MY BLOG POST about this trip.
A shot from a couple of days ago on a visit to Project 01 in Botley near Southampton. They specialise in bringing the running gear of vintage Volkswagen Campers and Beetles up to modern day standards. www.project01.co.uk/
My grandma used to own and use this manual (rather pedal) singer sewing machine. I love this thing, it's way nicer and more precise to sew than any of the newer ones.
(Terrible background on the picture, but could not move it to a location where the background would have looked good for taking a photo).

Part of my series on Nature and Machines.
This image is of several drill bits for the CNC machine. Post work done with CS2. This image is paired with the 'Green Onions Rain' in my series.
Enjoy!
Result of the day: Seat post beam finished. Next on to the head tube beam.
The brazing of the seat tube to the EBB shows some room for improvement....

High power electrical supply towers and lines crosss salt ponds of the South Bay. Salt evaporation ponds formed by salt water impounded within levees in former tidelands on the shores of San Francisco Bay. There are many of these ponds surrounding the South Bay. As the water evaporates, micro-organisms of several kinds come to predominate and change the color of the water. First come green algae, then darkening as orange brine shrimp predominate. Finally red predominates as dunaliella salina, a micro-algae containing high amounts of beta-carotene (itself with high commercial value), predominates. Other organisms can also change the hue of each pond. Colors include red, green, orange and yellow, brown and blue. Finally, when the water is evaporated, the white of salt alone remains. This is harvested with machines, and the process repeats. The Dumbarton Bridge runs through the middle of this shot.

If anyone has any information about this machine, please share it! It might be on wheels, in which case, the man with the hat might be pushing it. If that is a beard, it is a very odd shape. And the man at the left background appears to be looking in the direction in which something might have been propelled. The ladies at the distant right appear to be enjoying a picnic, with callous indifference to the fate of their menfolk, who might be at imminent risk of explosion. And another thing - why is what looks like an exhaust pipe apparently pointing at the gent with the moustache.
Should I refinish this case to look as it originally had? Or should I refinish it to look more update? I'm torn...
Found this at thrift store. It's without motor, pedal, bobbin cover, and spool pins. But it has a case! I'm going to try to restore it over time. I think first I need to get a motor and pedal to see if there's anything missing or broken.
1987 Lewis Galoob toys. Got this one in Singapore in 1988 on my way to London. This one's American package version.
Anytime you have BMW’s red M1 and M2 tabs at your fingertips — in this case a 2020 X3 M Competition SAV— then know that the drive to score quarantine essentials such as toiletries and groceries is going to be far more exciting than a typical domestic outing. And with its fancy carbon elements intended for proper fit and finish and virtuoso performance, I truly enjoyed every bit of this week’s tasks.
My machine from craigslist! It's all back from getting serviced and it looks awesome. It stitches so straight, it's amazing :)
