Lydia demonstrated the manfrotto tripod for us. It was so impressive that my friends all ordered one, and some of them don't even have a camera!
This shot was made studio like... without a studio. Taken on an Olympus E-PL1 with 14-42mm kit lens. The flower was on a vase, against a (distant) yellow background- a wall - with the sun light on it. Exposure made for the flower, on spot metering mode, helped to blow the highlights in the background.
Some final work in Lightroom 3 and this is the result, made with an "amateur" camera. I choose the square shape because I had some dark area in the low section of the image that I could not get rid of... unless I "photoshopped" it, what I did not want to do. So this is the truth in front of the photographer - with some personal interpretation - to show what can be done with a small camera. Taken on a backyard in Lisbon.
Aaah, the ISO was on auto because the light levels on the flower where low and I was handholding the camera. So it's 500 ISO and still detail is there, even on the original.
The pistol grip allows you to move the head into virtually any angle and then releasing the grip locks it into place.

Mis nuevas adquisiciones de equipo. Podria decirse que son mis reyes personales jejeje.
Un buen tripode manfrotto con rotula y funda y el flash externo el cual llevaba detras de el un tiempo, ya que muchas veces se echa de menos segun el tipo de foto y situacion y aparte para coger experiencia con el y el tipo de fotos que puede ofrecer.
Set up shot. I set the aperture to it's smallest...f/29...to get a slow shutter speed...5 sec with ISO100. Also I shot using a 10sec timer. This gave me time to move the car by pushing it. The Outback is not light. Get the car moving for a 5 sec exposure and it makes it look as if your doing 100mph.
