Visit to the historic Ford Piquette avenue Assembly plant - #27 - Where 12,000 Model T cars were assembled between 1908 and 1910. The plant is in the historic Milwaukee Junction area of Detroit, where many car manufactures open there doors - and quite a few closed their door a short time later.

A couple hours of old school Ford Model T racing... Lots of fun! The biggest event this group has run yet, over a dozen cars took to the track...
Three weeks ago in Jay Oklahoma. That's about as far as I want to drive my buggy unless the roads are a LOT smoother than those....

This is Herb and his 1924, Model T, Ford truck. Herb is one of the curators for a local truck museum. Here, at the age of 86, Herb has taken me on a trek back in time. On a rainy day in May, we drove this truck down through back woods and across grassy meadows. We drove, without incident, across a bare, muddy corn field, and out along an old abandoned trolley bed (shown here). The whole way we traversed bumpy and muddy dirt roads and pathways. The old Ford never skipped a beat and traveled across the muddy biways as if it were on paved highway. Cars and trucks back then were built to travel on roads just like this. Most roads back in 1924 weren't paved, and hosted their share of ruts and mud. Several times along the way, Herb reached up, grabbed the knob on a single flat wiper blade, and pulled it across the windshield. Herb powered the intermittent wiper that, until now, you may have assumed was a modern invention. Along the way, Herb shared some memories and spat knowledge of old trucks and how it was to travel back in the days when... Herb took me back in time. For an ever so brief moment, we rode together back to 1924. It was wet, muddy, and wonderful.
One of the many fascinating displays at The Henry Ford Museum of Innovation in Dearborn, Michigan is that you can sit and watch a pair of museum docents assemble by hand in front of you a Ford Model T. Done in this fashion, it takes them a bit of time to complete their task.

This vintage ambulance wears a fair bit of patina all around and its engine block is holed. Nonetheless, its apparent unrestored state adds a nice bit of authenticity to the entire package. The bodywork rear of the cab has been finished in wood while the front sports standard T panels. Records indicate that the vehicle has been in the Netherlands since at least 1990.

A well-worn example with plenty of patina, this Model T truck is a perfect candidate for restoration. This early model has received modifications including a later style hood and truck bodywork. As shown by the CA prefix in the engine number, this T was constructed in Canada. Registration documents accompanying the car date to 1994.
Standing on the town street at Beamish Museum is this very elegant British-built version of the world famous Ford Model T. This particular semi convertible example, known as a landaulette, was built in 1917 and is UK registered Y 9565.
