I couldn't resist to share this with you. This is a statue in Rotterdam, Netherlands, made by a Paul McCarthy. The title is Santa Claus. We've nicknamed it Kabouter (gnome or goblin) Buttplug.

Yeah, what he said.

(Love these blackmail-style fridge magnets, by the way.)

Shooting a photo of the Hedding Street traffic counter between 9th & 10th. San Jose CA.

While out for a walk I saw this guy doing an automotive photo shoot, and he allowed me to photograph the photographer.

So, there is my tour of the Meta Probe. I enjoyed exploring the original design of the spaceship and trying to imagine what each of the sections would contain.

© Harold Davis. Guess how I did this!

I enjoy taking photographs in art museums, so taking a photograph of a postcard next to the print in an exhibit called "Postcards" seemed very meta.

The print and postcard is a photograph by Lou Stoumen called "Woman and a Modern Three Graces Sculpture."

Not exactly sure what was supposed to be going on here -- and again the limited angle I had to work with just makes the photo of the scene even more confusing -- but it seemed to be a very peculiar audience watching an undersea adventure movie of some kind.

Also, for reasons unknown, there is a menacing skeleton under the audience seats, an actual scuba diver on stage, a pirate, a wizard, and what I can only assume is supposed to be Poseidon or another sea god wearing a loincloth. Oh and an astronaut in the audience, sitting next to a firefighter, both in the full regalia of their occupations.

I mean, why not, right?

Placeholder in many ways, though after five pages of mayhem last week there was bound to be a bit of a slowdown.

This is now posted to my Brickshelf account - www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=3704981 - thought today's could use a day or two to go public.

I'm not sure why my Brickshelf account is still privated off - maybe I'll have to start up a new Flickr avatar...
