I Toto approdano il 10 marzo al Mediolanum Forum di Assago a Milano
con il tour promozionale di "40 Trips Around the Sun", ultimo disco della band statunitense, con cui celebrano i 40 anni di carriera. Il tour sarà uno dei più lunghi degli ultimi anni e girerà tutto il mondo per celebrare la duratura carriera della band.
Congiuntamente al lancio del tour i Toto, insieme a Legacy Recording, hanno realizzato un nuovo Greatest Hits. L’album conterrà nuovo materiale non ancora pubblicato e grandi classici rimasterizzati grazie al lavoro di Elliot Scheiner & Gavin Lurssen e il loro team. I membri storici dei Toto, Steve Lukather, David Paich, Steve Porcaro, Joseph Williams, sono tornati in studio l’anno scorso per lavorare sul materiale.
“Io, David, Steve e Joseph siamo commossi ed elettrizzati dal lunghissimo successo della band,” ha detto Steve Lukather. “Questo tour del quarantesimo anniversario sarà qualcosa di speciale per noi e per tutti i fan che parteciperanno. Inoltre, è una bellissima emozione collaborare di nuovo con Sony Music. Abbiamo trascorso molto tempo quest’anno a lavorare su nuova musica e rimasterizzare i vecchi brani.”
Pochi gruppi, nella storia della musica, hanno lasciato individualmente o collettivamente un’impronta più vasta nella cultura popolare dei membri dei Toto. Singolarmente, i membri della band possono essere ascoltati in 5000 album che collettivamente rappresentano una vendita totale di mezzo miliardo di album. Tra tutti questi dischi, NARAS (National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences) ha premiato le performance con oltre 200 nomination ai Grammy Awards.
Prossimi ai quaranta anni passati insieme e con migliaia di presenze, incluso l’album con il maggior numero di vendite di tutti i tempi, Thriller di Michael Jackson, e di riconoscimenti, i Toto rappresentano ancora una delle band di maggior successo di vendita nel mondo sia a livello di tour che di album.
