Another 2021 Case E recolour of the Matchbox 1962 Mercedes-Benz 220 SE.
Found recently at a French E.Leclerc Jouet.
Mint and boxed.
No Molotow chrome pen required with this latest Autobahn Express IV five vehicle set recolour of the Matchbox 1969 BMW 2002. Factory applied chrome bumpers complimenting a glossy metallic blue finish plus of course the usual chrome disc wheels and front and rear detailing.
Found recently at Tesco.
Mint and boxed.
I still can't get enough of this 2022 Case E Matchbox Ford Capri which is just as well considering this batch is all Tesco have been offering since the latter part of last year!
Mint and boxed.
Latest 2023 recolour of the Matchbox 1975 Opel Kadett C Coupe which I had feared I would never obtain thanks to the comically bad situation here in the UK at the moment where more stores are selling Matchbox but none any newer than Case D. Case J is imminent which tells you how far behind we are!
Lots and lots of Case G to be found in French Action stores so lots and lots came home with me ;-p
Mint and boxed.
Quite possibly the star casting in the latest Matchbox 2023 Case B assortment. Hot Wheels have already done a similar era Ford Ranchero but certainly not the standard and accuracy of this beautiful effort. A glorious mix of chrome, superb rear tampo detailing and a smooth metallic green finish.
Mint and boxed.
Mix 1 of the Matchbox France Series can still be found in ample quantities in many French retailers and explains why yet again when visiting that country recently I grabbed several.
This one coming from an E.Leclerc Jouet.

Despite my deep intense hatred of HTI generics I'm not totally against generic diecasts per se as long as they don't dominate a toy manufacturers line up and that they are believable.
Despite some criticism from some collectors I actually really like the new Matchbox MBX Fire Dasher which debuts in the very latest Mix 5/Case E. Styled very much along the lines of a classic American Fire Engine circa the 1950's it looks contemporary and is a great way to avoid paying license fees and the complexities of getting a casting approved. Now appearing at Tesco. Mint and boxed.
Promising new casting seeing its debut in a recent Moving Parts series and which Matchbox have cleverly given it the ever popular National Parks livery. The 1950 Chevrolet Suburban isn't a vehicle i'm familiar with but as a casting seems to look good and obviously benefits massively by having chrome features and chrome disc wheels. Mint and boxed.
Two of these gorgeous new Matchbox Moving Parts 1980 Porsche 911 Turbo per case which is handy as I suspect they will fly off the pegs. Well, not here in the UK of course where they aren't officially sold! Grrrr
Mint and boxed.
I apologise for so many duplicate uploads but I was really struck with the new Matchbox Highway Speeders five vehicle set and as Tesco were selling these 100% licensed packs for just 3.50 I couldn't resist....
Definitely one of the best castings contained within and a great return for this 1969 Volvo P1800S. Mint and boxed.
Brand new Matchbox 1957 Dodge Sweptside Pick-Up, one of a few included in a full 72 count case of Batch C which I had to source from abroad as the UK is STILL on Case A! Mint and boxed.
Please excuse my ignorance but can anyone tell me whether the real 2017 Jeep Gladiator is yet another concept vehicle from this company or a production model, Jeep seem to have produced more concept vehicles than real ones over the decades so it does get a bit confusing!
Whatever its status it has been chosen to be modelled by Matchbox for their late 2017 line up with predictably great results, a reassuringly robust and chunky looking pick-up with lots of neat detailing all round and finished off nicely in this stock looking metallic green paint. Bought recently from ASDA who might actually just have meant it when they promised better MBX distribution going forward. Mint and boxed.
The original white and yellow debut version of the Matchbox 1975 Opel Kadett C Coupe remained popular in the UK despite the batch it came in was continually repeated at Tesco for pretty much six months! Always the first to be swiped I didn't actually manage to find that many apart from some I got online.
Its brand new recolour has proved far less elusive, in fact I found many with ease thanks to visiting various Action stores in France recently where they are offered in Power Grabs boxes.
A brilliantly executed casting in its own right but finally looks totally complete now it gets factory fitted front tampo detailing to headlights, badging and grille.
Mint and boxed.
Its now becoming a distant memory finding Ferrari in Mattels Hot Wheels and Matchbox line ups thanks to them losing the exclusive license to May Cheong some years back. A very strange arrangement by Ferrari considering virtually all the other hyper prestige marques are happy to see their products modelled by various toy makers at any one time.
It may be a playworn but this recent charity shop found 456 GT is a first for my collection.
Brand new Matchbox 2016 Nissan Sentra, one of the rare highlights of this years Case D assortment.
One of a few found recently at B&M Bargains.

Had Matchbox just stretched that budget a tiny bit more it could have made this new recolour of the 1963 Chevrolet C-10 Pick-Up absolutely outstanding. Theres no denying its a super crisp and accurate casting and with its chrome bumpers, disc wheels and shimmering metallic gold dare I say it encroaches on semi premium status. Unfortunately let down a little by its total lack of front tampo detailing. Mint and boxed.
When the exclusivity deal between Matchbox and Tesco ended this January I was very sceptical about whether any one else would then take advantage of the situation. The good news is that some have such as Morrisons, Sainsbury's, The Entertainer and Argos with apparently B&M Bargains and Toymaster due later.
The bad news is the dramatic increase in price compared to just 12 months ago when a basic single would cost just 1.25 at Tesco. They now charge 2.00, Morrisons have been quite reasonable at 1.80 but the likes of The Entertainer a rather Majorette rivalling 2.40! Considerably more than what our US friends are used to paying!
My local The Entertainer has just got in 2023 Case C and although Im totally against their price I did feel compelled to grab the new releases from that assortment, my reasoning being that its actually cheaper than getting full 72 count cases online from abroad!
I was very happy to find a few of the new 1980 AMC Eagle castings, a car never offered here but is recognised in being an early pioneer of the crossover genre and perhaps would have done much better had it being introduced a decade or two later.
If you don't mind doing some DIY detailing then this is a casting which can look pretty neat and effective and its easy to see why its proving popular with collectors on both sides of the Atlantic.
Mint and boxed.
Latest 2022 Case E recolour of the Matchbox 1970 Ford Capri, its best release so far in my opinion and unfortunately extremely unlikely to appear at Tesco who are STILL stuck on Case C!
Mint and boxed.
As you'd expect, the Matchbox France Series could be found in abundance in many retailers over there particularly Mix 1 and 3. With Mix 3 being stuffed with recycled recolours it hasn't proved popular at all apart from this VW Transporter T3 Crew Cab which is a new variation. Because of that fact this is the ONLY example I actually found, clearly being the first casting in this assortment to sell first.
I've always been a huge fan of this casting, even more so now that Matchbox actually gives it front detailing as even when it gets side deco too. Found recently in a King Jouet. Mint and boxed.
Already a big hit with collectors in the U.S. it will be interesting to see how well their new 1979 Chevrolet Nova fares in markets such as the U.K. where the real car is virtually unknown. First impressions are good with plenty of factory applied chrome, neat tri-spoke wheels and a lovely metallic blue finish. Mint and boxed.
With plenty of chrome and a really classy metallic blue finish for me this is one of the best recolours the Matchbox 1969 BMW 2002 casting has received so far.
Part of the new Autobahn Express IV five vehicle set, one of a few found at Tesco.
Mint and boxed.
Unfortunately theres very little incentive to go Matchbox hunting at Tesco due to the prices they charge, the smaller range they sell compared to 12 months ago and the fact that even though they've now missed several batches they are still behind!
2023 Case C is now slowly appearing in some of their stores FINALLY replacing last years E assortment, absolutely nothing I haven't got already but was tempted enough to grab another Chow Mobile II.
This plastic bodied Mobile Food Van is much better styled than its predecessor, its Grumman-Olson based styling more obvious here.
Mint and boxed.
So very very nearly there Matchbox yet this casting still has to suffer the indignity of unpainted grey plastic bumpers! Mattel what on earth is wrong with you! :-0
This castings third outing sees a few of the original wrongs now righted, it finally has totally transparent glazing instead of coloured or tinted, it finally gets to wear far more appropriate chrome disc wheels, it gets a very era appropriate cream body colour which perfectly compliments its red interior too. Definitely the model it should have been from the start and one which I hope to god comes to the UK as part of Case C. This one was sourced directly from the U.S. Mint and boxed.
Bringing the Corvette nameplate bang up to date and surprisingly for a lot of collectors its Matchbox rather than Hot Wheels who were given this important task. Being a Matchbox it is of course showroom ready, totally stock proportions and colour scheme. Very impressive for a budget diecast. Part of Case F now appearing at Tesco. Mint and boxed.
First seen as a 2020 Case C single, then it appeared in a nine vehicle set that same year and thanks to Matchbox love of recycling colours we see it once again in a brand new nine vehicle set for late 2021. Found recently at Tesco. Mint and boxed.
With the price of Matchbox five vehicle sets almost doubling in price over the last 12 months at Tesco I really REALLY shouldn't have been tempted to get more duplicates but as ever the greatness of their recent Autobahn Express IV assortment proved too tempting!
I am a huge sucker for their 1980 Mercedes-Benz Wagon especially in one of its best basic recolours so far.
