Gumball Machine and bubble gum attachment.
This was one of the oddest vending machines I've seen. Not in design but in selection of items. An Epcot Center doohicky, a faux Old West leather wallet, condoms, Confederate flag crap, candy.
Given the lovably eccentric owner of the joint (Randy Senna), it makes sense.
Claire wrote a story about Wildwood last year that has a sidebar about Mr. Senna.
Machine Head opening for Metallica at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC on January 15, 2009.
I got wet. It was well worth it for this shot. After he chucked a water bottle into the crowd and then violently slammed down his mic stand shortly afterwards, I decided this was clearly the dude to follow and I pretty much ignored all the other band members. Unfortunately he didn't too much else that was totally crazy.
Please do not use without permission (just ask!).
A vending machine in Kawagoe, Saitama. I like the fact that it was themed in such a way to represent the city. I saw this one near the statue of Ota Dokan, a short walk from Hikawa shrine and the "Bell of Time."
Designed in 1849 by Charles Babbage. Chuck never built one, but someone did in London in 2002 and this one was built in 2008 at the Computer History Museum in San Jose, CA.

This was made very quickly as an experiment into adding movement to a still image used in a video fusion project that mixes video and stills. The wind machine is obviously a graphic, but like I said, it's only an experiment. I'm also going to have a play with layered pan and scan, where a near field object tracks faster than the background.
First sketches and models for the Time Machine, a new interactive art project created by Pataphysical Studios.
In this brainstorm session, each team member sketched out their own ideas, then discussed them with the group, to design our upcoming time travel experience together.
Next, we plan to create a composite design with some of these ideas, to integrate them into a single blueprint.
To be continued ...
