our Art Gallery is getting a renovation - is getting Gehry-fied actually - and this is the crane around back. i thought it was strange that even the crane has been decorated (see the figure in yellow and there's one in red you can just catch a glimpse of) and has a sign on it that says "art matters".
Delamore Arts and Sculpture Exhibition takes place annually, every day in May. Based in a traditional Dartmoor agricultural estate house and gardens, the exhibition presents the largest collection of artist's work in one place in the South West. Extensive gardens featuring ancient Rhododendrons and Azaleas are at their best in May creating a vibrant and exciting backdrop to the finest Sculpture exhibition in Devon. Based at Cornwood near Ivybrige, Delamore is right on the edge of beautiful Dartmoor and makes for a fantastic day out.
The imposing house was built in 1859 for Ann Praed and George Parker when they were married. The gardens which are rarely open to the public were laid out at a similar time with plantings of newly imported rhododendrons and magnificent trees. Seen at their best during May, they are an ideal backdrop for sculpture large and small, from well established to new and emerging artists.The light rooms make a superb gallery for paintings and indoor sculptures.

Last night, I convinced my grandson to take a break from watching the second season of the old "Outer Limits" series, and instead, enjoy watching this Powell and Pressburger classic, newly released by Sony. He seemed to enjoy it; so did I.

This SEM image captures the vesicle structures made by the spontaneous self-assembly of a dipeptide in water. The reflective surface is given by the build-up of negative charges on the vesicles.
