1987 - Yugoslavia - Triglav - miniature version - easy for Jackie to climb!

The sign says Maketa Triglava - which translates I think to stone model of Triglav.

The model is situated in Ribčev Laz near Lake Bohinj. Triglav is the highest mountain in Slovenia. The model is the work of the painter Valentin Hodnik (1896-1935), an artist from Bohinj.

The model was erected in 1931-1932, and three tons of stones were placed on the site, which is the weight of two average cars at the time.

This small vise was cute it had to follow me home. The exact size of this vise can only be grasp in comparison with a matchbox. With the jaws closed the length of this tool is no more than 6 inches from vise screw to the end of the anvil.

The vise has no makers marks but my guess is it was made for jewelers.

Red mallee burl was used for the bowl. Quarter sawn ziricote with nice bees-wing figure used for the foot and lid. Ebony for a very bad finial. I have to try and fix it free hand.

Continuing our miniature Oribana project... and here is our mini-oribana called CAPRICE from the Oribana Delight collection.

The vase is just 2 inches (5 cm) high and the whole Oribana arrangement is just 4.5 inches (11cm) high.

The starring paper plants designed by Katrin are Orchid Pleione, Daisies, Yellow Lobelias and Pine Tree's Branch. The container design is Vase 'Caprice' by Yury. Used wonderful Japanese papers for plants and Swedish paper for the vase.

Note for origami enthusiasts: The step-by-step diagrams on how to fold the composition are published in our ORIBANA DELIGHT

www.oriland.com/store/collections/oribana_delight/main.php Happy folding!
