Bakers Chocolate - We love this ad. If we were eight years old in April 1962, we would totally run around and play Musical Chairs and gorge on pink icing and knock ourselves out on party fun. Later, while Mom cleaned up, we would thank our lucky stars that we had a happy celebration and that we weren’t one of the “temporarily tearstained”.

Cover for our first men's themed issue. Very proud that we actually were allowed to put men on this cover, albeit in the background. Much debate surrounded the black eye on the model. Fear of it looking like we were condoning abuse (brought up by female staff) made me soften the shiner for print. I didn't agree and when I saw the printed copy, I was thoroughly disappointed that I gave in. This shows the cover as it was intended. What do you think?

Commissioned Tavis Coburn to illustrate this story on the future of handsets and cell phones, which could eventually process radio and television signals, as well as regular voice and internet. I had the basic idea of showing a handset with multiple antennas, and Tavis rocked it out.
