Once again an o scale model railroad subject without trains rather using props like my scratch built house. These are all miniature models, no montaging or layering 1:1 with miniatures
While waiting for the train to come in this past Saturday, I visited the Prince William Model Railroader's club layout which is on permanent set up in one end of the Quantico, Virginia train station. I took a couple of photos while I was there.

A few days ago, I purchased this model on the Internet. It arrived last night so I took a few photos.
A Lineage cold stage boxcar (LINX 8156)
Lineage Logistics was formed in 2008 to, as they put it, reimagine "the world’s food supply chain by preserving, protecting, and optimizing the distribution of food." Lineage has numerus locations around the world including Gaston, South Carolina where I live now.
Graffiti is best defined as writing or drawings scribbled, scratched, or sprayed illicitly on a wall or other surface in a public place. It is, of course, illegal to deface the property of someone other than your own. I have a love/hate relationship with ot. I would rather see an untouched railcar denoting either a fallen flag railroad or who owns it now, but those days are past us now anyway. Admittedly, some graffiti i very well done and very creative and the artists who paints is are often very well known.
I bought this early hand built brass model recently. It is un-restored, but runs very well. These early hand built models are extremely rare, with only a handful in the world, for me, they are an exciting find for my collection. This model is unmarked, therefore, I am not sure who the maker was, but, I suspect it was made by Tetsudo or Kawai Models sometime between 1950 and 1955. (Sorry for the bad photos, these were the best I could get using my iphone).

A recent purchase, the model was in rough shape. All of the valve gear needed work, many parts needed to be re-soldered. Made by Akane Models on March 11, 1963. Distributed in the USA by Gem Models.
This is a very rare PFM Crown model in HO scale. This represents one of only twenty five models made in the first run (1958). Made under the United Models name plate, the premier Japanese maker, Toby Models, made these semi-hand made models to extreme precision and high quality. For it's time, this was one of the top of the line models. Stamped #10 on the left side of the rear frame rail, this model has many features that the subsequent runs did not have (or, where in various stages of these features). Highly detailed cab interior for one. Other details which point to the run year is the hand built train control box mounted on the boiler, the absence of window sashes (all of the following runs had window sashes), a single generator (although two later runs had a single generator, this combination of details gives it away as the 1958 model.

Some of the details are added back on. many others need to be placed back in place and a lot of cleaning needs to be done at this point. Also, some details will need to be tweaked to make sure that they are in position properly.
A few photos of the dis-assembly, cleaning and reassembly of a C&O H-7a 2-8-8-2. This model was fairly tarnished and had dark spots in the finish. It also was missing a tender step and needed a good cleaning and lube. The reassembled model with new bell and whistle cords.
This is a Custom Brass New York Central P-2A Electric Locomotive in HO scale that I bought recently. I spent this weekend repairing it. It was a basket case and was missing some parts. I still have to find a pantograph shoe for the roof to complete it, but, now it looks much better and runs very well.

This beauty belongs to my friend Scott, he asked me to give it a weathered look as it was too black to see all the wonderful detail that this model has. Here are a few before & after photos of the weathering paint.

Rochester & Irondequoit Terminal GP9 7405 steps gingerly onto the trestle leading to the unloading shed at Genesee Brewery to pick up an empty malt hopper sometime in 1984. I scratchbuilt the trestle and the unloading shed. This scene takes place on the old RIT Model Railroad Club layout, since dismantled.

I have re-assembled this model after cleaning and repair of broken and missing parts. It was a rather sparse in details, and I did not add any to this project just to keep the appearance original. Some small items still need tweaking, but, for the most part it is done. This is the first Akane model that I have seen that came with a serial / production number. This one is number 93, and it is stamped in several locations with the number. These are common models, so this must be number 93 of hundreds made. This is the 1959 run year, with un-sprung drivers. The videos are the first and second test runs after assembly, they are not good, but, you get the idea anyway.
