Caught the Buckwheat local this morning near Westminster. C48 with one load works its way down the Colorado & Southern south of Louisville, Colorado on a cold sunrise. The old Agfa color film is struggling to stop the fast moving train in the low key light. (Wink)

At the Maryland Central's Altamont yard near the west end a recently fueled and serviced B&O Q4 poses next to MCRR GP7 #2404 sometime in August of 1956. On an adjacent track, nearly new RS3 #1511 moves away from the scene in this long exposure creating a ghost effect. A Baldwin S12 is at the roundhouse next to a shopped Alco PA which awaits a date with the paint shop after some work on it's pilot. Potomac Valley Lines F7 #7182 is at the fuel pad in the right background. It will be paired up with the 2404 on the next eastbound freight from the yard.

Milwaukee Road EF4, E79 east, leads it's train out of the bore on dad's Rocky Mountain Division. This is the last shot of this cool weekend for a while. Keep The Milwaukee Road alive in your hearts and modeling. It's time to get started on another G scale EF4.

Running my model of 2127 around the clubs layout, as I spent a few hours there after work on Tuesday evening.
This is a brass import of a Rio Grande C48 2-8-0 detailed, painted, and weathered and I photographed it on my layout. I hope some of my viewers enjoy some images of my Model Railroad endeavors in O Scale Model Railroading. A friend and I have built a sectional portable o scale model railroad that is roughly 60’ x 30’ that we exhibit. The trains are all 1/48 scale or a quarter inch is one foot. Unlike o gauge toy trains we build and model in 2 rail scale much like smaller scales we strive for the most authentic miniatures. These are all miniature models, no montaging or layering 1:1 with miniatures. Only the distant background is 1:1 as it is forced into the perspective by being in the distance.
M68 class Western 4-8-4 High balls down the Longmont Terminal and Northern with a priority manifest from Cheyenne. Models used are Precision Scale Company Boo Rim build 4-8-4 Western M68, Rail’s Unlimited resin CB&Q door and half box car, Drake Imports brass tank cars, custom build Rock Island war emergency gondola converted to TOFC. Bridge was built using brass Imports from OMI, and scratch built. Bridge is typical of Colorado Arroyo crossings that include river and dry creek bed that will often flood. Module was built by John Johnson and myself. John scratch built the deck scale spikes and every tie plate including every detail to Rio Grande standards. I helped in the detailing and weathered and scenery. I did the photography and final editing. Some cloning was done to hide to the edge of the module fascia. I added the exhaust and as always used from a prototype photo I took of a real steam locomotive, the module was shot outdoors with moderate light and studio lights.
It's 1975, and a Penn Central MP15 switcher spots an empty boxcar for loading at Genesee Brewery. Mike Smith custom painted the switcher. I scratchbuilt the trestle. This scene takes place on the old RIT Model Railroad Club layout, since dismantled.
A few days ago, I purchased this model on the Internet. It arrived last night so I took a few photos.
A recent purchase, the model was in rough shape. All of the valve gear needed work, many parts needed to be re-soldered. Made by Akane Models on March 11, 1963. Distributed in the USA by Gem Models. I still have some minor details for fix, like the coupler bar on the pilot and a loose step that I missed the first time around.

A pair of CSX geeps brings local B-753 back to Goodman Street Yard, headed west over the High Falls on the controlled siding, while an empty coal train heads east on the main line. I kitbashed the bridge and the waterfall. Joe Nugent kitbashed the Kibri factory into a representation of the Gorsline Building. This scene takes place on the old RIT Model Railroad Club layout, since dismantled.

This is a Chicago, Burlington & Quincy (CB&Q) S-2 type 4-6-2 in HO scale brass by Kumata for LM Blum Models. This model has severe damage due to foam rot in the original box. The paint was ruined by the decaying foam and most likely parts of the brass surface will require repair because of etching of the brass. These are not extremely rare models, but, they don't show up everyday either. There were 562 of them made by Kumata in 1967. PFM also produced 5 of them in 1960. The PFM version is extremely rare.
