The Model T is a 1919. The year is 1922. It's summer and times are good. The location is Ypsilanti, Michigan.

btw - The car is not a B&W. It's simply black. That's the way Henry Ford wanted it.

Hope ya'all enjoy..........

1915 Ford Model T Coupelet.

By the time production ended on May 25, 1927, Ford had built 15,006,625 Model Ts. It’s a record that has only been beaten by some 22 million Volkswagen Beetles and will likely never be equaled again. Of course, not all of those Ts were exactly alike. And some were more different than others.

Consider this one. To begin, it’s from 1915, a transitional year for the T. The headlights are now electric, although still trimmed in brass. The radiator remains brass as well, but a sheetmetal cowl has replaced the flat wooden firewall. New body styles appeared for ’15, including Ford’s first sedan and this, Ford’s first true convertible.

Henry called it a Coupelet. The cabriolet top is felt-lined and insulated, and looks convincingly permanent when closed. Fully framed glass slides down into the doors, and the frames themselves fold flat, out of sight. Even so, the $750 Coupelet looked matronly compared to the stripped and lanky $440 runabout. Because owners complained about visibility, Ford added “opera windows” midway through the model year but it’s hard to see how they could have helped. Ford assembled 2417 Coupelets for 1915, outpacing the sedan’s 989 units, but of minor significance next to 47,116 runabouts and 244,181 touring cars.

In 1916 the T lost the brass trim on its headlights. The Coupelet continued, but with its top made of synthetic rather than genuine leather. The price fell to $590, and sales rose slightly (to 3532); but as a fraction of Ford’s growing production the Coupelet lost ground.

For 1917, Ford restyled the T’s front end, providing a rounder, smoother look. Even the radiator was now painted black. Ford literature shows a 1917 Coupelet, but the model was replaced early in the year by a fixed-roof Coupe. The new Coupe’s center pillars could be removed, anticipating by several decades the breezy, “hardtop” look.

Thank You for Your Kind Visit

at the Washington's Crossing show

Recorded on the grounds of the Volo Car Museum - July, 2020. Might be the final of being able to obtain pictures of vintage cars and trucks on the grounds. Toward the end of 2020, I noticed that the owners appeared to be taking away any and all vintage cars, trucks and/or equipment on their grounds. Apparently they don’t want anyone taking pictures “free of charge” on their grounds. In today’s screwed up world everyone wants to make sure no one is given the chance of getting anything without having to pay for it!

………… Btw, there is a $50. charge to be allowed to (look at) this picture.

The cameraman, grips and gaffers from the Keystone Film Company have arrived in Golden, Colorado to do the preparation work for a new comedy with Buster Keaton.

The railroad station is all a twitter with excitement! The film will be shot at nearby, Red Rocks and locals are thrilled. Maybe someday, the city will build a park there but for now, this is the most exciting thing to happen in ages.

Right about now, some of you are calling, "shenanigans"!

"You guys did the Buster Keaton and Max Sennet visit to Red Rocks way back in September of 2018! That Model T almost got hit by a train"!

That is one of the perks to having a time machine. We can go back to any story we have done and create a prequel. All it takes is a premise. Even the flimsiest of premises will do.

We can always claim, "Artistic License".

This is what it looked like in 2018. Note the skis uner the front axle and the caterpillar tracks in back. I've seen more recent pictures that show that it has been cleaned up and completely restored or possibly replaced. Personally I think it is better as it is in this shot and probably was like it was when last used. After all, I doubt that it came from the factory as a snowmobile, but I clearly could be wrong. Part of what Copilot Ai said: " Ford did not manufacture snowmobiles based on the Model T directly. However, snowmobile conversion kits were sold through Ford dealers."

Visited one of my favorite garden center's for pansies, mums, and pumpkins and saw this green beauty in the front which held pumpkins and hay bales. I'm told it's one of two the owner has and uses for displays every year.

I've been out for awhile. My grandkids were here and after they left, I came down with a flu bug and have been out of commission. Finally feeling better. :)

Apparently in the 1930s this was the premises of a valet and car hire service operated by a gentleman called Daniel Leakin.

Imagine my delight at seeing this old car parked in green grass, in from of this red barn . . . could anything be better?
