353/365 Red Maple tree in the back yard is turning red. Such a beautiful shade of red with the sun shining through.
Taken in Mac's Photo Booth - for mother's day!
I don't have any photos of his real poodle mommy, so I'll have to do.
And look - no collar on Maple!

A post for Bokeh Wednesdays. Another mistake from last night where I forgot to check the exposure compensation on my camera before I started shooting. But in my eyes, this was a pleasant mistake with the dark background really setting off the backlit orange maple leaves. Let me know what you think. At the Sensory Garden at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS.
A nice display of leaves from a maple bush in the garden. It's amazing the number of different colours one bush can produce.

That maple again, well it might not look like this on monday, hope it will survive the wind to come.
A neighbour's shrub collects falling maple leaves as autumn arrives in Toronto. The colours bring first thoughts of Christmas, don't they?
Colours have been actively sneaking in here. Many Maples have been suffered from the black-spot disease for many years, particularly for those grown trees. Walking in the magic hour, I was amazed by these beautiful leaves.

Symbol of Canada,
beauty is diverse,
rainbow of colors,
together complete,
full of possibilities,
darkness to defeat,
no matter sorrow,
set backs and grief;
it's the beauty
of a country,
the beauty
of a maple leaf
We used to live in this house in Connecticut. It was a funky little place, built on a 1750s vintage stone foundation on 4 acres of land, half landscaped, half wood lot; and every Fall we were treated to the almost overwhelming colors of this magnificent maple tree. My wife had an aunt, who would occasionally visit us from New York City, and she once commented that the tree was almost too beautiful to behold, even painfully so without a martini in hand. Forty years ago, we fled the inhospitable New England Climate for sunny California and have never experienced even one iota of regret. But, when I look at this tree, I realize that there are a few weeks out of each year when California can’t hold a candle to New England.
