Parents of students attending USC Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism visit Alumni Park, behind the new Wallis Annenberg Hall for a Move-In Day celebration on August 20, 2014.
Students began the 2011-12 school year on Sunday with move in day. Campus and community organizations assisted with the move. This week will be filled with activities geared toward getting new students acclimated and ready to start classes on Thursday.
trying to be fashionable at the driving range with these hilarious gloves i bought for 3 euros at a flohmarkt (i think they're for weightlifting, or bike-riding?? who cares!). unfortunately they didn't help my swing...
The weather's been so nice lately, that it's been possible to move a number of my seedlings out onto the balcony. I've limited myself to the plants that have been planted into "larger" pots (I think the peat pots I've been using to germinate seeds would dry out much too quickly).
For the most part, things have done quite well, although I really didn't grasp the importance of hardening the plants off. Because I'd only ever gardened in a Mediterranean-style climate before, I hadn't run into this particular problem before - I'd always just kept my germinating seeds outside - they were hardened from the start! I've lost a few plants to this - mainly tomato and basil, but there's been some others, too. I can't say that I've got a fail-safe hardening off process yet, but I am learning!
I've put a mounding nasturtium in a hanging pot - I have visions of bringing it inside occasionally once it starts flowering - we'll see how well it tolerates that!

Last week, I decided to finally do something for the gorgeous curvy girls and I've made four ooak fashions (now in my shop!).
For three of them I've used one of my latest additions to the fabric stash - a gorgeous black and dark grey pattern print, sooo beautiful!
Nellie and Luna are my models this time, Nellie is a Made to move Curvy Barbie. I might do a little repaint with her some day...
