Move Your Building by Danny Rose at Vivid Sydney

The grand, heritage exterior of Customs House at Circular Quay has proven to be a striking canvas for Vivid in recent years. This year, for the first time, Customs House becomes interactive with Move Your Building.Spectacular 3D mapped projections that are controlled by you and accompanied by music illuminating the façade of one of Sydney’s landmark heritage sites.

You just choose a tune from a playlist, decide the graphic theme for the building and start dancing on a mini dance floor located in front of the building. As you dance and move, you’ll be interacting with the building via the latest projection and mapping technology.

Move Your Building is a collaboration between French design company, Danny Rose, TDC – Technical Direction Company, Customs House and the City of Sydney.

"The Man of 1,000 moves" Mike Quackenbush defeated "Gentleman" Jervis Cottonbelly in a highly entertaining opening match.

The last gothic-revival cottage, built in 1883, has been cut in two, after the steep roof was removed, and is up on a trailer, ready to roll through the streets just after dawn.

With valorie all moved in we set aside a day for her and I. I wanted to go somewhere to shoot but i had no idea where. I thought about trying to do some more sunset beach shots since our last outing didn't go so well but i decided to be closer to home so we could then go out to dinner. We made the trek to one of my favorite portrait locations whittier hills. Once again i didn't get the great oranish light from the sunset but i was able to make due with what i had. Val was in top from again and gave me so much to work with. We had a blast and even avoid being eaten alive by fire ants. Its great to have my best friend living with me because now i have my own personal live in model. Quite the fun day.

A new chapter for Pataphysical Studios started today, as we moved the 'Pataphysical Slot Machine to a new home. Our poetic oracle made its maiden journey to the hilltop ranch of Drs. Canard and Figurine, after six years of art incubation in Dr. Rindbrain’s backyard.

The move went very smoothly, with a fine crew of goggled pataphysicians on hand. It took us about four hours to load, unload and set up the exhibit, on a balmy Saturday afternoon. Getting the electronics connected took about an hour — and we got it all working, with a bit of soldering and ritual incantations.

We celebrated this historic occasion with a shot of absinthe and lots of good cheer. Ubu and the Slot Machine seem to fit right in their new home: a lovely guest room with a private entrance, overlooking an idyllic garden with views of the bay.

We plan to host viewing parties and open studios every few months, so others in our community can get to experience the Slot Machine and its magical wonderboxes. Long live Ubu!

“I'd rather have a Pawn than a finger” ~ Reuben Fine

So I'm back to these cool glass chess pieces we have, but this time I thought I'd highlight the white ones as they are so translucent. I actually had a different idea, but didn't have any color gels and didn't feel like running to the camera store. So, I morphed my idea into this. I really like the way the strobe lights up the pawn... no, PS only enhanced it, but didn't create the glow.

TGIF! Oh, and it's 10:30AM here, and I'm already up with my PAD. Nice... got the rest of the day to clean up and prep for Sunday!!! For those not in the know, Sunday is SUPERBOWL!

A busy weekend ahead with that game, and tomorrow is our neighbor's daughter's wedding. Can't believe she's getting married. Most likely my PAD will be from there.

Anyway, I'm gonna go clean up this mess I created and start to enjoy the weekend! Happy Friday everyone!

...and I'm gone!"

There are deer all over the place out in back of my house these days

There were several deer out in the field yesterday when Leo, Floydd and I took our walk.

This little button buck was intrigued enough by the cats to come pretty close, but as you can see, he's poised to bolt if I decide to move towards him."
