People look at art of people looking at art! Our FOUR CENTURIES opening was pretty awesome. Check out more photos from the event: thematthewsgallery.com/Artist-Detail.cfm?ArtistsID=195
Launching the Meta Probe was Commander Koenig’s first task as the Moonbase Alpha Commander. The planet Meta had an atmosphere and the unmanned Spacefarer 9 received signals indicating that Meta might be supporting life. There was no indication how far away the planet was or how long the trip would take.
Ooooooooh! I love this pokey-dot dress from Metamorphose in Tokyo so much! I got the pokey-dot hairbow to go with it, too! ^.^
There is a modular approach evident in the design of the Meta Probe. Likewise, I also looked at breaking the design into modular systems in a way that seemed logical. I wanted to create a structural system onto which elements could be added or removed. For this part of the design, you can see the structural hub and how the four cylinders would be attached. The connecting element is attached to an extension using in the forward four cylinder clusters but not in the aft three cylinder clusters. I’ll come back to the cylinders later.
Jeff and I went for a quick hike in Lighthouse Park; I was shooting film and he had the D600 so he helped me set up for this. It was so beautiful there... I wish we could have stayed all day but unfortunately he had to go to work at 4. I came home and made pizza for dinner while working on my entry for the cookoff.

The fully cellular vessel 'Meta' is seen here at the general cargo terminal of ABES at the 5th Haven dock.
Until recently, the vessel was sailing for CMA / CGM but now it is chartered by reefer vessel operator Seatrade. The vessel arrived empty late in the day on 11 February and loading operations started at 22:00h with two Gottwald cranes. One loaded empty 40ft reefer containers on board. The second crane first loaded soms 20ft containers and then some empty 40ft flatracks on top of it. Unusualy, they than started to load several hundreds of tons of steel beams and rebar. At the end, even some second hand cars were hoiste on board to be loaded on top of the steel.
The vessel's next port of call was Dunkirk to take on more containers before sailing to Noumea (New Caledonia)

Here, the Meta Probe glides past Saturn on its way to the unknown planet Meta in our solar system. Lets hope that the Meta Probe made it to its destination after all!
Very clever of me to snag a photo of someone taking a photo of someone taking a photo. Because that, like, totally never otherwise happened all day.
