Bob Hope’s Favourite Peach Upside Down Cake - The cake looks good – hope ‘Fancy Pants’ was a hit for Bob. Who now remembers the ski-nosed comedian – or Betty Crocker’s ‘Partycake Mix’?

Gold Seal Salmon Around the World In 80 seconds - Shelf Life is interested in the Salmon alla Parmigiana: “Mamma mia, it was never like this in Napoli”. Too true.

Bisquick New!! Plantation Biscuits - Speaking of stuff that isn’t pretty any more, some ad language has deservedly gone with the wind. In 2011, no one would dream of suggesting a concept like ‘Plantation Biscuits’. Guess there weren’t too many black folks on Madison Avenue back then.
What A Spread You Can Make From Bread – Let Your Baker Be Your Menu Maker - We’ll have that meal on a bun on the left – the Bulging Potato Salad Burger – that is, if those tower sandwiches don’t poke our eyes out first.

Fruit Cocktail From California – Fruit Cocktail Hot! Call us scaredy cats, but we’re a little apprehensive about that pan of bubbling fruit cocktail. Butterfingers Shelf Life might drop it, or spill it. Here’s what’s freaking us out: we would have to explain to the emergency room physician that we had an accident with hot fruit cocktail, and that would be weird.

Stokely’s – Finest Way To Lend A Fiesta Air - Ah, bygone America. Shelf Life can only marvel at trusting, untraveled Americans of the 1940s, who apparently believed that Mexican-style food could be achieved with a teaspoon of chili powder and some chopped pimiento. Such innocence, muchachos!
