about something yesterday that i felt was disrespectful to me, and i didn't get the support and back up i thought i'd get. Today a part of my heart and mind feel indifferent, and i'm not sure about that. Not sure if I run with it or if I fight that.

Sue (snorts): “Elliot may not be as well-educated as Hallam is, but still I think that he’s pretty clever. Musically, he’s a genius. And otherwise… Well, he has made some very bad decisions, but then – who hasn’t? And you seem to be forgetting the fact that you like bad boys.” (winks at Sybil with a smirk on her face)
Sybil (looks up at the ceiling): “I don’t know what you mean. Cable ties are a clever idea… You’re right, he’s not that stupid. But still very rough in his manners…”
Sue (firmly): “Look… Here's what's going to happen: if you don’t find a way to meet halfway with Elliot, you are going to lose him to somebody else. And then you will be sorry, very sorry. He’s the love of your life, isn’t he?”
Sybil (turns to look at Sue): “So what? I’m allowed to teach him a lesson – again. You have to train them well before tying the knot with them, or they’ll never learn.”
Sue (stares at her confused): “Was that a nettle at me? Okay, I admit that I rushed into marriage with Rico, and it didn’t turn out well because of it. But you on the other hand have had eight long years to think what Elliot means to you, and you're getting a second chance here. Not many people get that. And please don’t try to lie to me and say that you didn’t give him another thought while you were separated. And what do you mean by ‘tying the knot’? Are you thinking… (eyes widen) of marrying him someday?”
Sybil (snorts): “Gosh… I don’t know… Maybe… He definitely has not let me understand that he would want it, though.”
Sue (intrigued): “But you would? (leans forward and stares at Sybil amazed) Oh… my… God! You’re actually waiting for him to propose to you?!”
Sybil (gives her a forced smile): “He's not the marrying kind. Like I said, I’m with Hallam now. We’ve seen each other every Friday night for the last three weeks, and we’ll be doing so this evening, too.”
Sue: “Yeah! At Elliot’s gig! Is it really necessary for you to flaunt with him in front of Elliot’s eyes? Geez… Ditch Gladstone already and give poor Donald a chance, okay?”
Sybil: “Elliot has made you read too much comics… It’s not good for anybody. Besides, what if I want to keep them both? Daisy still succeeds in it after 60 years.” (raises her chin up)
Sue (rolls eyes): “Argh! Who has read too much comics now? You’re being impossible!”
Sybil (smugly): “No, I’m being desirable in not one but two men’s eyes. It sounds like you are a teeny bit jealous, my friend.”

My host mom is the manager of the pictured band and let the kids come with us that night to see all the hard work she and the band have put in week after week. She used to sing in a locally famous band herself back in the day, but gave it up to take care of her 3 beautiful (crazy) children and the rest of the family. Now she imparts her vast knowledge and wisdom on the musically gifted youth she manages.

There was finally enough color to take an autumn photo from the location of the original winter fence composition. Here is a composite of the winter, spring, and fall images... (I guess I forgot to take one for summer :P).
Led Zeppelin - #47/52 in my Musically Inspired set
This is the springtime of my loving - the second season I am to know
You are the sunlight in my growing - so little warmth I've felt before.
It isn't hard to feel me glowing - I watched the fire that grew so low.
It is the summer of my smiles - flee from me Keepers of the Gloom.
Speak to me only with your eyes. It is to you I give this tune.
Ain't so hard to recognize - These things are clear to all from time to time.
Talk, talk, talk, talk...
I've felt the coldness of my winter
I never thought it would ever go.
I cursed the gloom that set upon us...
But I know that I love you so.
These are the seasons of emotion, and like the winds they rise and fall.
This is the wonder of devotion. I see the torch we all must hold.
This is the mystery of the quotient. Upon us all a little rain must fall.
