Irene’s powerplant is a 2.4L stroker engine. Custom spec 88mm Wiseco forged pistons and a 99mm stroke from a modified K24 crankshaft. Brian Crower connecting rods, ARP studs, Cometic head gasket. The block is sleeved with Darton’s ductile iron sleeves and each cylinder is bored to its respective piston. Each piston and rod is weighed and assembled together for the best possible balance. We’re not reinventing the wheel here. What we’re doing is being meticulous on the little things that make a reliable engine. The efficiencies translate in power but most importantly it’s the reliability we’re getting as they are proving to last in our other builds for endurance racing. In this first stage build of Irene, we’re aiming for a 9:1 horsepower to weight ratio. We feel this will be a good starting power to weight for the type of racing Tom is looking to participate in. The additional stroke will be an advantage especially for hill climb events. The top end consists of a mildly hand ported cylinder head, Toda Racing Spec C camshafts and cam gears, Supertech Inconel valves, valve springs and titanium retainers. The area we put a lot of attention to was in the grinding/clerancing of the rocker arms. Toda cams requires this because the aggressive lobes interfere with them. As we’re creating clearance we also went one step further and balanced each rocker within .5 of a gram. Lastly we polished the rockers to help shed oil faster and return back to the oil pan.
Modified Windows Vista using the calibri theme like I use in Windows XP.
