During the heatwave, on our way back from the swimming pool/beach, passed a shop where those fashion accessories were 'just hanging around', I went into the shop and asked the lady if I could photograph them... sure I could... I felt her frown and questioning eyes boring into my back...

Photographers... a strange species... tee hee.

Image for comment code (award) appreciation badge or invitation of the new restored Group EXTRACOLOUR www.flickr.com/groups/extracolour/

*Award = symbolic appreciation and recognition given spontaneously, voluntarily and with much intent because not forced and without any obligation.

Dear friends, as you can read in the thread of the old Extracolor Group (www.flickr.com/groups/extracolor/discuss/72157719218017436/), in order to avoid the abrupt activity of an admin who steadily removes almost all the photos in the stream and frequently bans members for no reasons, together with the founder of the former group, Alfonso, we decided to migrate this great group so that the restored one will be prevented from any trolling action.

You are all invited & welcome to join the new refounded group EXTRACOLOUR www.flickr.com/groups/extracolour/ !

The scope of the group is to host an elegant array of artistic pictures characterized by very vivid bright colours.

Admitted are: artistic photographic images & fine art pictures.

3 photos a day with no approval queue.

(Photos which don't qualify will be removed with no prior notice)

All invited to join in!

But, please, mind this is NOT a "whatever all in": you may check the group stream & you will have a clue of such a quality we research from ourselves & expect from the others ;-) and always respecting the individual differences.

(Below, how the new award & invitation will look like)

For Smile on Saturday: “Selective multicolour”

If you want blocks of colour then you can't go wrong copying the work of Piet Mondrian. Bright yellow, hot red and dark blue should be the proper choice but when you're making it with little strips of Post-it notes (the ones for highlighting an item) then you have to just make due. Oh, and that's why it's titled M-M-Mondrian - 3M / Post-it's.....well it seemed like a good idea at the time.

HMM.

Coloured ink on paper

"Well I think about all the other ways I could've played

All the other simple moves I could've made

All the other cards that I could've dealt

All the books I didn't read upon my shelf

All the other ways I could've sung my songs

I've realized that none of it wen't wrong

It was all play

How could it be any other way?"

Lyrics from this song - definetly worth a listen!

Special thanks must go to Aaron for supplying most of the happiness!

Its days like these that I realize nothing went wrong in the first place and that I have everything to live for and everything to smile about. Its days like these where I go home and cover myself head to toe in oil paint.

My camera is now very, very colourful :)

Warrington experienced a stunning multicolour visual display in the night skies as the Northern Lights danced above the town.

One of my Grandsons Keyboard. At 10 it's crazy how fast he can move his fingers around it. Playing games on the pc has made the keyboard an extension of his hand lol

Next weekend 22nd and 23rd September is again London Open House and as usual I will be visiting on both days. On Sunday I will be leading a group round from Bognor Regis Camera Club and the 4 locations include this one at One Bishops Square last visited in 2016. The view is looking down on one of the 2 Atriums. On the left is the lift shaft and in the centre is an art installation that hangs down 11 floors. It comprises 200 flowers made from canvas which are triggered to open and close by hidden movement sensors, to reflect movement of any chosen environment, inside or outside the building. Their colours echo those used in the different zones of the building.

This was an example of a building doing Open House really well though it does have the benefit of plenty of space. The tour was self guided with arrows pointing the way and staff placed at strategic points. The result was no queue. There were several large Atriums and a roof terrace and cafe with views over the City. I spent over an hour in the building.

The picture was taken handheld with the camera held over the drop. Luckily I have no problem with heights. The image was taken with a Sony A700 with a Sigma 10-20 mm lens at 13mm. I took 3 shots for HDR processed in Photomatix using Contrast Optimizer for a natural look. Processing using Topaz DeNoise and Topaz Clarity applied to part with a layer mask. Further editing using Adjustment Layers for brightness and saturation.

Macro Monday : "multi colour"

Another shot of my pretty drinking glasses! Although they are made of plastic, I am using in the house as regular glasses, and they are very popular with the family!

« Douce, belle, amoureuse et bien-fleurante Rose,

Que tu es à bon droit aux amours consacrée !

Ta délicate odeur hommes et Dieux recrée,

Et bref, Rose, tu es belle sur toute chose. »

Pierre de Ronsard, Second Livre des Amours (1578)

Sweet, beautiful, loving and well-blooming Rose,

That you are rightfully devoted loves!

Your delicate smell men and God recreates,

And short, Rose, you are beautiful on everything.

Pierre de Ronsard, Second Book of Love (1578)

From Ronsard to Shakespeare via Verlaine...

Many poets have found in the rose the allegory of love.

Venerated by men since antiquity, the queen of flowers knows how to express all the nuances of feelings.

Throughout its history, it has forged a complex language.

It is today the cut flower the most sold in the world!

Pink Roses

Symbol: The pink rose conveys affection, sweetness, modesty, fidelity and pays homage to feminine beauty.

She can express a feeling of love, but with a much softer sense than the red rose.

I wish you all a lovely day and thank you for your visit, M, (*_*)

Made a new LED stick, using addressable strips and hacking them into the control unit from a Bitbanger Labs Pixelstick.

It's got some potential for full-on psychedelic overload style shots.

No post processing. (Plenty of pre-processing though...)

My entry for this week's Macro Mondays challenge, Multicolour!

This is an Xbox One controller lit using a diffused speedlight.

I tried to get the sheen off the button surfaces, but that made the lighting even trickier than I thought. But upon post processing, I rather like it, in spite of it being a bit annoying :)

This pic started life as a macro of 4 highlighter pens. After a bit of mucking about in Affinity Photo, then framing in Topaz Studio it became a Multicolour Abstract.
