Around here, there was one last institution that still required masks. They recently dropped the requirement.
I've come up with two possibilities:
Option 1. Someone was riding the elevator, realized nobody else was wearing one and immediately took it off - and in their joy, left it here.
Option 2. Someone realized they had grabbed an extra mask and left it in case someone wanted to use it.
In both cases, seems tacky.

Vase of polished alabaster, roughly cylindrical inside. The lid is human headed; those dedicated to Hapi and Qebehsenuef have beards. The eyes are painted white and black. The vase contains a package in the shape of a human mummy, wrapped in cloth, this is surmounted by a small gilt mask, and the whole fixed in place with sawdust. The mask is made of plaster, gilt outside and painted white inside. The necklace is painted in red and two shades of blue, the eyes are also outlined in white and black.

My 4th mask in bright greens, blues and a pop of purple. I used a mix of colors, patterns and textures to give this mask her spirit
Ontario Wanderer bought himself a mask_to keep debris out of his beard as he works on his relief sculptures and other art works!:~)

I've been challenged to do 100 photos of the Gherkin next year, which would probably mean bits of the building like this, as it difficult to see the whole building from any distance.
Watch this space, as I am thinking I'll give the challenge a go, but not sure I'll make the 100.

Bought off of eBay, with a brown ruru I got in one of the European mask bags. More misprint ruru pictures to come, as the bags came with a few more.
Photo taken with a Hasselbad 500C, Distagon 50 mm, Trix@320 in HC-110 and printed on Adox MCC 110 20x20 cm.
Left: Straight print made with split grade printing.
Center: An unsharp mask was used to add local contrast to the shadows and increase sharpness via edge effect. Overall contrast was reduced but more details and sharpness were obtained in the shadows.
Right: in addition to the unsharp mask a highlight mask was also added to the sandwiched negatives to increase the brightness in the highlight areas and rescue the overall contrast.
Darkroom masking is really amazing. That's my first experience with it. I allows clearing, darkening and sharpening areas that are impossible to dodge and burn espcially with complex structures.
PS: Ignore the sky for the moment it needs specific burning but that's a matter of taste :)

Kanohi Tallus - the Mask of Walking
The wearer of this mask is granted the ability to walk on any surface regardless of density and orientation. The more it defies physics, the more the user must concentrate to keep the power active.
This mask was a project I actually planned on doing a couple years ago, initially inspired by the mask maker contest, which I didn't find time to take part in. Back then I bought the Technic 24-hour race car for parts for the build, but the threshold to start such a project proved too high. Only a bit over a month ago did I actually start making the mask, and ironically it took only 7 hours over two sessions. I think it helped that I had been thinking of the design and color scheme for a couple of years.
The color scheme was initially meant to be black at the bottom, green in the middle and white at the top, but due to part limitations and the color of the eyes that changed to primarily green and black. I mainly used parts from the 24-hour race car and air race jet technic sets, with a couple extras from my bin. The blue was not initially meant to be included, but when I was running out of green to define the eyes, the blue turned out to give a great accent, so I went along with it.
I wore the mask at Pii Poo 2018 lego event last month and a lot of jaws dropped when the kids saw it. It was kinda priceless.
