blossoms stitching out
i like to line up the threads i'll be using along my sewing table. in this case, only 3 colors are needed--hot pink, light pink, brown.
Many years ago I won a prize in a textile competition and part of this was a box of rayon thread.
My sewing machine was never comfortable with this when I tried to use it for machine embroidery, but now I have a super duper new machine, it's sewing like a dream with these.
At least it has justified me keeping them for so long
When I'm in the mood to waste time (it takes a while to set it up) I love to embroider clothes for my girls. I especially love applique machine embroidery. Like the shirt says, "Yummy"!

From Urban Threads - Skullflake design
Made from a $3 craft box I found at Michaels, which I then embroidered on. Astroman is embroidery, the rest is just paint. I also added some lining to make it a bit more plush inside.
Mixed media - including an old book page, paper, pens, ink, felt, wool, chiffon and machine embroidery.
Collaged map of Hastings, using pages from an old map, scraps of machine embroidered textiles mounted on to linen canvas. The roads are all hand stitched in red and blue. The whole piece is then painted with bees wax.
