this is a marker pointing to a marker ("wegweiser" meaning marker, and "standort" meaning location). given how complex markers can get in switzerland (impressive signposts with arrows in many different directions), it certainly makes sense to have some of them working "by reference" and others "by value". it also reminded me of a story by douglas adams, where he pointed out that at some tourist destination (was it madagascar?), he found people making a living by pointing at people who then were pointing at animals.
