After coating both sides of hand made silk paper with resin, I painted one of the dried surfaces with acyrilic paint and then gesso.

I then drew on this side with a fibre pen, and then machine embroidered on the reverse after adding a backing of calico. For a finishing touch I added acrylic ink to parts of the sketch.

Nothing special, but I think I can build on this technique

Machine embroidered flash cards for And stitches back to school stitchalong. Pictures of my sons using shadows. Stitched with Sylko machine thread (36 weight) on to a linen canvas, which was then mounted on to a coarser linen canvas backed with woven iron on interfacing.
