A miniature portrait of a lady with flowers in her hair.
It could well be the image of Marie Duplessis, the famous French courtesan, dating this miniature between 1840 and 1848. An extra clue would be the camellia in her hair, a feature which inspired Alexandre Dumas jr. (one of her many lovers) to the title of his famous book "La Dame aux Camélias" - based on her persona.
In turn, the famous opera "La Traviata" by Verdi is based upon Dumas' book, calling her by the name Violetta.

It was a non-working clock which I wanted to hang up for display. After a while, I felt something amiss. A clock is not a clock if it does'nt work! So I took it apart and do some fixing, to my surprise I managed to get it ticking again ! I was totally fascinated From there I got my second, third and so on....
My favourite has to be the 400 day clock
Amazing time piece and fun to repair Next in line is those of the electromechanical design type

At another sale I found these adorable miniature vintage Japanese ceramic shoes, they are too cute! The smallest ones are barely one inch, and the other ones are no bigger than an inch and a half. The lady said she may have more of them, so she will look and put them aside for me if she does. They were 10 cents each pair!!!
