While loudspeakers play typical uruguayan folklore music, hundreds of people gather in front of Club Sarandà where the marking of horses is done the day before the "Raid" endurance race is held. There they can closely watch each equine prior to the night gambling, meet with friends and gossip, or just break the saturday routine of the small rural town.

It has been a week of shells for me, i am painting a nautilus shell and I did some shell photography this week.
I have filled every vase, dish and jar I have with shells that I collect at the beach to go in my little beach house.
I'm a lousy photographer, but there's nothing wrong with the model. This is Johndee, my Bengal. So spectacular. He came from the ACC kill "shelter."

Mtskheta was founded in the 5th century BCE. It was the capital of eastern Georgia when Christianity was declared the state religion in 337 CE and remains the headquarters for the Georgian Orthodox Church. The original church on this site was built in the 4th century when allegedly St. Nino (a woman who preached Christianity in Georgia) chose this location for the first Georgian church. The current Svetitskhoveli Cathedral was completed in 1029 and is the second largest church building in Georgia. Georgian tradition holds that Jesus’s robe is buried beneath the church after having been brought back by a local Jew who happened to be in Jerusalem when Jesus was crucified.
The Historical Monuments of Mtskheta became UNESCO World Heritage sites in 1994.

North American Saber F-86E. Canopy Markings. I believe these are dive or climb angles as the numbers of degrees is written above the lines. They are not explosive charges as seen in modern jet aircraft. Nor are they some type of antennae embedded into the canopy glass. Next time I go to Chino, I'll ask the experts there.

In this clip, the parade has slowed down in front of our flag party, and the cadets must "mark time" as the band keeps the beat.
Painting and markings:
As usual, I rather stick to conservative liveries for my whif builds, and for the IAR 90 I took inspiration from Romanian IAR 80 fighters, which carried green/brown/light blue camouflage with bright yellow quick ID markings, following German Eastern front standards.
The pattern was adopted from a real IAR 80, and for the colors I used Revell 42 (RAL 6014, Gelboliv) and Modelmaster 2124 (Russian Earth Brown)., while the undersides became RLM 65 (Revell 55). The cowling was painted with Revell 310 (Lufthansa Yellow), which came close to the decals‘ tone. The interior surfaces were painted medium grey. After basic painting the model received a light black ink washing and panel-shading with slightly brighter/paler paints.
The decals are a mix of Romanian markings from a Bristol Blenheim (Xtradecal) and a Bf 109 G-6 (Printscale), while the fuselage band came from a Revell (Matchbox) He 70. Stencils were mostly taken from an Academy Fw 190 D-9 sheet. Unfortunately, the decal setting solution damaged the overwing crosses – I tried to hide that flaw under dry-brushing, though, before the model was sealed with matt acrylic varnish.

This big guy is dutifully doing his rut behavior, marking his area. Not five-minutes later a smaller buck came storming in and literally crapped all over this guy's markings.
The door sill will be dropped as far as possible, then the gap between the hood and the pontoon will be dropped to match. I can remove about 2 inches of material from the top edge of the door sill to the upper edge of the recess for the side pipes.
The door jamb will be moved rearward as far as possible.

Building day 5:
I forgot to take photos of the deck beam tenon marking & cutting.
This was a lot of work, thanks a lot to my father for helping me a lot with the saw
and the Fein-Grinder-tool (that´s his favorite tool! Not mine, it´s too loud) The undersides of the deck beams are rounded.
Building day 6:
The deck beams were fitted, spanish windlasses and mechanic tension belts were used.
The Sheerboard ends were joined using trunnels (dowels with wedges in the ends) and
the first lashings were made
Then deck beams were top-pegged and the ends sawn flush.
Building day 7:
the deck was lashed - and like in the original - some deck beams were fastened diagonal pegs, some with lashings. Also forgot to take photos, the building starts to feel like work.
