Here are a few recent additions to my brass locomotive collection.

The Dapol model of D1058 Western Nobleman (Western class) is almost beyond belief in its detail at this fine scale. You get a packet of additional bits (pipes etc) to augment it still further and you even get a complete spare bogie (truck) assembly. You also get a choice of NEM-standard couplings. This picture was taken just after the loco was received from the UK and I hadn't yet installed the (Arnold-style) couplers ... so it wasn't REALLY coupled to these Mk2 air-conditioned coaches.

An urban landscape model railroad scene is depicted at the Mad City Model Railroad Show. he lock and dam is fully functional as is the Acme sign. In the foreground, near the red car in the parking lot, a young boy flies a model airplane. This too is fully functional.

Nearly finished passengers cars take their first test run behind a Great Northern 4-6-0

We found an old gndola in the Norfolk Southern yard in Columbia lettered for Conrail loaded with steel coils.

This is a model that I started a few years ago, then it got put on the back burner for a while. I plan to complete the model soon. It started as an early Akane SP AC-11/12, I am converting it to an earlier type AC-6.

There has been a fire at the Schloß. This happens quite often, after ten years this has happened over 500,000 times. You'd think the fire engines could just keep parking there, but no, they drive to the spot each time.

MRT #76 is seen at Kalmbach Media. Judging by its cupola, it's probably an ex-BN caboose.

I bought this little brass model yesterday. They are scarce, with very few made. These are the seller's photos. When it arrives, I will restore the Lindsay "teaspoon of power" drive, but, I will leave the body shell the way it is.

Well before the next club meet the boys wanted to do a service on the power cars and an inspection of them as well. So the cars were disconnected and the power units were put together and sent to the shop. After things were ready they were run slowly into the shop and will be there for the week. I have just started restoring this Akane C&O 2-6-6-6 for my friend Sean. This is a series of photos showing how it was received (in parts), going through drive modifications and finally, paint and reassembly - This photo shows how the flywheel clears the backhead prior to soldering in place.

I bought this model last week, it arrived, but needed some work. I had to remove the cab and fuel bunker in order to correct their alignment. It appeared that at some point the model was dropped and the cab and fuel bunker were pushed out of alignment with the boiler. After repairing the cab and making a new cab vent, I used the blast booth to remove most of the blemishes on the brass. Then it was reassembled after an airbrush coat of clear gloss paint. The model still needs some work, but, it is coming along well I think.

This is a Custom Brass New York Central P-2A Electric Locomotive in HO scale that I bought recently. I spent this weekend repairing it. It was a basket case and was missing some parts. I still have to find a pantograph shoe for the roof to complete it, but, now it looks much better and runs very well.
