I've been challenged to do 100 photos of the Gherkin next year, which would probably mean bits of the building like this, as it difficult to see the whole building from any distance.
Watch this space, as I am thinking I'll give the challenge a go, but not sure I'll make the 100.
Colorful Halloween full head masks on display in stalls on Olvera Street.
Olvera Street ~ the vibrant internationally renowned Marketplace located in the El Pueblo De Los Angeles Historical Monument offers visitors shopping and dining experiences reflecting Mexican and Latino culture and traditions. Exciting Fiestas and Celebrations are held through out the year.

The wrapping on this building in Boston's Financial District reminded me of the stocking masks that bad guys wear in the movies.

the story behind this one is that
by wearing the mask I'm saying we've dirtied the air so bad with lies corruption manipulation and judge-mentality that i wear the mask saying i dont want to breath the air we've created because i might become infected
An outing to the Capilano Suspension Bridge. It was a shortish visit, and we didn't even go over the bridge!

masks are everywhere in venice and i bought a few while i was over there to use in sp’s (a black cat – of course!)
the tradition is centuries old they were worn during the carnevale (carnival of venice) for hiding the wearer's identity and social status and allowing them to remain hidden for illicit, criminal or even romantic encounters!

The most important Dogon mask is the Kanaga, a word that means the "hand of God in creating the world". The mask itself represents the first human beings and it is so important in Dogon spirituality that figures wearing the Kanaga mask are prominently displayed on the Dogon door, a special wood carving that tells the story of Dogon origins. When wearing this mask for the Dama dance, the wearer touches the tip of the mask to the ground and then sweeps it up toward the sky in a movement representing the creation of the earth. The mask is a dual cross with short bars extending up toward the sky and down toward the earth.
